Who f*cking cares about the 90s! I'm born in 1995 so much of the 90s is like a f*cking blur to me anyway. Just f*cking keep to the present, is that too f*cking much to ask?

I was born in 1985, but I don't want to see another 80s, 90s, or 00s game. I either want future or 50s-70s. We've already seen what R* does with the other era's, its time to see what they do with these.

I dont know, we already covered the 80s and 90s pretty well. I say we do Vice City and San Andres of current times, then Europe of late 60s/early 70s consisting of London, Paris, and Amsterdam.

OT: I really rooting for a 70s GTA. I am born in 1975, so I know really little about that period except the music. And seeing films like American Gangster brings up my interest into US' 70s crime and gangs. And it would be cool to see mostly 70s muscle cars on the streets like the Gran Torino.

While most guys want to see a 60s/70s or modern day setting in the next GTA, I think I'd love a 80s or 90s setting all over again. Specially the 90s because it was when I was a child and I pretty much remember the limitations in tech we had (CDs were weird in the early 90s, Internet was an oddity and consoles like Playstation had "awesome" graphics). PLus the cars were good looking but there were fewer "round" and ultra aerodinamic cars like the ones we have now. Also, the music was awesome back then, for oldies you had the great 70s and 80s soundtrack, and "modern" stuff would be bands  like Nirvana. Think about that

 

Another 90s GTA game would really bring back nostalgia. And with the level of detail the series has now, the parodies would rock.

it makes you realize how fast technology changes. one minute we have SD tvs then next we have 3D tvs.

oh yeah your completely right. dont learn about the past so youll make the same mistakes people did before you, which is one of the points of learning history, to learn from past mistakes. no one said you had to listen to the radio to play gta, why dont you just put a radio next to you while you play the game. FYI not all games are supposed to be relevant to you. you dont see halo set in 2010 do you? i dont see how the 90s is so much different from the 2000s that its completely irrelevant. did they speak chinese in the US in the 90s? wats so much different? you dont like that they dont have any iphones in the 90s? is that it? is the music so much different? not really.

I doubt GTA would go back to the 80s and 90s, because I think Rockstar covered those times pretty well, but I think that the best times for GTA V are either the 10s, 60s, and 70s. 10s because it would be awesome to see VC or SA of current times with the graphics we saw in GTA 4. If the game is in Europe, the 60s and 70s would be absolutely badass, becauseof a cultural clash, and a lot of African and Middle Eastern immigrants went to Europe after decolonization, and some started gangs, so that would be perfect timing.

I am really hoping that the next Grand Theft Auto gets set in 1960's. The era is so ripe and unused in video game culture. The only game I remember actually visualising the 60's in a good way (Albeit a parody) was Destroy all Humans 2. Come on, Rockstar would make a masterpiece out of the 60's era.

I'd like a modern GTA similar to GTA IV, having the game set decades ago is not nearly as fun.

@Nativedeem, Pac was most popular right before his death, in the mid 90's. Same with Biggie. Only Eazy E was really popular in the early 90's, and he came out in the 80's.

You realise if their was no 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's then now would be a hell of a lot different and the 60's and 80's were obviously the best periods of music history.

 

I think a 60's GTA set in London or San Fierro would be fantastic.
