cidamelo
Hi friend, try to run your GTA III in Windows 98 Compatibility mode
massrcor
try restarting your computer 1st before you do anything drastic. open itunes, or whatever music player, and see if it plays any sounds/music. If it plays music and GTA III still doesn't work, then you know it's GTA III and not your sound hardware. Try reinstalling GTA III also... Alot of the time it's these simple things that are the problem.

Claude Speed.
There's a file or more missing from your Audio folder. You should have 197 files in that folder. Do you have them all?

cidamelo
AlfieWilRus hi friend, this is simple! Just right-click in the game shortcut, then click on "properties" and then in "compatibility"

radioman
There's a file or more missing from your Audio folder. You should have 197 files in that folder. Do you have them all? it says i only have where do i get all of the rest or just all t replace them? All of the files needed for the game are on the DVD(PS2/X-Box) and CD (disc 1 is the install disc and disc 2 is the play disc).Disc 2 has the Audio Files on it. All the needed files automatically get installed to your hard drive when you install the game, unless you downloaded the game from a source other than Steam/D2D, then you have missing files to cut down on the transfer rate (an illegal version), so basically, if you DO NOT have the CD 1 &2, OR you have not downloaded from Steam/D2D, then you have an illegal version, and you will not have a fully working game until you BUY the game legitimantly, which since the game is less than $10 now a days, the is absolutely NO REASON to NOT BUY a legit game.? Just a heads up. So, if you accidentally deleted some files, a simple un-install/re-install will get you where you need to be.
