Spherical
http://www.bondandbond.co.nz/computers/por...prod105333.html So how do you think this will run GTAIV? Edited August 1, 2010 by Spherical
mkey82
I wouldn't buy that laptop for GTAIV Find Nvidia N11P-GS1 here http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphi...List.844.0.html
Lodis
The processor in that laptop is good enough for GTA IV but it is let down by the Graphics so I wouldn't waste my time on that one. You want something like a Nvidia GTX 285M, GTX 280M or an ATI 5870 minimum.
Ultraman1966
Do you really need a laptop? A desktop at same price would have superior hardware.
Dominico
Do you really need a laptop? A desktop at same price would have superior hardware. I play GTA EFLC on my laptop, runs fine but I would upgrade it to run even smoother. And desktop PCs are so outdated, no one uses this kind of hardware, only at the office maybe. I give you a simple reason why you should have a laptop instead of desktop: you can carry it around everywhere, it's really slim and the LED screen is so much better than any PC monitor, it consumes less energy, did I mention you can carry it with you anywhere lol. yoječ
Desktops only in offices? Haha, that was funny. IMHO the only real reason to buy a laptop is if you need to be able to carry it everywhere. If you don't, then there is absolutely no point in overpaying for having not so well performing components squished into tight case. By buying a PC, you'll get much better value for money. Also there is no reason that laptop's screen should be any better that the standard one you plug to the PC. It's exactly the same kind of hardware. And not all laptops have LED backlighted LCDs. Anyway almost all of those LED displays have TN matrix, which sucks big time. MVA/PVA/IPS/etc. is much, MUCH better, totally different league. Yes, the whole point of laptop is its mobility but if you only play games at home like I do then it makes no sense. As I said earlier, for the same price I can get a better screen and hardware. I also hate typing with laptops but I guess one could get used to it.
Lodis
I know some people who mostly play games at home but it doesn't mean they want a Desktop. They play games on their sofa using a cooling pad, play in different rooms, GTA IV in bed, emulation in bed and pretty much anywhere around the house they feel like. They sometimes play older games on battery in the garden. They don't like to be restricted to a Desk or in one area. Do you think a Desktop will make them happy because they only play at home?, I doubt it. They could get a Desktop with all of that greater performance but what would be the point. This is the point many are missing. Even if you don't travel, it doesn't mean you want a Desktop. Edited August 2, 2010 by Lodis

This is the point many are missing. Even if you don't travel, it doesn't mean you want a Desktop. Finally someone who atleast understand why laptops are nicer than desktop. I hate to sit on one place and get my ass hurt sitting whole day. And like Lodis said, SA is older so I play indeed on battery. I have a midrange laptop wich SA doesnt lagg on battery sonce most CPU turns down the speed when on battery. I play IV nice at decent settings and intens copchase and explosions are no problems. So, what the heck I need desktop for? i already have a desktop and like Dominico said, desktops are so outdated. My desktop is bought 4 years ago. Upgrading would be useless and I use it only for watching movies and internet. For BluRay movies and games like IV, I play on laptop. So saying laptops are sucks is a very bad statement. You even dont have one touched and let alone looking at it. Of course most laptops are sucks like my sony Vaio, but some of them are good for heavy tasks. So you desktop fanboys should shut the hell up and let the topiccreator decide. @TC, you better get another laptop. That one is too expensive. Im sure the cheap ones are good for games as long as they have atleast nVidia 96xx and or much higher. About ATi I dont know.
