iLiR
I'm very confused. I don't know which program to use for better and easy modeling. Chances are much bigger to buy Sketchup, because it's 400$, but 3ds Max 9 is 3500$ and that's a big difference. So, can anybody or experienced modelers tell me which program should I use for modeling? My main target is to model GTA SA. Sorry if wrong forum... coin-god
You will need 3d max to export. Get 3D MAX. And not only because you need it to export. Its also much much better. But some say a little more difficult. I can't say, because I don't like Sketchup. I allways used 3D MAX.
uNi
Although I like Sketchup, a lot, 3DMax will turn like the better choice in the long run. In every aspect you may think of.
Thunderstruck!
Well, sketchup is for building, or for lego characters (lol). 3Ds Max was made for any type of modelling. Personally Sketchup is more easy than Max... But Max has more features that make it the best option
iLiR
And what's about Zmodeler2? It's free though...
uNi
You need to buy the plugins though.

iLiR
Hey thanx for helping me, but I don't want warez or something. I bought Sketchup, and I have a 30-day trial 3DS MAX, but I'm not gonna buy it because it's too expensive. Edited August 6, 2010 by ilir

You don't need to use the latest version of Max to export to gta, Kam's scripts are supported all the way back to Max 7 (at least, if not for older versions as well). You can get an older version of max for less than the price of Sketchup with a bit of searching, or look into the aforementioned student licenses. iLiR
Yeah, well, I think I bought Sketchup for nothing. It's only good for GTA VC models, they don't have any light bugs or something. It's definitely not for GTA SA.
