tomb18
Hello, I seem to be having some trouble with GTA and my crossfire 5970 cards. If crossfire is enabled, the game works but the graphics are very basic. The resolution sets at 800x600 and the program tells me that I have gone over my resources. These are all in red and it says I am using 238/2048 memory. I cannot change any of the settings either. If I turn off crossfire, then I can manage the settings fine, but the graphics are pretty messed up at times. For example, peoples heads may just be the hair, and the teeth. Bridged show the land below the bridge (road is transparent). All of this occurs on the latest 10.7 drivers. If I downgrade to 10.4 all is fine. Any suggestions? Kenster1025
First off, did you actually physically break code? No so it isn't broken, it just doesn't want to run. Learn vocabulary dude before you sound like an idiot which I don't positively think you are.
Gilly1987
the new drivers are garbage for crossfire 10.4 are still the best drivers for cf unless ure using eyefinity, 10.5 are the best

mkey82
Make sure to clean old drivers first http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtop...entry1059006054
tomb18
I tried that. Made no difference. So, does GTA work in crossfire with 10.7? Ayone else specifically try this? Edit: I just got to thinking about something: The thing I notice is that the available memory says 2048 but in reality, there is only 1024 per processor (5970) (It's an internal crossfire and only 1024 meg is available to each gpu) Is this possible a reason why it may fail in non-crossfire mode? I don't believe that the memory can be addressed independantly like contiguous dram. Perhaps one needs a "availablevidmem 0.5" ? Could this be the cause of the lost textures? tomb18
Success. I did the install once again with the crossfire bridge off, then set the memory to 0.5 and GTA now works in crossfire. No more abnormal textures. Alls well.
