WaXT
I'm sorry for being lazy and not thinking that there might be other posts like this, but I really need to decide now. I'm choosing between R5770 HAWK (crossfire) and R5870 Lightning. I saw 5770s memory clock (4800 MHz) and 5870s (4800 MHz) I was thinking of what IF I would crossfire the 5770, would that increase the clock speed? All I really want is High-FPS on max/mid-max graphics. But I was also thinking that 5870 would be better because it is only one card, and some forums said that it is just like 5770 crossfire'd. So I am REALLY REALLY confused right now. If I would buy either of the two, they would be of the same price. (5770 crossfire $200 and single 5870 $200) Please help me? luceberg
GTA 4 doesn't work so well with crossfire, gives microstuttering in my experience, so definitely the single 5870 is better for this game.

Thanks:) btw, if I have crossfire, can I enable only 1 card? and not crossfire mode or something? Edited July 29, 2010 by WaXT
anus
Like others have said, the 5870 is the better choice as IV doesn't benefit much (if at all) from Crossfire. Yeah you can turn off Crossfire. Oh and if you're getting 6GB of RAM, either go i7 or stick with 4GB for i5. You don't need more than that really. Consider getting a board with SATAIII and USB 3.0 support too. Will really help. So out of the two boards you mentioned, the P55A-GD65 would be the better choice . Edited July 29, 2010 by Warlord. Astrixone
I got the RHAWK 5770 and he is pretty good, for now he is enough, but right now he is not my main problem with GTA IV and EFLC.

The only reason ive crossfired 5770's is because i bought one when it was released and i recently added another one but imo its pretty dumb to buy 2 5770's together at the same time Edited July 29, 2010 by Gilly1987
WaXT
Thank you very much for answering nicely^_^ I have 2 questions, How do you turn off crossfire? Is it included in the manual or not? Is my PC setup good?

DKT70
For $200, get one of these, you won't regret it, ATI have nothing to compete with this card at this price. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814125334 Or, if you can stretch another $30, then get this one, and still much cheaper than a 5850. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814125333 Both cards are factory overclocked, so if you prefer stock clocks then get one of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814130562

I mean, the FPS, man:) I'm in for it. I see it is SLI enabled, so that means if I'll get one, then buy another one if I got more money:)

If this is for GTAIV, then the 460 cards will still trump 2x 5770, as GTAIV doesn't really benefit from SLI or Crossfire. If this is for general PC gaming then it all boils down to money, drivers, and what games you want to play. Choice is yours.
Ultraman1966
Well, for the best price/perf ratio you really are best off getting a GTX460. If that didn't exist I'd recommend the 5850 but Nvidia have regained the crown for now. Edited July 30, 2010 by Ultraman1966

But in the local store near me (pcxpress) the 5770 actually only costs $196. But I'm more used to nvidia, and very very new to ati. So I think I'll should get nvidia, but my thing is high-fps. so I think I will get a 5870, then after i have more money, ill buy another. Besides, I don't play only GTA IV on pc. I also play other games:) Edited July 30, 2010 by WaXT

WaXT
Why are there different prices? The 5870 here costs $400. And the crossfire 5770 costs the same. I wanna buy the 5770. If I get more money, I will get Geforce. I think nVidia has a really really better hardware.
