slider1
Here are my thoughts, well to be honest i thought it was a step back from GTA SA, you could earn all this money but have nothing to spend it on. Ok i'm not after the sims but i'd like to be able to have a wider variety of clothes shops, i'd like to be able to buy houses and to work your way up to a mansion, i'd like to be able to buy businesses i.e strip clubs, night clubs etc. I also think it would be a good idea if you could do stuff inside your houses, i.e pool table to go in the hot tub, invite friends over and throw parties, invite your girlfriend/girlfriends over and get in the hot tub etc, as i found it tedius having to keep going out on dates or meeting up with friends to keep them happy, at least if you could invite a few friends over it would keep them all happy and in less time etc. Other than that it was a pretty good game, i know it's a fine line and if they go to far it'd be like the sims, but as it stands at the moment the money you earn from missions seems to be pointless, and i'd like the fact that as the game starts you have nothing and by the end you can see the fruits of labour in the for of houses and businesses, but i'd want the houses to have a bit more depth than just somewhere to save your game and change your clothes. jappi8
Yeah it was a step down from GTA SA.But they wanted to go a realistic way so yeahIf you want more i suggest you pick Episodes from Liberty City from your local game store. It has a lot more to offer and you have a whole new story with two characters Johnny Klebitz, A Lost biker from Alderney and Luis Lopes, a bodyguard of Gay Tony who is fightning to keep his danceclubs from falling apart. The two episodes are The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony. And i have one thing for you.In The Ballad of Gay Tony you also get a parachute and more over the top missions.I suggest you buy it if you don't have it already.Greetings

nb2010
There was no point in being able to buy houses etc because Niko was supposed to be "working" just to earn a living. However, when he does a certain job he gets more than enough to live a straight life on. Whats the most money Niko has ever had? I currently have $410,000. slider1
There was no point in being able to buy houses etc because Niko was supposed to be "working" just to earn a living. However, when he does a certain job he gets more than enough to live a straight life on. Whats the most money Niko has ever had? I currently have $410,000. Well i'm currently just finishing of the side missions mainly the pigeons and the Steve's car thefts, i have just over $500,000, just seems pointless when you have nothing really to spend it on. By the end of the game it'd be nice to now you started with nothing and ended up quite wealthy with houses and businesses that you have bought with your money. They could even extend it and allow you to purchase cars, but the cars you purchase would be totally unique, with no other ones on the road, and if you ever totally destroyed your car, it gets replaced with a new one in your garage etc. GTA for me isn't just about completing the missions, it's about all the other cool stuff you could do along with it and that included buying houses etc. With GTA IV once you've finished the bank robbery mission and got the $250,000 the amount of money you have becomes irrelevant, as you'll never get to a point in which you need any more or be motivated by money. Where as San Andreas i can often recall when i'd seen a house that i wanted to buy and was short of a few thousand i'd earn as much money asap just so i could buy it. Yet in this version my story game has finished i have $500,000 and my properties all tend to be rat infested sh*t holes, Apart from one property. Racecarlock
My money is mostly being spent on medical bills and taxi rides. So yeah, it lasts a long time. That being said, the social system is the most f*cking annoying feature i've ever encountered in a video game.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't find the social system anywhere near as annoying as you do. Certainly not the most annoying in any video game I've ever encountered. Jeez I played GTA IV yesterday for 1 1/2 hours, and didn't get a single phone call from one of my friends/girlfriends, and yes the phone wasn't on sleep. Vamp 1911
It was a shame that you had nothing to spend your money on at the end. With so much mafia in Liberty City it made no sense not being able to invest in business or property with them. I thought the friend system was great in IV. It was your small circle of brothers against the world.

Well i had around 500 000 and a lot of weapons on me, but i like to be lazy and die alot duringpidgeon hunt when i fire a gun and police shoots me, so somewhere mid pidgeons complete i am at 100 000.
