Panorama's

Recommended Posts

In the bid to get people to do different things, I'd like to make this topic for the sole purpose of posting Panorama's. Now, I know people here have posted them in the photo topic before, in which case, bring them here, and go make more!

I'd also like to think that people will go out and try this sort of thing. It's pretty awesome when you can get it right and see the results.

Tip: Try finding open land, or a rooftop which gives you a good view all around you. Not so much 360, but good enough. I'd like to try a centre of town one, but it's also nice to have landscape ones. I guess like everything else, the possibilities are endless.

Here's one I did the other week. I didn't even have a tripod, I balanced the camera on a wall up on a roof.

Link because it's big: http://i.imgur.com/WElBy.jpg

So hopefully, we can start seeing people give this a go.

Get creative!

Edit - And remember folks, please link large images instead.

I like the idea. My camera has a Sweep Panorama thingy built in, making this a little different for me (I get uber fish-eye style distortion with it at times) but oh so easy.

Here's a few I've taken recently.

I actually won a panorama competition at work (only about 20 people could enter it so it's not like there was any stiff competition) to win me latest point n click (Sony DSC-HX5) and Eurostar trips to Paris...on the provision I took images. I can't seem to find the image I entered at the moment either. Meh.

View from the Sacre-Coeur at Montmarte, beautiful city Paris.

Not exactly a panorama, but it gives a great sense of open space.

Amusingly, I've entered this last picture into another nationwide panorama competition (which came about after the success of our little one). Would kinda take the piss if I won again, considering I used the prize camera and trip to compose my entry. Heheh.

Hell No & Mark, There great! I love them especially the Louvre one Mark. biggrin.gif

I really love Panorama's but i've never done them. So here's my first ever panorama. Done in auto stitch so don't mind the crappy compression. tounge.gif

Thanks guru biggrin.gif I got a new HTC Legend with a decent camera so after climbing a f*cking huge tower with my mates i decided a 360 degree panorama was needed but autostitch would only do 180 degress. lol.gif If i find a way to do 360 i'll update it. smile.gif

Here's the final image though. biggrin.giftounge.gif

City view from a window at my place. It's a big window.

awesome link

Image done by stitching 3 photos together. Now my camera has the sweep panorama mode, but I've yet to edit and upload a decent picture done with that method.
