nerz
Ok first off i am using windows vista and san andreas. I was trying to see if it was possible to move all my car mods from one computer to another by simply moving the gta3.img from computer one, which has the mods, to computer two. When i tried it did not work. First, is this possible. Second here is what is wierd for me and what i think if causing the problem, although i can't figure out a solution. I originally messed up some stuff on one of my img files so i just copied some stuff and reinstalled the game. Before i did that, or any modding actually, i backed up gta3.img and named it gta3 - copy img. with my my reinstalled game there is now only gta3.img but when i play it, THE MODS ARE STILL THERE. Hell when i got to open and img with img tool it shows two .img files, both of which are gta3.img and gta3 - copy.img from before i uninstalled. This is very wierd because if i navigate to the program files game directory /models there shows only 1 gta3.img. If i run img tool v2.0 as administrator it shows only 1 file as it did under the directory location under my computer. Where is img tool getting this version of gta3.img if my computer won't even show it? First off thanks in advance for any help. I tried to make this as short and clear as possible but if u don't understand anything i stated please let me know and ill try and make it clearer. nerz
wow. this compatibility thing solved it exactly. i consider myself computer literate but this is completly new to me. from what i understand, since i didnt open the file as administrator the file didnt really have the authority to post on the hard but, only in a viritual area, which that compatability views shows. that about right? andymau
yes it creates a virtual copy of itself and if u had tried to run the game in administrator mode then u would have seen no mods then as it would use the original copy of gta3.img
