Toca
Hello guys, first I must say that, I'm here from 2008 and I wasn't pretty active, so now, I'm slowly getting in mood. Ok, I'm a big fan (as many of you out there) of GTA IV physics... Flying, rolling, falling... So, I want to hear your wishes, guys, about your GTA V physics! So here are few of mine: - Breakable bones = Getting hit by a car? You'll have difficulties walking home (Or driving). Shooting pedestrian in the leg with desert eagle? - He won't get up soon. - Decapitate-able body parts = It would be gory... But a lot more fun to watch when you're gone for a walk out of the helicopter (or hopefully plane). I really hope they will add these... But there are small chances they will remember. Dear x Sergio
I really hope they will add these... But there are small chances they will remember. Why wouldn't they remember the physics? The folks at R* aren't amateurs. I'm sure they understand how important the physics in IV was to its reception and longevity. Your ideas are all solid; however, they're probably battling violence restrictions. I doubt we'll see dismemberment nor decapitation, but I do hope they tune up some things. They also need more areas to mess around with (more places to push peds off, etc etc).

oc student
GTA 3 was cartoony, gore didn't really feel realistic. I'd like trees that fall down, break in different places.
MrcTOtheJ
With some minor fixes on IV's physics I'd be happy, like when you barely get taped by a car your stagers for a month or two waiting to get back to normal. Also I'd like that breakable bones thing that Toca mention though instead it's should be if your damaged allot and near death you start limping, and can't run as far/long. Also I don't think that flying bodies parts would be a problem, allot of M rated games have allot of gore so it might happen though I could care less if it dose/dosen't. Gojuggah
destructible buildings that remain that way when you return to them after a while . thats all gta v needs to be master !!!
Nativedeem
what? that stupid. what if im on a mission, im on a rooftop, then i break my leg somehow. what now? cant go down the stairs or ill probably break my other leg.

No, you'll fall downstairs as in real life, you won't break anything (except if you have bad luck), all I wanted to say is... More possibilities, more fun. Oh and yeah, gta v missions won't be super easy as in gta iv if they include physics I was talking about. Edited August 8, 2010 by Toca
_Rob_
gibbing, severed limbs for sure, but if breaking limbs got involved it'd suck, what's next, coma's !!
phillipwnd
Breaking your leg wouldn't seem all that serious since at some point in the very near future, the protagonist would be walking normal again. Unless you mean their legs stay broken until you die? In which case, they'll need to implement drivable wheelchairs. Which they need to do anyways, am I right?! Aside from that, I think it would be cool to see chunks of cement breaking off when you hit a wall with your car. Little things like that. And some more physics objects (like car parts) that go flying when you're crashing around into things. It would make chases and the like a little more exciting. I'd also like to see more AI "events" happen. Like how you'll randomly see cops chasing someone. It's not exactly a physics thing, but the physics of GTA IV make those kinds of things more unpredictable thus more fun. (Which is why they needed a pedestrians riot cheat SO bad in this one.) Shooting pedestrian in the leg with desert eagle? - He won't get up soon. I'd like if they implemented this, that means you'd have to use cover more instead of just running around gunning, but it should also affects civilians & enemies alike, I mean how come I shoot a gangmenber in the arm, legs and chest multiple times and he stands up like nothing and keeps on shooting with perfect accuracy? SammiiDoogles
Just some changes to the car damage, not sure it's specifically related to physics but it would be cool if the roof of the car collapsed if you flipped it with enough force; it always seems wierd to me how it just sorta spins on its roof when you flip a car... VickeX
I'd like to see a slight improvement in the RAGE/Euphoria mixed engine they use for character rag doll physics. A bit like in Red Dead Redemption. Even better, if possible. I 'd also like to see the game world work in harmony with the physics. Like someone said previously. More places with opportunities for us to push people down from. And places/objects to do something fun with the veichles. You know, like the Wind Surfer Billboard Advertisement in GTA VC which you could use to jump onto the roof of the airport, and a statue close to the Hospital in Los Santos, San Andreas which made it possible to drive a bike up to a ledge of a building. Some sort of statue that would let you drive a car up in a spiral, maybe. That would be really cool. I'd also like to see highly elevated lookout points with binoculars that pedestrians could use... From there, you could push the peds out over the edge and fall quite a bit. That would be nice. There is a place like that in GTA IV, and i'm sure you all know which one i'm talking about, but in the next GTA i want a place like that that is more open. That place felt was so closed up. I'd like that outlook point to look down to a boardwalk next to the ocean. That would be some pretty awesome scenery aswell.
Ggtfg773
you know what would be f*cking epic if they mix the physics engines of havok/RAGE/euphoria that would make the game alot epicer

Just look at how far car damage has come. Cars can be all twisted now, and even drive differently because of it. They could easily make it so a wheel can come completely off, while your car leans and limps by because of it. And for the walls I'm not talking being able to ram into a building until it ultimately eventually collapses. Just a few semi-breakable walls throughout the city. Like those low concrete walls you would find bordering a parking lot. The key word is "more" here. GTA IV had random foot chases, people randomly looking in trunks, etc. But there could have been even more to that list. And I don't recall, did they exclude car chases entirely from IV? I remember it in SA, and wondered why I didn't see it more in IV. It's fun to watch AI opposing each other in some way.

They could just make them break into sections, too. It wouldn't need to be all that intuitive.
