theawesomeaccount
OK then, here's my deal. To all administrators: this topic is not here to provoke any issues, flame wars, etc. etc, but is here to protest something that shouldn't even be here in the first place. This thread doesn't seem to be a violation of the terms of service so I don't see why it should be shut down. Here's what's going on. There are more people than you can count here that would love an unlocked CVPI model for GTA IV that can be used for development purposes. Yes, everybody here understands that Chasez, bxbugs123 and Dottgamma (12904819) are afraid of having "their" work "stolen". And to tell you the truth, there are dumbass people out there that would take it and not give proper credits. But that sh*t happens all of the time and no matter what people will do it. Also, let me put it this way - a small game development community has already seen someone working on cracking the file format for a GTA IV model (.wft), which is the one thing needed to create an unlocker tool. Locks are meant to be unlocked, doors are meant to be opened, rules are meant to be broken, etc. etc. And eventually that will happen, people will get a hold of an unlocker tool for GTA IV and then it will be GTA SA all over again - locks will be unlocked. Aside from that fact, the number of people who want the CVPI for development purposes outweighs the number of people who want it for "theft" purposes. Face it guys, you know that the only fa**ot who would steal it is Baz and that redhockey fa**ot who owns ARP and GEV. And look at those two - banned, either crying in a corner or leading a very poor site. Plus, those two have stolen and, again, are banned and have their names plastered all over the internet labeled as those who steal. Even if somebody did try to steal the unlocked model, people would find out and they would end up like Baz and redhockey did. If that still isn't convincing enough then listen to this - an unlocked model of the CVPI would do this community so much good. Now, I'm not asking Chasez, bxbugs123 or Dottgamma (12904819) to release an unlocked model with every single part, accessory, or addition they've ever made on it. We don't need lightbars, partitions, consoles, guns or laptops to make more mods. We only need a car to start out on. Right now the model is only being distributed to those who have proved they can mod for IV. Some people may need something to start modding on more than others. You'd never know. There are several people that I can name that could use this model that can make magnificent mods for IV but can't if they don't have a decent model to start with. Not only would you be seeing less people on the forums requesting sh*t, but you would see more and more sh*t that people want made. You would see more developments for the IV engine and game itself. You wouldn't just see the same CVPI model with a new lightbar every other week released. People could use their own imagination instead of having it be controlled by 4 or 5 certain people. Here's what I'm proposing to the few people who hold the unlocked CVPI model. Instead of having fa**ot after fa**ot come on the forums and flame you because it isn't unlocked, we actually have a civilized vote as to whether or not the CVPI for IV should be public domain, unlocked for people to use on their own. IF you would like to see the CVPI model for GTA IV unlocked and posted out in the community, please post in this thread and say "Yes", and give a short reason why. If you don't, then please post in this thread and say "No", and give a short reason why. One post per person, one account per person. Simple as that. Now, seeing as this thread is very simple and does not endorse any kind of terms of service infractions or violations, I would like to keep it that way so that people who want to voice their opinion can. As for people who wish to troll in the thread and try to counteract every "Yes" or "No" post: f*ck you. You're probably one of the fa**ots who would f*ck an unlocked release up anyway. As for all admins on this site and the holders of the CVPI (bxbugs123, chasez, dottgamma, etc.): this isn't a thread starting any kind of hate, don't get rid of it. Listen to what people have to say, have a heart, and if you feel that enough people can do even more good with an unlocked release then please do, give out an unlocked copy. XTREME0235
Opinion choice: No. Reason: Why can't you just accept the fact that those modelers don't want to unlock their models to the likes of you or any other citizen of the net, bad or good it really doesn't matter. I know where your going about the stealing, but to be honest, i am strongly supportive of the decision to lock models and the modelers reason being they don't want their work stolen, modified, released and then claimed to be someone else's model from scratch, only for that 'stealer' if you will, to get criticized and flamed at later on for nothing. Just respect the modelers choice weather or not to lock or unlock the model, some little petition won't change anything (IMO that is) I just don't see it happening, and yes there will be people here who will disagree with me about this and my opinion. But you just need to accept it as i have stated roughly 3 times in this post already. I also understand it would be good to have unlocked models for the public to try out and learn the basics on as you said, but i have respect for the modelers that lock their models for that specific reason. If the model was sent to someone specifically for private modeling and no release publicly, then i would support the unlocked models, but apart from that my decision opinion still stands. Just let it go and learn to model, texture, convert etc. By the way, i see your new to this network. Welcome to GTAForums! XTREME0235.
quechus13
First of all WELCOME TO GTA FORUMS! This is a good thing for everybody sometimes i forget to make an unlocked version of my work and sometimes i need something like an unlocker for San Andreas there is a DFF Unlocker which helped me alot. Now you should ask the author of the model for permission a petition won't work.
DoTTGaMMa
Look... This is how it is. All of R* models in-game are unlocked! practice on those for a while. and along with R* are many modded vehicles that are NOT the CVPI that you can work on. If, or when we notice you are skilled enough to handle the vehicle, you will most likely get it... Thats how everyone has got it, why don't you guys give it a try and stop complaining about it.
