Crackling sound...

Every time I start San Andreas and load or start a new game, I get the crackling sound bug, as if the sound is very low quality or shaky. Strangely, the problem has only occurred recently, and has never happened before until a recent reinstall. I don't really understand why the sound of the game, or my sound drivers would just fail, or crash on me during the game. I have Sigmatel Audio drivers, and I know that EAX doesn't support integrated sound cards but this problem has never happened and I'm quite worried. I've tried everything from downgrading EAX, Lowering acceleration(which did actually lessen the noise and frequency), and I even tried reinstalling, and deleting all traces, and saved files of GTA. This is a very unsettling situation for me, and I was wondering if others have had the same problem or can help me with my bug

Before going too far, as a lot of time is wasted on trying to fix a no-fix situation:

Are you playing the game with the Original DVD in the Drive? You are not trying to use a No-CD program or crack.

If you Downloaded your game: is it from other than Direct2Drive or SteamPower.com?

 

When posting a problem, be sure to include the following information about your computer:

Operating system (Windows users: be sure to mention if you have XP or Vista, and which Service Pack you have)

Video/Graphics card type and how much dedicated graphics memory (or is it shared?)

Processor

RAM (random access memory)
