GTA3Freak-2001 Posted August 4, 2010 Share Posted August 4, 2010 EA have just announced the sequel to NFS Shift titled Need For Speed Shift 2 in their latest financial press release which also lists a Q1 2011 release. I gather Gran Turismo 5 has something to do with a new NFS with simulation like properties so soon. I just don't understand why they don't drop the NFS for just Shift and keep the NFS moniker for the Criterion team. nixxio Posted August 4, 2010 Share Posted August 4, 2010 (edited) NFS shift was quite a good game but there were some problems with it imo that they'll hopefully fix in the next game, like how cars somehow "drift" around a corner even if you're just going around a corner normally, and also the drift mode, which I never touched, but that's about it really. example of what I'm talking about. I liked the career mode though and sh*t, its much better and more entertaining than beating personal times with GTR evo around the nurburgring. radltzx Posted August 4, 2010 Share Posted August 4, 2010 Even though I never completed the first nfs shift carrer mod, I think it was a pretty good game. I loved the cockpit camera and how the car handled with a steering wheel. Really looking forward to this one and hope it will be even more realistic and challenging. And a bit less shiny.. @Cojage: yeah, but HP is being developed by Criterion Studios, I think, and shift is prabably again by Slightly Mad Studios and EA Black Box. Benzoboy Posted August 4, 2010 Share Posted August 4, 2010 The first sh*t was a load of sh*t, and it had possibly the worst physics of any 'simulation' ever, don't even get me started on the drifting. Sometimes I see a car sliding over the ground, just sliding and flipped! And this game has less amount of cars wich sucks more hardcore and some of the nice cars in previous NFS game has been taken out. Very less muscle cars and only new gen cars. I hope EA takes a look at the sharp tires mod by juls(doubt it), because it seriously fixes all the problems I had with nfs shift, heck I had to use the momo this time since the ps3 controller couldn't cut it, needed finer control.
