Ant tricks on how to win the betting tracks

As the title says is there any tricks to winning the betting tracks? Please help cause its really annoying I have tried for 5 hours and no win.

 

EDIT: If no one has an ideas or a trick doesn't exist why doesn't someone just says so?

You have to be very patient to win lots of money in the betting tracks and you will have to return there many times before you have some serious money. However, there are some ways to make it easier on you:

 

 

1. Wait until you have at least 20.000 dollar; starting with anything less will take even longer. You can get that money easy by shooting drug dealers, they usually carry about 2000 dollar with them.

 

2. Buy the house east of the park with the bridge over it (Glen Park?), it's in the Balla's controlled neighbourhood. The house costs 10.000 dollar so you have 10.000 left to gamble with. You need this house because it's close to the betting track under the big intersection. You can drive there from CJ's house in Grove Street too, but since you will have to drive there many, many, many times it will take a lot of time so the closer you are to the betting track, the better. Trust me, it's worth buying the house for. After buying the house, enter it and save there so that it's your starting location every time you reload the game.

 

3. Leave the house, shoot the driver in the nearest car in the head (goes faster than dragging them out), take the car, drive to the betting track and put all your money on the horse with the lowest chance of winning (1/2 of 1/3 rating, in my game it's always the blue horse) because then the profit is the highest when you win. Start the race and wait: if you lose (this will happen A LOT!) you simply reload and do the same thing over again. You will have to repeat, repeat and repeat until it's getting really boring, but every now and then you actually win and then you get about twice or triple the amount of money that you betted with. In that case: return to the house, save the game and return to the betting track to repeat the process with an even bigger amount of cash.

 

You only have to win about four or five times and then you have 2 million dollar or something and your money troubles will be over for the rest of the game. I know it's a very long-winded tactic to get rich but after that you never again have to kill drug dealers for some quick money or shoot Balla's or police officers to take their lousy pistols; instead you just walk into the Ammunation and get yourself the biggest machine gun, sniper gun, desert eagle and all the other great toys.

The horses with the lowest chance of winning are those with rating 1/11 or 1/12. If you will bet one dollar and win you'll get 11 or 12 dollars. Just put your cash on them. If you lose load save state and try again. I think it's easier to win in Montgomery than in LS.

Well in that case your bad horse only needs to win about twice, that's even faster.

Why do you think that? No matter where the betting track is located, they all link to the same minigame so as far as I know there isn't any difference between them.

 

I did try out whether the machine you use (most betting tracks have two), the car you drive there, the colour or name of the horse, etc. make any difference but they don't either. Winning or losing is pretty random.

I think that, because I was winning often if I was betting in Montgomery, but maybe it was just a coincidence.

I have 1,000 luck because I got the horse shoes in the beginning in the game and isn't luck supposed to make you win easier. I've done the patient one but it was just to long. But I guess thats how I have to do it. I thought it would be a lot quicker because the first time I played the game, I put in 100k on the 1/12 horse and I won 1.2 mil. But I guess the trick is to be patient but shouldn't horseshoes let you win faster.

I've never bothered with searching for horseshoes, oysters, graffity or other stuff, it just takes way too long. I did hear that horseshoes increase your luck with betting but I don't know whether that actually works.

From what I understand horseshoes give you 1\1000 chances of winning at gambling. On GTAwiki they say that's the number of chances to lose but from my experience that's incorrect. I have all the horseshoes and I still lose quite often. I think it only affects gambling and not betting.

When I first read a Review ot the game it had a comment/hint that:

If you had maximum stamina you could influence the running of a horse (that you bet on) by rapidly tapping the 'sprint' button/key during the race.

It seemed to work for me the two times I used it. But others have poo-pooed that.

Anyway, to make money I've found doing Firefighting missions more interesting.

I got 2 million and 800 thousand and early beginning,first i had 30 thousand by doing fire truck missions,done than after i also done pimping after that i bought a save house than go to betting i bet in all my money (30.000) I usually bet in yellow one because he Wins the mostly in my game he wins the mostly I win then go 300 thousand(300.000) then saved again then bet in all my money again(300.000) then bet on yellow and Won and got 2 million and 800 thousand (2.800.000) then saved if you lose load the game again then bet again,so I'm not very sure but you should bet on yellow one in my option he usually wins
