Stupid nearly identical radio commercials. I can't stand it when the Alcotine Patch one goes back to back with the Alco-Patch. Why did they make both of those in the first place anyway?

what i don't wanna see is hard to find packages/pigeons, or any of them for that matter, also a cramped map, like iv wanna see more open space.

also they can get rid of the lack of aircraft, MORE PLANES please.

also as i think was said earlier, no gang wars, or pointless side missions.

no more sh1tty AI, (cars swerving from lane to lane for no reason?).

I dont want:

- female protagonist

- non-american setting

- player customization along muscle system

- small, boring city without different terrains

- short storyline

- relation to VC or IV (im fine with SA tho)

I DON'T WANT TO SEE:

* A non-American setting.

* A female protagonist.

* A small or smaller map. I also dont want a map thats extremely big like GTA: San Andreas.

* Too much player customiziation for the main character and cars.

* Boring, uninteresting simple and straight storylines/scripts.

* Boring, unoriginal and repetitive missions. Just like in GTA 4, when 90% of Niko's missions were about mostly hunting or chasing people down and killing them. Sometimes GTA 4 felt more like a Hitman game than a GTA game.

* A lack of fun side activities and side missions like robbing stores/buildings/homes, stick-ups, hijackings, drug smuggling, drug-dealing, gang-building, gang wars, buying/owning property and businessess.

* Very limited ways of generating income.

* Very limited actions from NPCs on the streets, especially gang members and gangsters. I wanna see NPCs do more random stuff that dont invlove the player, like NPCs commiting crimes to rob, steal, brawl and have shoot-outs etc.

* A very limited number of accessible and explorable interiors of buildings and stores.

* A very limited number and variety of things to spend your money on.

* Too over-zealous, too relentless, too powerful and near-invincible police.

* A street gang-only game or a Mafia/organized crime-only game. There has to be a good balance and good mix of the two types.

* Pointless tasks and missions. For instance, those silly vehicle races, they get a bit too much.

Thats all I can think of for now!

I was not just referring to GTA 4. I was stating the things that I do not want to see in the next GTA game, and that means ALL the stuff from the previous GTAs that I did not like in the first place. That obviously includes San Andreas, which was the GTA game that I was referring to when I said I dont want to see too much character customization. I dont really want all that muscle-gaining, weight-gaining, weight-loss/skinny character changes, it's a bit too much. It can be fun, but I dont think its essential to have that, I think it sometimes just gets in the way of the gameplay.

As for the the car customization I was actually referring to Saints Row. I dont want it to be like Saints Row where car customization goes too over the top with bright cartoon colours and ridiculous-looking add-on features.

Why do you have mention Liberty City in your list? That was pretty silly. You should be clever enough to know that Rockstar are not gonna use the same city for the next GTA game, the Episodes have covered enough on Liberty City now, plus they have said that there will be no more Liberty City episodes.

" Any other city other than VC ". I have to say I strongly agree with you there. I should have actually stated that one in my own list too. I want the next GTA game set in a modern-day Vice City, maybe with Florida or a mythical Southern US state included. Nothing more, nothing less.

Limited guns. Yes I agree with this one. Especially with the pistols. I dont wanna just see Glock 17 9mms and Desert Eagles. In GTA 4 those are pretty much the only pistols you can get. I wanna see the option to also have other pistols like Colt .45s, Heckler and Koch, Magnum .44, .38 revolvers etc. It would also be nice to see them in different colours other than black or very nearly black. Some chrome, silver coloured 9mms would be nice to have too - Saints Row had that feature. I also wanna see some silencers for pistols and MSGs.

" Not too gangsta like CJ, gangsta like Claude" ? What do you mean by that bro? I dont think it should really matter just "how much gangsta or gangster" the protagonist is, as long it fits ands suits the storyline, the script, the setting, the environment and as long as its a realistic portrayal of what image the protagonist is created and designed to fit.

I play GTA to be dragged into a criminal underworld, and this is what happens in a criminal underworld. I'm over being lead in to completing some stupid objective like stealing jetpacks, green goo, blowing up buildings with dynamite attached to RC helicopters etc. I can see why people like that stuff, but I've grown up, and appreciate the more gritty, down to earth nature of the missions in GTA IV.

And what the f*ck is wrong with a non-American city?

What, you're telling me you can't download with iTunes in Germany? Or drive cars in England, because you probably think they still ride horses and drink tea all the time? Or UAE because you still think they are on camels? Or China because the boss is too busy praying to Buddha 24/7? sh*t.

Hmm, I personally don't want something more realistic than GTA 4, but not less realistic as GTA SA. I loved the detail in GTA 4, so don't want to lose out on that. I would perhaps like a slightly bigger map than GTA 4, with more countryside, a lot of the fun I had in SA was in the country.

I don't particularity want to see that cold washed out look again from GTA 4, something with a bit more colour could be better. Also, I don't want/care about customisation apart clothes like GTA 4, things like hair cuts, facial looks or cars I usually cba to do and leave on default.

Apart from that, its all good.

I don't want to see Rockstar taking half of this thread to their hearts. I'm not knocking it, but Rockstar will make a game with alot in. Many people will not like one feature - some will. that is how it goes - one mans perfect game would be others worst.

I don't wanna see:

ARMANDO TORRES suicidal.gif

Poor AI

LAZY "BRANCHING" MISSIONS. The end of IV was so damned lazy - they could EASILY have written a DIFFERENT few missions for each ending.

Jack Thompson/Hilary Clinton Scratch that, i DO - please let us assassinate her! haha

Features that we're shown (storing things in trunks etc) and never get.

Things that are available in missions and not in free play (stun punch anyone?)

A lack of variety in the map - two/ three main cites, with countryside (hills forrests mounts beaches etc) in between. I'm hoping for Miami (VC) and Tampa or something like that, with the Quays included.

That said, i'm sure i will love the game no matter what. I loved Vice. Loved SA, Loved IV more. even the girlfriends/friend things i didnt mind.

The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.

Lack of something to spend money one. Like wtf, I have like $500,000 in GTA4, I cant spend it all on Burgershot, dress suits and hotdog stands... I wanna see that thing from Vice City Stories come back where you could BUY property and make a business off of it. I also wanna see jet-skis come back.

Buddy I've been playing GTA since 1998 with GTA1, so I think I'm more than qualified to give an opinion on what is a "real" GTA.

Which each GTA that's passed it's been like watching a child grow into an adult. I never thought in my wildest dreams 12 years ago that 10 years from that point that GTA would go from a crazy, top down, crime game into a game with production values that are similar to most Hollywood films. Yet despite all the changes that "crazy" element still exists.

Well it does to me. I can't speak for everyone.

@ Miamivicecity

I definitely do not agree with you on that one and I'm pretty sure most GTA fans will feel the same way as me, at least from what I've seen on here and other gaming sites.

I liked the storyline in the original GTA 4 game, it had many twists to it and it was very interesting. I also liked the characters in GTA 4 aswell, I thought they were well-designed and created. BUT the painful fact remains that much of the missions in GTA 4 were very repetitive, unoriginal and in some cases they got boring. I think you got me mixed up with the other set of GTA fans who like the crazy stuff. I'm not into all that over-the-top, extreme gameplay elements like jetpacks, strange substances or firing missile from helicopters, etc. I'm not really into all that myself. I like the gritty, down-to-earth nature of GTA 4 in general, but I strongly felt that there was no variety in most of the missions.

All I wanted was more variety in the missions and general gameplay and GTA 4 simply did not succeed in that. Niko spent 90 % of his time just hunting a particular target down and killing them, or if not that he would be taking on a whole warehouse full of gunmen. Too much of all that just got too boring and repetitive after a while. I wanted to see MORE missions and side activities that involved robbing, stealing, smuggling, hijacking, buying/selling drugs, gambling, gang wars, building your own gang, buying your own business and properties etc. At least they could have included most of that extra stuff in the form of side missions only to create more gameplay variety. Instead all we got were the pointless social activities with friends, shooting pigeons and watching the TV. The only good new features were the internet and police database system.

Look at Tommy Vercetti from Vice City - he was a cold-blooded, vicious killer but at the same time a real smart guy who successfully took control of the drug trade and criminal rackets, and with his profits he bought/owned property and thriving businesses. Tommy Vercetti and his gang became a very powerful and wealthy criminal organization in the end. Criminal underworlds are not just about guys simply going from one location to another and killing targets and enemies. There is alot more that goes on in that world that just killling - there are a wide range of illegal activities, trades and enterprises that generate huge amounts of money and a great amount of aggression, skill, determination and ruthlessness is needed to operate and run them. It would have been equally more interesting to see how the protagonist would be able to successfully fit into the business aspect of crime, adapt to it and reap the rewards from it, rather than just simply being limited to being a murderous thug that is mostly used as a hitman-for-hire and not much else.

I'm sorry but the gameplay in GTA 4 was very repetitive and it should have been much more varied and better than it is now.

@ The Black Project

Yeah, you need to listen to that guy that you need to chill because you really do. I'm actually Black British (of Nigerian descent) and I live in the UK by the way. I never said anywhere other than America is bad. I just dont want a non-American setting because I feel that GTA is a game that is only suited to be set in the USA and nowhere else. European cities simply do not have that rich, huge and varied gang/criminal underworld scene that most major US. cities have, plus they are nowhere near as dangerous for most part. In places like Tokyo, Japan, there is a criminal underworld scene but there are many games that cater to that already like Yakuza. I just feel GTA is best set in an American city and that is that. I also want the next GTA set in Vice City, so thats another of my reasons.

Yes I agree, but we have to remember when VC came out the idea of building a criminal empire was particularly new. IMO these days it's very drawn out. I actually liked how in TLAD although it showed the running of a biker gang the game's purpose wasn't to take over the world (so to speak).

I think we need more games like that where we can run our own gang, but don't make it big. Don't get me wrong I've always found the financial side of criminal life fascinating where you run your own businesses, control income through illicit activities, but to me it's very cliche.

In a way I actually enjoyed being a hired gun in GTA IV.

I will say one thing though atleastsyou actually put alot of thought behind your criticisms of GTA IV unlike some from the last couple of years. That my friends earns you a place in my respect book. smile.gif

@ Miamivicecity :

I do agree with you on that first point. Yes, the idea of building a criminal empire and owning property in a GTA game was very new when Vice City first came out with this feature. That is the probably one of the main reasons why so many GTA fans loved Vice City so much in the first place and still talk about it now.

I do not think the idea of building a criminal empire in a GTA game now is very drawn out or played out. No way. It will definitely provide more fun and different side missions/activities for the player and it will give the player more of a purpose and incentive for why all these murders and crimes are being committed. Niko kept harping on and on about he needs to make money in the second half of GTA 4 and by the end he makes around between a million and half a million dollars, but yet all he could spend his money on was weapons, clothes, fast-food and pay-and-spray! What was the point in making all that money then? He might aswell have just got himself a decent and legitimate 9-5 job in downtown Liberty City with an annual salary of around 50,000 dollars if thats all he was gonna spend his money on!

The idea of building and running a huge criminal empire and taking over the whole city on was not exactly what I wanted to see in GTA 4, and it's not exactly what I wanna see in the next GTA game. That idea was more suited to Vice City, because that was the theme and storyline of the game. In the next GTA, I simply want a system that provides the player with various, different side missions/activities where you can choose to build your own gang, criminal empire and assets, but on a much more personal and localized level. Nothing large-scale, just on a moderate scale but meaningful and rewarding enough to make you want to commit more crimes and murders to make money and expand your interests. It will allow the player to diverge from main storyline missions and do other stuff, making the game much more fun to play and varied in its gameplay elements. I see nothing wrong in that at all (not saying you did either).

Players can just choose to play the main storyline only and maybe do other stuff, they would not have to do this criminal empire-building stuff if they dont want to. I fully understand that Rockstar were trying to take GTA 4 in the direction of epic story-driven realism, but the option for criminal empire building should have been provided for the players that wanted it.

Don't get me wrong I still enjoyed GTA 4 and there were many things I liked about the game, despite the fact that I voiced some strong criticisms of the game in my earlier posts. I liked being a hired gun in GTA 4 when I first played it, because it was fun to explore the huge city and go around different areas hunting or chasing down targets. But after a while, it got boring because that simply what most of the gameplay was about. If there had been more gameplay variety, I probably would not have been bored doing too much of the similar kill-kill-kill missions in GTA 4's main storyline, I'd have been distracted by doing other stuff aswell.

But I must say thanks for your compliment and good words bro. Even though I may not have agreed with most of what you said, I must say that you do appear to be a very level-headed and rational guy who seems to talk a lot of sense when discussing this subject.

@ Mikkenugent :

You stated all of this:

"

*People complainin about GTA IV.

*People mad if GTA Next isnt set in their country or city.

*People makin false claims to have insider knowledge of the next city.

*People puttin down others who dont feel the same about things as them and wastin thread space.

Oh hold on, wait, I forgot what this post was about coz of all the crybabyin goin on here... "

Read the title of the post again please. It is titled, "Things you do NOT want to see" in the next GTA. That means people will have things to complain about, people will get angry if something happens that they dont like, people will wrongly speculate things and people will bash each others views. Its what happens on a forum, if you haven't noticed buddy. I think your're the one thats wasting thread space here. Rather than try to be funny with your silly sarcastic, and not-so-witty comments, you should be making relevant and interesting comments that express your personal views on the subject being discussed here.
