Cops ruin the game

Seriously, theres like a cruiser on every block and as soon as you try to do something fun, they stop you. I wouldnt mind it so much if they put a cheat (For the PS3) to remove the cops, like in GTA SA. Is there some sort of cheat that completely removes them? (And no, not that "Adjust your wanted Level" crap. I mean a real cheat so I dont have to type in a number on my phone every 20 seconds. Seriously, the game would be so fun but the cops are so overkill.

for pc you can use a trainer to set never wanted enable.

but since ur on ps3, the only way is to use wanted level cheat or shoot them.

You can make a run for it before they arrest you.

But I think that boost's your wanted level to two stars which causes them to start shooting, but it's better to die then get arrested (you keep your weapons).

If you want to avoid dieing...then you surrender. Most my deaths are coming from the cops or motorcycle accidents.

The new wanted system is definitely a major flaw. Some say it's too easy to get away from the cops with the new radius system while others like me hate how you always get a star for everything. But dude, you do know there's a cheat menu option at the bottom of your cell phone menu, right? Doesn't improve anything, though.

Anyway, GTA 4 cops are better than previous cops...i hated those kamikaze cop cars. ALWAYS crashing into you, driving abnormal speeds, especially FBI vehicles.

 

But cops in GTA 4 do stupid stuff too, everytime a cop car spawns ahead of me, they just handbrake and stop sideways for no reason, because i either avoid them or just ram them and keep on running.

 

I hope they add spike strips back in next GTA. So there is any use in avoiding road blocks, because unless you are driving REALLY slow, with a light CAR (motorbikes will just slip through no matter what) you will ram through anything they put.

They'd have to block the road with APC tanks to stop me!

 

Another thing that annoys me is if they manage to get near me on 1 star, obviously i have to escape getting busted, i almost always lose about 50% of my health/armor just because they start shooting at melee range... good thing they dont have a shotgun on every cop, otherwise running would be impossible without body armor and tons of luck

The cops in IV are by far away much better than SA cops.

One of the most and most annoying thing is, when you stand on Mount Chiliad

and got one star, there is f*cking nobody on nowhere.

After a few seconds, 3 copcars is coming to you!

And on the biggest mountain ever!

You spent minutes long to get on the top, cops within few seconds to get your ass.

In IV you can run and it takes alot of seconds for cops.

people comparing the cops to the old games and I can't help but notice things like the actual ability to hide. With a high wanted lvl it is actually fun to try and make a run for it on foot because you know you actually have a chance at it. I absolutely love hiding from the police chopper and running from hiding spot from hiding spot. If they don't see you then you can slowly slip out of the cone.

a great example of this was when I was in the Alderny docks once and had 4 stars. I was able to run down one of the piers down to the end I hid in one of those tiny out buildings and when the coast was clear I ran back the other side of the building. Got inside the building where the boat was docked out of the water and I hid in there for a bit. When the cops had moved away I ran across to where you do the missions for phil bell ran into the building where you do the deal finale and was able to get out of the cone from the other end it was epic.

LOL, i just had a funny and exciting moment with the cops.

I was on top of a building and was sniping everyone to death.

They call the cops but didnt know where the murder was (me lol)

So the cops comes and they standing and walking down there to see the killer.

You know they hold their weapons with 2 hands and walks like swat but bit faster?

Funny thing, I was crouching so they wont see me.

I watched 10 minutes to see them seeking lol

I was damn excited how to escape without being seen by peds and cops.

But it costs my health, but I go for it.

And then, its done, one cop saw me, busted.

I was trapped in a square, my life was over lol

 

And it happens alot like above said.

The hiding is so great, as long as they cant find you, you'll be save.

They do. If they're is more than one patrol unit on to you. Shooting cops doesn't do anything, they reincarnate right away. In Vice City at least they were temporarily gone.

 

Of course it also skyrockets your wanted level, not to mention that.

Yep. With past GTAs if you were lucky you could go the the nearest pay & spray with a high wanted level, and get rid of it almost immediately. The new system actually forces you to EVADE them.

 

Even with some 1-2 star wanted levels I've had a bit of trouble shaking them off. I remember once I was having a shootout on 4 stars, and I literally went out the back door. The cops were still shooting, and I slipped through a back alley, jumped into a nearby car, and proceeded to escape while they were still thought I was in their vicinity. It was awesome.

 

It annoys me when people say GTA IV is too easy, and one of the things that actually makes it a bit of a challenge is still not good enough.

i dont try to avoid police with more than 4 star level but i have to say that evading police is really easy than previous gta series.better than every police car appearing when you turn in any street.in gta iv you can see police standings from the radar.so it took no time for me to avoid them.just use by-ways,sub-ways and small paths between buildings and when police dont see you even if it is so near(by hiding) you will lose wanted levels.just keep your one eye on radar and the other on the driving.

you have to stay 10 seconds out of red zone to clear your wanted level. i have to say that hiding is not enough you have to stay out of the red zone too.and if you Subtilize you see when you spotted by any police car your red zone changes into your area.so first get out of red zone then hide.so police cars will not see you even if they are so near.

I like going into a bilding e.g. strip club, [email protected] or Burger Shot and using a vehicle to block the Escape for the people in there; and to block the entrance for the cops, watch as people run like loonies trying to escape while I shoot them up the @55.

I love GTA IV cops. Its best system so far. You actually hide from them. They do not appear from nowhere. They try to arrest you first, and you can escape!
