mkey82
So, does the suggested solution work or not?
hugh750
I'll have to reinstall eflc (because i uninstalled it) apply the game patch and the latest update for games for windows live and go from there and see what happens, and if it still doesn't work right i'll try your suggestion. hugh750
i got eflc installed but i still get the same protective storage error, and the only place i found it's save game folder was in local settings and i found a folder called invalid_user with a controlmap file? do i delete thos folders or what? mkey82
Well, if there are no savegames or anything, go on and delete them.
hugh750
Well, if there are no savegames or anything, go on and delete them. mkey82 have you had any luck with your suggestions for eflc? and anyone else who've had protective storage issues tried mkey82's suggestion have any luck with it? i'm asking is because i'm way too skiddish to try it right now (sorry mkey82). the protective storage issue has to be a software glitch, because i have fallout 3 and it installs games for windows live and i don't have any issues with it. hugh750
Well, if there are no savegames or anything, go on and delete them. mkey82 i tried your suggestion on gta 4 (because i though i'd try and see if i had the same issues with it, and i do so i deleted the rockstar folder in xp in "username/local settings" (which i'm running) and it works thank you for you help and for putting up with me now i'll try it on eflc and for anyone who has the same issues read mkey82's suggestion Edited August 13, 2010 by hugh750

hugh750
It worked more then once as far as I know. so far it's worked for me twice as well, but recently have you've noticed a drop in fps with recent patches? i have and my system meets most of the recommended system requirments for gta 4 and eflc. mkey82
This is probably because of the new, more demanding, shadow system.
hugh750
This is probably because of the new, more demanding, shadow system. i'm just curious do you also have to try to load the game more then once if the game ask you to put the origianl disk in drive even if it's still in your drive and some times not being able to authenticate your email and password? it does that to me sometimes (it will take me 2 or 3 trys before it loads normally) Edited August 15, 2010 by hugh750
