All around the world, day and night, sun, rain and snow – DiRT® 3™ gets set to tear up 2011 with

the most content ever featured in the acclaimed racing series.

Receiving its worldwide broadcast television premiere during this year’s Summer X Games coverage on ESPN

channels, Codemasters® today released the official DiRT 3 trailer video in HD. Revealing the first details on the

biggest, content-rich racer ever to roar out of Codemasters Studios.

The DiRT 3 video opens with WRC driver Ken Block leading the field as his iconic Monster Energy-branded Ford

Fiesta rally car kicks up a dust storm in a sundried Kenyan rally stage. Seamlessly hurtling into a torrential

downpour on a muddy Finnish lakeside course, Block then jumps into a Norwegian stage that’s thick with snow.

Racing onto tarmac, a Ford RS200 classic rallycross car races into view and goes head-to-head with Block and

a Mitsubishi Evo X in rallycross spec in the hills above Monaco.

The pace then changes as man and machine demonstrates what the very best drivers can do with a rally car in

a Gymkhana-style performance. Set in the open environment of London’s disused Battersea Power Station, this

skills showpiece delivers a new layer of depth to the DiRT series’ variety of action-sports racing.

Coming 2011, DiRT 3 will boast more cars, more locations, more routes and more events than any other game

in the series, including over 50 rally cars representing the very best from five decades of the sport. With more

than double the track content of 2009’s hit, DiRT 3 will see players start at the top as a professional driver,

with a top-flight career in competitive off-road racing complimented by the opportunity to express themselves

in Gymkhana-style showpiece driving events.

As players race to elevate their global standing, DiRT 3 delivers mud, sweat and gears world over: from the

intense weather-beaten rally stages of Europe, Africa and the US, to executing performance driving showcases

and career challenges where car control is pushed to spectacular limits. DiRT 3 is now in development at

Codemasters Studios for a 2011 release for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from

Microsoft®, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and PC Games For Windows® LIVE.

One of few racing games I enjoy. Dirt 2 was awesome. I'm looking forward to this one.

They might as well call it Ken Block Rally 2010! As much as I enjoyed Dirt2 I still yearn for the Colin McRae Rally days so to me the series ended with the death of Mr McRae.

It has definitely become something completely different than what it started out as.

Is that really the official logo?

Looks very similar to the Monster Energy drink logo.

Aah wow.gif Why is the logo changed (in the vid)?

From the trailer, it looks good and all. I've been playing Dirt2 since it was out and I still play it now... It's just so intense and fast paced, let's hope this one has that too biggrin.gif

Looks interesting. Although, it's nothing about McRae anymore.

But obviously the logo in the topic isn't official.

Yeah that is not the official logo. This is: user posted image

I read (and as you can probably tell from the trailer) that they're going to be concentrating a bit more on rally this time, ofcourse there's still going to be buggies, trucks and all that stuff. dozingoff.gif I really loved rally on dirt2, too bad there wasn't much rallying to do. I hope they'll add a buttload of it it this time..

Not sure if you're serious or just taking the piss, but Dirt2 was sponsored by monster smile.gif

Awesome trailer. I liked how it changed from hardcore into a more mellow feel. I loved 2 and will be looking forward to this. Although 2 did get a bit repetitive over time, but i still enjoyed it more than any other driving game.

Trailer looks awesome. Dirt 2 was alright, but it was an obvious arcade rallygame unfortunately. A little too arcade. But other than that it was fun, except that it only had a handful tracks and cars. So they should focus on more content now smile.gif

If the trailer is anything to go by hopefully we are going to get some weather effects like snow and wet weather which will be nice.

Loved both of the past two games but there were far to many X games, buggy and Baja events in the second one. I'm hoping for a lot more standard rallying events and more tracks apart from 3 tracks with each track having 3 routes.

This is getting the new engine as well isn't it that the F1 game is using? should look quality if it does.

Is that really the official logo?

No, and sorry for the confusion this has lead to. The logo in this topic is my own design, as I found the official one quite dull. tounge.gif

I don't think they've released any official screenshots yet, but once I stumble across some, I'll be sure to add them to the main post.

Although, it's nothing about McRae anymore.

I haven't seen any mention of Colin McRae in regards to DiRT3, at all. It seems that the game is just called "DiRT3" and nothing more.

EDIT:

I added a few screenshots from the trailer, and one of a posing Ken Block. Not sure how official that one is, but it found it quite amusing. tounge.gif

Oh I didn't know that. I only played one race from the game at my mates house. Never really got into the game.

I actually added the text afterwards, so you're well excused. tounge.gif

Meh, it just seems like a Ken Block/Monster Energy wankfest. Still might get it though if it has decent Gymkhana

I really hope they go realistic as possible this time. Something more realistic than RBR even.

If they want the arcade racer people to buy it, they could simply add realism options so people can choose how realistic they want it to be. Like in GTR2.

I mean we really have enough and more arcade racers, a realistic one would be nice, especially a rallying game.

i agree about the fact that in dirt 2 there wasn't enough just normal rallying, dirt 3 should have less of that sh*t and focus on more standard rallying and the f1 game is using the same engine as dirt 2 and grid

just looked at the pics in the first post and is that an audi quattro in the first pic if so i can't wait to play dirt 3 driving the legendary audi quattro

Yep, that's an Audi Quattro S1. Good move to bring some Group B goodness to the show.
