OverTheBelow
On the wiki it says a maximum of 26 can be played in a single go, with 29 in all. Hmm, I'm not sure. I played a total of 20 with the decisions I made; perhaps there are more missions on the alternatives.
ilya
Yeah. I've not played it yet, so can't confirm. Until Monday I'm on my back-up, which can barely run it at absolute lowest settings.
Rockworm
CJZera' date='Jul 30 2010, 17:25'] No Protoss story?Oh, for Adun, WHY? I sooo love the protoss (even tho I suck at starcraft anyways) Damnit I have to get this game asap EDIT: I smell the other campaigns coming as DLCs protoss zerg and xel'naga will all be released as expansions. Reason I pulled my money out of the preorder was because I found out about this. I'm not about to pay 4 times for 1 game. Blizzard/activision got greedy. Reconite
I'm not about to pay 4 times for 1 game. Blizzard/activision got greedy. Don't get why people keep saying this. Each campaign is just about as big as all 3 of SC1's campaigns put together. It just seems like some half-assed boycott.

To be fair the next two games will cost as much as most expansion packs, also considering each race get their own full length campaign we are all the better for the decision. Although from what I've read Blizzard may not release the next Zerg based game until 2012! That's a bit annoying if true!
ilya
...Better than 2022. Heard they're aiming for no more than 18 months between releases. Hope it's more like a year though.

Each campaign is just about as big as all 3 of SC1's campaigns put together. It just seems like some half-assed boycott. it feels like a copout... oh each campaign is 3x as long? well some RPGs take 4x as long as that... should final fantasy be 3 expansions for every 20 hours? Why should a RTS have higher privilege? any other Genre and this would not be accepted but because its blizzard and starcraft than they can get away with it because its starcraft. Gotta draw the line somewhere or they might might do worse in the future. It might not be such a big deal now but I see other companies following suit because it works with starcraft 2 and then not to far in the future we'll be paying 100 bucks for 1 game or even more. I understand business and I can't really blame Blizzard/activision but the only way I can do anything about it is to vote with my wallet. I was hella excited for this even put money in for a pre-order even played the beta for a while. But then I learned about this and took the money out used the money to get GTA EFLC so I think it was a much better trade off. At least with GTA I know it'll be worth the money. With starcraft I see myself getting bored of it quick and decided to wash my hands of the whole thing. Maybe when all expansions are out and they put them all in one pack for cheaper than I'll probably reconsider. But as it stands now it just feels like a rip off to me. jelly
They won't be priced as separate games, they'll be priced as expansions. I think that's a good deal, but oh well. At least they're still doing proper expansions rather than selling new costumes for your characters for $10 per costume pack.

I probably end up buying it. I'd love to see my hydralisks dressed up in some weird sh*t like a maid costume or something. xD
Rockworm
that is one thing I won't argue against. Whatever issues I have with this I won't deny that Blizzard makes good games. I just can't afford to let game companies ask for so much. gotta ask where do you draw the line? I asked in another site forum if starcraft 3 comes out and they start charging 60 bucks for 3 missions are you still gonna buy it because its Starcraft? When I think about its not like their asking for so much but it will lead to that if we let it.
jelly
I don't see this as a slippery slope at all.. The way it stands, this game includes way more than every console port the publishers are forking these days, including the map editor Blizzard themselves use. Name one recent triple-A console port title with any kind of mod support whatsoever let alone official support like that. Just look at stuff like DotA for a clue at what kind of longevity this gives the game that pretty much no other new games have any more.

TEoS
So... when does the next expansion come out. Curious to see where they go with this. Also, hope we see some Samir Duran soon. Edit: 2012? Seriously? What has Blizzard been doing for the past 12 years? Edited August 20, 2010 by TEoS
[SM]CJZera
so anyone get to that part in campaign where u either side with Scientist lady to protect refugees against protoss or side with protoss and cleanse the planet clean of Zerg infestation? Am I the only that during the first playthrough decided to purify the planet? I'm eager to know more, loved the Zeratul missions, but for some reason I can't get myself to play In Utter Darkness again I don't like knowing I will end up losing, and with the end of my fav species D: I wonder how will the Zerg system will play out... like, what will they use instead of credits/research if they even use that system again... I don't like how big are hydralisks now tho, I swear they didn't use to be that big, I prefered smaller... Still, gotta love how varied the missions are, the Meinhof "nighttime problem" was awesome... Heck, I think I love every. Single. Mission.
TEoS
So for the pre-final mission choice, did anyone opt to take out the Nydus Worm tunnels instead of the Mutalisk platform, and if so, how much easier did it make the final mission. Because seriously, f*ck those Nydus worms.

baptiste
Just giving this a bump. Been playing online quite alot, being doing pretty decent with terran. Only problem is I seem to have a hard time against zerg, they can retech almost instantly, and when you think you might be able to beat them, they just mash zergling in your face in unbelievable amounts. Is the key just bleeding his economy? Perhaps grab some reapers and go f*ck up his mineral line? I got owned by a zerg player who instantly techned mutalisks and flew like 10 of them in my base 10mins into the game. That was gg.

That was gg. zerg is actually considered underpowered by most people. if he might fast tech to mutalisk you first have to scout. 1. send a worker to scout his base check for early gas or early spire. 2. if you know any player who is fats teching you need to attack. chances are they might not have many defenses because they are spending all their minerals on teching. Dont turtle up because you need to constantly pressure him. also dont forget to build turrets at ur mineral line
