MrPaul123
From SL website Merry Christmas!Dec 24th Posted by Shadow-Link in Uncategorized 10 comments .Tonight it’s christmas night, so I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas! I hope you’ll get lots of presents and get together with your family and friends (we should be able to life without IV Modding for atleast a day, right?). This could be seen as a little Christmas present, I’ve joined the russian modding team! I hope together we can make some awesome tools to get this game fully moddable. Again have a nice Christmas, Next post Happy new year 2011!Dec 31st Posted by Shadow-Link in Uncategorized 4 comments What would you like to see for next year? A help area where I’ll help people out with IV modding problems? Improved tools from me and the Russians? Let me know what you would like to see on my website in the comming year. Happy new year! Shadow-Link Reply Quote I am sorry, but the good news is. I am working together with the russians now So we might get a new release of a map editor after all! There is more posts on his website where he mentions working with the team. Very sad day. Edited April 14, 2011 by MrPaul123
Shadow-Link
Thats not true, you got it. I give to you all access to all out team resources (even include full OpenIV source codes), but you don't use it and just left the modding. BTW, 3Doomer even not in OpenIV team (but you are), and his GIMS is fully his project and not OpenIV team project or something like that. Sorry about that then, it didn't really feel like I was in the team as there was no communication about modding at all. It wasn't my intension to get the OpenIV topic locked, just wanted 3Doomer to remove my dll files from the download. I fully support OpenIV and GIMS but he should've asked for the source or permission to use it.

MrPaul123
This is crazy... THIS IS MODDING!!! Dark side of modding* I do agree with good-nts because he did say before that sl joined, but it was sl who said he has no time for modding, which is why i thought it was unfair to get the mods to lock his thread. Without even talking to anyone. But i think SL is like me and acts on emotional impulse, in the heat of the moment. Hopefully the thread will be unlocked because good-nts and his team are the remaining people working on making gta 4 moddable for everyone. This IS a Community project remember. gamerzworld
Quote from 3Doomer I'll try to improve/fix this buggy script...may be, there won't remain Shadow's codesI'm already on my own exporter. As soon as the openFormats'll be ready, I'll delete this awful thing and make the oF exporter. http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?act=ST&...st&p=1060424108 Looking at that, he seems to admit to using Shadow's code. Hopefully, Shadow and 3Doomer can work things out and get the permissions needed in place. It'd be sad to loose another great tool.
TheChopShop
am I reading this right? ..Doomer is being denounced and denied as part of the OIV team? if this is true, why does his script export Obd/Obn (OpenBoundsDictionary, as in OpenIV) vs Wbd/Wbn? and if he wasn't part of the team, then why was GooD-NTS doing the majority of posting GIMS releases? sounds like Doomer's gettn seriously stabbed in the back right now.. even tho GIMS admittedly used some of Shadow's Coding, this was a raw move on Shadow's part imo and it achieves absolutely nothing well, that's not entirely true.. as it certainly serves to alienate Doomer from this community and put a stop his excellent and timely work
MrPaul123
Well it looks like SL hasnt pm'd the mods to get good-nts thread unlocked, so hopefully he will make a new thread...
GooD-NTS
am I reading this right? ..Doomer is being denounced and denied as part of the OIV team? 3Doomer never been a part of OpenIV team. if this is true, why does his script export Obd/Obn (OpenBoundsDictionary, as in OpenIV) vs Wbd/Wbn? He just support for our openFormats in his GIMS. openFormats is part of OpenIV not of GIMS. and if he wasn't part of the team, then why was GooD-NTS doing the majority of posting GIMS releases? Because GIMS is currently the only script that have support for our openFormats. even tho GIMS admittedly used some of Shadow's Coding, this was a raw move on Shadow's part imo and it achieves absolutely nothingwell, that's not entirely true.. as it certainly serves to alienate Doomer from this community and put a stop his excellent and timely work I think if 3Doomer will remove Shadow's code part, the problem will be solved. MrPaul123
TheChopShop you're really not helping... We need a mod to reopen the thread so these guys can continue to work their magic! TheChopShop
We need a mod to reopen the thread so these guys can continue to work their magic! I think you're misstating, that sentence denotes that they're a team yeah, I know.. calln a spade a spade never helps anything, it's always better to sweep everything under the rug ..when will I learn
MrPaul123
Well they are different projects... and different projects have different teams, this doesnt mean one cannot provide support for another ones project. Thats what good-nts means i think, basically he meant 3Doomer isnt part of the openiv development team, he has his own script project that is seperate . But i know what you mean. You really should learn not to call a spade a spade, it is quite annoying Edited April 14, 2011 by MrPaul123
coin-god
The guy is mistaking "helping others" with "teaming up with others". 2 diferent things.
TheChopShop
^ not at all, the mistake is yours.. as I've already said, just the fact that 3Doomer's scripts export Obd/Obn, and being that his intentions are/were to export Odr instead of Wdr says it all or were you kats under the impression that 3Doomer decrypted and reverse engineered Wbd's? ..that would be GooD - and since Good gave 3Doomer the format to use in his scripts, which would then be used in conjunction with OIV and OFs denotes that they were a team (ie- working together) - so you can save that poor technicality of 'helping others' garbage I respect and appreciate both GooD and 3Doomer's works ..but the fact is GooD blatantly threw 3Doomer under the bus which compromises their relationship and associated projects how would you feel if you were in 3Doomer's shoes ..if a kat you've been working hand in hand with starts blathering 'he's not with me, he's not on my team' at the first sign of "trouble"? idk about you people, but I'd be pissed edit- @Paul - yeah, I'm well aware of the annoyance, as it's vice versa for kats like me when listening to timid 'lets not make a fuss' kats like you.. thpppt lol -------------------------------------------- Edited April 15, 2011 by TheChopShop

GooD-NTS
TheChopShop, you get this in wrong way. The only thing that I what to say in prev posts is 3Doomer not a part of the OpenIV development team and OpenIV team not working on GIMS. Thats all, I'm not saying that we not working together, we are. but the fact is GooD blatantly threw 3Doomer under the bus which compromises their relationship and associated projects how would you feel if you were in 3Doomer's shoes ..if a kat you've been working hand in hand with starts blathering 'he's not with me, he's not on my team' at the first sign of "trouble"? No, no, nothing like that, I'm sorry if you get it like that.
TheChopShop
that's honestly refreshing to hear.. as it certainly seemed to be the opposite considering the circumstances and my apologies to anyone who may have thought I was trying to incite a riot or stir the pot sort of speak.. as that was not my intention I was just like.. wth? and questioning what kind of person would do that to a friend/partner.. but I'm glad that's not the case
MrPaul123
@Paul - yeah, I'm well aware of the annoyance, as it's vice versa for kats like me when listening to timid 'lets not make a fuss' kats like you.. thpppt lol -------------------------------------------- This is the internez, making a fuss like you did usually achieves nothing because you misunderstood what he meant anyway. Instead of being a smart ass, and copying the meaning of words from the dictionary to achieve your sarcastic message to the openiv development team which achieves nothing, why not provide support instead? Ive seen many a tool dev leave the forum because of one or two people who moan, insult or be a smart ass. That is all. Now where is the key to unlock this thread?
3Doomer
Of course, I'd better create another thread for GIMS. Shadow's DLLs're removed from the script package, because I haven't modified them. Now, WDR exporter in GIMS'll search for Shadow's plugin installed to use the DLLs. I've looked into these DLLs(.NET's an opensource platform, you know), and created my own script, which uses them as I like.

Terreur69
Version 0.2.0 (01.11.2010) * Enabled WDR Export * Added Light Setup script It's been a year that wdr customize posible finally, you have the eternal First guy allow a creationt of maps, the modding on GTA IV is finally developer, he saluted wait 2 years to be able to do that , then we Good-nts and 3Doomer took over and we create OpenIV / GIMS that can change everything in the game, but it would not feel anything, if you have not created the Shadow's-plugin, so thank you shadow!
