AzzurF
Low fps, Annoying stuttering ...increasing the longer you play - until the game crashes. In rain almost unplayable. Laggy cutscenes. Objects and textures popping. Couldn't find an answer how to fix, cursing the Rockstar for the "bad optimization" and the "game breaking patches"... But now the game runs perfectly, smooth fps (constant 40+) in pretty high settings and traffic set at 100 (I like it that way..), no stuttering at all ...even the rain doesn't affect the fps anymore (or make the game slideshow like in EFLC). All I did was installing the Geforce driver 258.96 WHQL. So obviously something was wrong with the older Driver, and not in the Game. Thank goodness \ /. Now the game is so much enjoyable (and no need to upgrade my old 9800GTX+ card) . Edited July 29, 2010 by AzzurF

mkey82
Well obviously all these uber fixes are hardware specific. There us really no need to get ones hopes up.
AzzurF
To Garfield 2: Not pleased about what? Problem was stuttering with the latest patch(es?) and EFLC and poor performance in rain, which was pretty much ruining the game (for some players), not having fewer frames or few frames more in benchmark test. If you didn't have problems with 180.84, or don't use latest patches or play EFLC, then there is no need to update the driver for GTAIV only, I guess. I prefer having newest drivers, they fix things in other programs, and downgrade is not an option. And I am VERY pleased being able to play stutter free EFLC, having same high fps in sunny weather and in heavy rain, playing longer without any decrease of performance (or sudden total freezes). AzzurF
mkey82: Obviously the Same problems that many of us have experienced with EFLC were driver specific. The difference is Huge after installing latest driver, so that can be called a real Über Fix (for some, at least). There were huge problems with the original GTAIV with older driver too when the game came to pc.

Why expect that drivers now basicly in 90% or more aming for 4xx/fermi based cards and there perfomance and only in some cases offer bugfix for older cards shoud do the same for cards that already is tapped out(GT200 and older gen) and dont have the same horsepower to pull out the FPS the driverrevisions offers for fermi?
