-beeblebrox-
Hello graphicfolk. I'm currently using a slightly resized version of this picture as a wallpaper on my 1280x800 desktop. http://host.trivialbeing.org/fofr/images/l...nswallpaper.jpg Now I quite like it, but since it's a still from a movie, it's a bit blurry, and I've been wondering if it'd look better as some sort of abstract image, or if it was sharpened up a little somehow. So, I'd be interested to see what any of you could do with this, any sort of enhancements or amendments that keep the understated, classy feel of the original image would be appreciated. Thanks
UNRATED69
Any of these okay? http://i1007.photobucket.com/albums/af196/...m%202/lost5.jpg http://i1007.photobucket.com/albums/af196/...m%202/lost4.jpg http://i1007.photobucket.com/albums/af196/...m%202/lost3.jpg http://i1007.photobucket.com/albums/af196/...m%202/lost2.jpg http://i1007.photobucket.com/albums/af196/...m%202/lost1.jpg
The-King
Hmm, sounds like an interesting project. I might be willing to do a vector of it and add some fancy details, flourishes and such. It's a cool picture, though I haven't actually seen Lost In Translation. Maybe you could give me a synopsis of what the mood of that scene was and I could work that into the composition. |PropagandaIncorporated:|: Steam:|: DeviantArt:|: Last.FM|
-beeblebrox-
@UNRATED69: That's exactly the kind of thing I had in mind (but had no idea how to do), out of those 'lost2' is my favourite, although 1 and 4 are close runners-up. Trouble is they're too small now, would I be able to get 1280x1024 versions of those three? @The-King: I'd love to see what you can do with this as well, like to see the different ideas you guys can come up with. The general story in this part of the film is that her and Bill Murray's character are both staying in this Tokyo hotel feeling lonely and a bit confused about where their lives are heading. These doubts about life are keeping them awake at night, and they keep seeing each other in the hotel bar until they eventually strike up a conversation. So she's not being seductive or anything, they just find each other intriguing, being two westerners in a foreign culture, both sitting in a bar at 3am. Hope that helps, I apologise if I've gone a bit too deep there, it's pretty much my favourite film
UNRATED69
Sorry about that. Robinski
Thought I'd have a go at this. Something different from the usual grunge/gangsta/military sigs we always seem to be doing here. I quite like it actually. It's definitely going in my personal wallpaper folder.

Robinski
Sometimes it's keeping things simple that makes an image look good. I literally only did a handful of things to the pic. Off the top of my head it: was slight Dry Brush filter> Cut out the woman Scarlett Johansson+glass> copy to new layer> increase size of the rear layer> heavily crystallise same layer> gaussian blur same layer again. Then crop, obviously. EDIT: Woah, how did I not realise that that was Scalrett Johansson? Edited August 6, 2010 by Robinski
Drift-Kingz
Here's mine. I added a little frost effect and darkened the pic a little. Also added some surface blur and an unsharp mask. http://i34.tinypic.com/2qle32d.jpg
-beeblebrox-
Crap, I missed this reply, sorry. That's an interesting one, but I think my eyes might go a bit weird looking at that for too long, with the jaggedy blur and all, think it loses a bit too much of the detail as well
