What CoD was your favorite

The original Call of Duty and United Offensive. Best characters, best story, best gameplay, best setting, best ammount of weaponry... or wel just overall the best Call of Duty games ever made up to this day. They're quite frankly the ONLY Call of Duty games in my opinion. From Call of Duty 2 onwards the series became mediocre console FPS games. Nothing more, nothing less. World at War has shown some 'brilliance' and 'originality' with Zombies. It was fun, addictive and a fresh breath in the franchise. Thing was that there was no lasting value to it. It became really boring after 20 levels. Just more zombies to slaughter and especially when you had gotten all the perks (and/or upgraded weapons) it was all about fighting the boredom instead of being the better player.

 

I won't deny that Call of Duty 2 and the 'onward' Call of Duty games were fun. I played them alot and were alot of fun. They added new and cool things to the franchise... but removed alot of other things aswell. Same for the Battlefield franchise (BF2 and pre BF2 games compared to BFBC1/2 + 1943). But I guess it's the console movement and mainstream movement at work...

word. call of duty was unique and UO was a blast. It was original and fresh at the time

Get Cod4 or some other original Cod cause MW2 is not a CoD game. I don't hate the game, I hate the people that abuse the flaws in the game. There are a lot of things you can get angry in MW2 but in Cod4 its basically just the M16, Juggernaut and thats all I hate about Cod4.

I never played the original. CoD 3 was decent, and I never played multiplayer for CoD 2 (there was a time when i didnt have live and i resorted to playing the single player only). Only one of my friends had WaW, so in the end CoD 4 was my fav. All my friends played it,and the campaign wasn't bad. MW2 was horrible IMO.

Well, I don't think Modern Warfare 2 is horrible. Its has lots of flaws but it doesn't make it a bad game. It's the people that play the game and abuse the flaws which makes it really, really annoying. After April of 2010 I just played in Private matches with my friends. Its way funner to just play with your friends in Private matches and make up really funny rules. My favorite we ever did was playing hide and seek on Derail. Its soooo hard to find people in Derail in normal games and its like hell if you play hide and seek.

maybe it's different for me, but the many flaws in that game definitely ruin the experience. and none of my friends played private match until AFTER my disc cracked.

My ass that's all there is. You forgot to mention the constant nade spam (thanks to the ever so brilliant Frag x 3 perk), the steady aim sprayfags and of course the limitless legion of morons who think it's the greatest multiplayer game of all time.

CoD4 might not be better, but it's usually more enjoyable for me and that is what counts.

I absolutely loved Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The whole Pripyat thing blew me away and the nuclear explosion scene when you're in the helicopter was just awesome.

 

Probably one of my all-time favourite games.

CoD2, CoD4 gets the 2nd place. Third is WaW. The only other one I have is MW2, but it doesn't deserve a fourth place. Not at all.

Too bad in the polls its fourth, But IMO its one of the poorly made Cods.

I never really played CoD4's multiplayer, and MW2's lost all appeal after playing BC2. Story wise, MW2 is definitely my favourite. I love over the top stuff, and it nailed it. Also, Spec Ops is awesome. f*ck the map packs, if they released a Spec Ops DLC, I'd get that in a second.

Yeah, I really loved the sniper spec ops. I could do it with no problem now on Veteran.

United Offensive needs more love... it was basically a vastly improved CoD (which Id consider 2nd best). It had the atmosphere, variety and smooth gameplay that I love (in fact Id actually consider CoD 2 a step back in some ways). And the multiplayer was the sh*t.

I'd have to go with Modern Warfare since it was my first COD (I played Medal of Honor mostly) and it blew my du-rag back. It was my first xbox 360 game. And it was the first FPS I've ever played online.

From the epic battle of the bulge where you make your getaway in a jeep, and then dig in on the front line waiting for a counter attack with a 30cal machine gun, to running around a B-17 flying fortress gunning down the Luftwaffe, to commanding a tank in the largest tank battle in WWII.

 

And the multiplayer. Holy sh*t, it was amazing. Definitely my favorite multiplayer game of all time. There was nothing like hiding in a building, hearing a tank rolling by, then peeking out just to squeeze off a bazooka round into it's ass and seeing it pop like a cork. Or organizing a giant tank assault and just rolling over the other team. The best part was that on most maps, camping was obsolete. You never were safe from artillery strikes, tanks and bazookas. Damn, I think I want to reinstall it.

I never play United Offensive. I played the first CoD but didn't like it. But when Cod2 came out, my friends told me that it was an amazing game so I bought it and it was a good game.k And that is when I got hooked to CoD. But after what you said about United Offensive I think you shouldn't reinstall it but send it to me. lol.

Call of Duty 3 was the first I played, and Call of Duty 4 was the first I actually paid attention to. But, for my favorite, Call of Duty World at War is the winner. I had so much fun with that game. I beat the story many times and had many funny times playing Nazi zombies with my friends. I just loved everything about that game.
