fenom
Hello!! I have a problem with gta iv performance. The frames are fine 40fps... But i have stuttering - or something I don't know. The game goes fine but with slow downs, really big ones! So the game runs smooth, but all the time in get these slow downs like if u turn on slow-motion for a sec. If you don't know what I mean I can film it for you... And there's another thing! If I set the shadows to off the slow downs are almost gone . Almost. A lot of you would say "so what reduce the shadows, and keep on playing.." But hey... I didn't buy a comp, with amd phenom 4 and ati 5770 1gb so I can play on some very high settings and have shadows disabled! It would be nice if someone could help me.. Ive tried most of the fixes, but they didn't do nothing much.
mkey82
5770 is not that great card and GTAIV is very demanding. I'll let you do the math. On the other note, if feasible for you, some older game version (prior to 1.0.6.0) may give you better performance with the old shadow system. fenom
Tried it with 1.0.6.0 25 fps
fenom
And reducing the graphics, or raising, doesn't change nothing...
fenom
Fixed it! dont know how... All i did was played mafia 2 demo, and I had low frames, and I went into catalist, and 100% the fan. NO diffrence. Put it back to defoult. And went to play gta and the frames were 50, and i went and raised the shadows, and still working, raised the draw distance and detail distance to 100 -still working Weird
