II Goonah II Posted July 30, 2010 Share Posted July 30, 2010 (edited) Just a small point i'm sure most people will agree with? Three Leaf Clover mission in GTA IV was completely rushed. I do feel that R* need to re-think this sort of mission if they're planning on having another one in the next GTA. I think Vice City is a great example to use, Tommy Vercetti built a small organisation and really planned out the robbery of the bank which gave a real organised crime feeling, and the fact you were the leader made it that little bit more epic. Instead, in GTA IV is just happens without any planning (atleast that Niko is involved in) and it only includes the escape, theres no real genius involved, just blow the sh*t out of the bank and run. I want to see a more SanAndreas style of robbery (the build up and plan for robbing the casino was amazing) and really have a fear factor that messing it up is going to result in many problems. EDIT: Two points I forgot to add, I know that in GTA IV the bank robbery sort of messed up and it was ment to go much more smoothly but surely they'd have a back-up plan for that sort of thing? Having a full scale shoot-out with the police would want to be avoided at all costs, because realisticly you'd never get away with that + not to mention you simply would not be able to survive. In GTA SanAndreas however, you avoid fighting the police at all costs and parachute from the roof of the casino to a escape vehicle which was very well planned out. Also, a bank robbery mission should always come late in the game, not mid-way through like GTA IV. Because making a quarter of a million with alot more of the game to play through sort of feels fake, I know Niko isn't in that lifestyle purely for the money but still, it does kill the mood a little. It should always be one of the last missions, with missions to plan it out, I think this would be much more memorable. It would be more fun to be given enough options and flexibility so that you can devise and follow your own plan with various differing types of target (e.g. armoured truck, bank, jewellery store, etc) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The planning is like 70% of the movie. The planning in the game could be split up into 5 or 6 missions. A good example is the Calligulas Casino robbery in San Andreas. That worked out pretty well. Yes, it was very well planned out, and that's my point, I mean R* were trying to be much more realistic with GTA IV but then surely the bank robbery would have had a big build-up? Not only that, it builds up suspense and excitment which is always a addictive factor of any game. I must also say that Vice City and SanAndreas' robbery missions are the 2 biggest highlights for me in the GTA series, I want R* to bring that recent 'GTA trademark' part of the game. I keep seeing people mentioning this, and i'm not sure I like the sound of it, sounds like something Volition would try and do in a Saint's Row title... and fail. That said, I think R* are better at scripted gameplay rather than custom gameplay, but I guess they've never attempted it so who knows, i'm open to variety.
