nsgtasafan
Does anyone have a garage in gta sanandreas that takes about 5 minutes to open? Why does it do that, it gets so annoying, i know its not suppose to do that. I actually have to pause the game and if i get lucky it will magically open when i unpause it. or if that doesnt work (it useually doesnt) then i have to punch it for about 5 minutes. that a pretty ghetto garage, does anyone else have that problem, or does anyone know why it does that. Blizzard14
Im guessing you are talking specificly about the Doherty garage, im also guessing you are on the PS2. That tends to happen a lot when you have heavily modded cars from WAA.

lil weasel
If you have modded the game you should be asking in the Modding Forums. Else, What is your platform? We shouldn't have to guess at what you have. ... Note that this forum is only for unmodded copies of the game. For anything related to add-ons, tools or mods, please visit the modding forums. Maybe this belongs in the TROUBLESHOOTing Forum? if you are PC: Are you playing the game with the Original DVD in the drive? Or Are you using a ‘backup’ or copy of the DVD? (NO FIX) Or Are you using a NO-CD program/crack? (NO FIX) Or Are you using a Downloaded Game, from other than Direct2Drive or SteamPower.com, Where? ZombieFrogger
I have the same problem in the garage at Cj's house next to sweets,it takes like forever to open and when it finaly opens ive lost all intrest in the garage, but ive noticed it happens mostly on Cars ive Changed in that Modding shop in San fierro or the modding shop in Los Santos. I managed to make it open faster by making sure all the cars have at least a space where cj can enter them, i dunno how it helps but my garage opens faster now. radioman
Do you have more than 2 cars(vehicles) in one garage? Too many vehicles in one garage can cause the garage door to mess up like that-that is why the game give the message "you cannot store anymore vehicles in this garage" when trying to put too many in. Also, the PS2 tends to be slower at loading than the PC version...
☆NorthStar
I have the same issue here, but I've had it on PS2 and PC. It's rather irritating but pausing and resuming the game a bunch of times usually works out.
Drift-Kingz
I have never even heard about this problem before nor have I ever experienced it.
Proud Fool
This only happens with the Ganton garage, I think it matters what angle you approach the garage at.
lil weasel
Does the quantity and/or type of Cheats enter into this problem?
DarrinPA
Does the quantity and/or type of Cheats enter into this problem? No, I have the same slow garage door problems on games that I have cheated on and also games that I haven't. I have this happen mostly at Grove Street, southwest Garcia / Hashbury, and the car garage at the abandoned airport. But it can happen anywhere. My guess is that maybe there are too many cars spawned in the local area and the cars in the garage are different types so it has to wait until the other cars go away. But that wouldn't really explain some cases where there are no cars or streets around.
spaceeinstein
Blame it on the cheats... Such a simple way to explain any problems. The main reason for the garage not opening is that the game is trying to load the car. If it's a heavily modded car, a rare car, a full garage, or, as mentioned above, a heavy traffic area, it should take longer for the garage door to open.
