Boo-urns Posted October 15, 2010 Share Posted October 15, 2010 They don't "ruin" the game but I agree they are too omnipresent and will want to arrest you for just about anything. I'm currently in the process of shooting the 'flying rats' and I hate how shooting one almost always results in a wanted level. While doing this I have to use the cheat to get rid of the cops, otherwise it'll take me too long to shoot all the damn pigeons and have to shake the cops nearly every damn time. You shoot into space --> wanted level You bump into a cop while running --> wanted level You accidentally hit a cop car while driving --> wanted level Heck, you sneeze or fart --> wanted level Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Soviet13 Posted October 16, 2010 Share Posted October 16, 2010 (edited) The GTA 4 police system is great considering previous games...in my opinion, my ruling is as follows: Good things: -Cops are there for when ur bored (U can't have a stand off with a hot dog vendor:) -The evade system is good, and the 6 star system is more realistic, since who in the f**k would send a whole damn Army Regiment after someone who stole a Cadillac? -Hiding is better, since in the others games, escape was improbable... What I hope to see in GTA 5: -More realistic police reactions. Instead of shooting me point blank after I decide to run, maybe see different options...such as; tasers, police foot pursuit, or back up. Deadly force only if I had a gun aimed... -Less suicidal police cruisers. Patriots smoking u at 70 mph is doubtful. More P.I.T. maneuvers, spike strips, roadblocks and maybe even throw in citizen vigilantes... -MORE SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT! It would be cool to see news helicopters for a high speed pursuit, taped off scenes at a hold up, (that's right, performing bank robberies would be sweet), police pursuit of reckless driving/speeding (optional), getting tickets, and I would love to see old features, such as pedestrian interaction and more stores come into play... Other than that, I really don't mind the LCPD getting on my ass for pushing that gangster-ass wannabe into traffic... I LOVE the new wanted system. the cops do NOT ruin the gameplay for me, rather the opposite. This is Grand Theft Auto! EXPECT police action!! My only beef with the police wanted system is when I have 3 or more stars, and I'm in a helicopter, I can't get out of the search area, it follows me forever always stuck in the middle of it. maybe this is more realism, I'm not sure, as a helicopter would be easily tracked by radar. it only happens with 3 or more stars, otherwise escape is easiest in a copter. of course, when this DOES happen, I bail into a speed boat and escape anyway. Who would want to play GTA without cops? to me, thats equivalent to playing 1st person shooters, but the enemies aren't allowed to shoot back! players using GOD-MODE or other cheats....I don't get it...why even play? If there weren't cops who come after you after every crime you commit, the entire series would be completely different. It would be called Grand Free Of Cops (sorry if its not good im just bored) if there were no cops. And besides, GTA is a realism game. You don't see The Sims 3 without police. Its fun to kill them anyway. Sometimes I pull out DAO-12 Streetsweeper and just ''sweep'' them away to their death! And when i get fed up with them, I use my trainer to get rid of them.
