Brown Sugar
you actually used a racing line, I never do that on gta
kaskah
I find GTAIV's driving & damage physics are top notch compared to other online racers, I also use a "racing line" since all I play is the race playlist. All the other playlists are dead.
JOSEPH X
I find GTAIV's driving & damage physics are top notch compared to other online racers, I also use a "racing line" since all I play is the race playlist. All the other playlists are dead. They're not dead, just not as popular as RACE, which still fills up a lobby with 16 players in a minute. GTA Race and DM are still popular too. Nice driving BTW, I'll have to try that little short cut on the bridge next time. "Stroking my own e-dick" I have the world's 89th best time on "heart stopper" XBL
Nitty Don
Nice time my best so far is 1:55;18 ! Whilst we are holdin our e-schlongs I have a 1:45;365 on Heel and toe, anyone here got any better ?
Anasterian
you could have done a 1.44 easily... At 1.24 you could have taken the corner tighter and the jump at broker-algonquin bridge you could have avoided the hit sparing another bit of time and those 2 random rail hits were...random? Just before finish you could have(yeah, i like repeating myself ) avoided that lamp post...not to mention those slippery turns.
kaskah
yeah I know, I would have gotten it if I didn't wear off my tire's those three previous laps =[ And those two random rail hits... it boosts the car just a bit.. the last turn was a bad one cause if you look really close, I hit a little *speed* bump by accident which caused me to almost spin out. but thanks for the feedback! Nitty Don
And those two random rail hits... it boosts the car just a bit.. This is the first I have heard on this technique and I have been racing since the day this game was released Can anyone else confirm this gives you a boost ?? and if there are any other tracks this works on ?? GTA-Bobski
I can, although I don't race on the console anymore and only do pc races. Driving on the sidewalk gives a 10% speedboost. On tracks like Taxiing driving on the grass gives a small speedboost. Use the wall when possible on tracks like Exhaust Fumes or Driving while High. On the pc we call it wallhugging, but maybe the car physics are differentso you have to try for yourself. *EDIT* Exhaust Fumes example Edited August 12, 2010 by GTA-Bobski
JOSEPH X
The best examples of wall hugging are on Quick Knives and Bogan's Run. The slip road where you join the freeway lets you ride vertical and put's you right side up as you exit. There's even a pick-up on Bogan's Run in GTARace that you can only get if you're wall hugging, it's the last left on the overpass before you make the right down to Windmill St. station. GTA-Bobski
Actually, that's called "wallclimbing" I know, that sounds stupid but there's a difference between those two when driving a fast lap and trying to explain it. Quick Knives is a perfect track for talking about pro tips though. It has a shortcut right after the start, then the frogjump over the fontain, then the part with wallclimbing and right after that a bit of wallhugging to gain extra speed for the jump to the finish. Luckely for us most racers don't understand the tracks that way
