I thought I had a lead on it: it looks like the broken tree in RDR and the trivia for that tree in RDR is that it's believed to be a reference to the tree in the movie "Shawshanks Redemption". But I checked the movie and it looks nothing like it! LOL

ok i might have cracked it... You know the (5 people/5 bullets/ 5 letters/ thing... The 5 bullets where in the GTA V near the start... The 5 people thing was the name of one of the locations in the V earlier... and the 5 letters could have something to do with the tree hint hint*

Each time I look at that V logo with the tree in it I can't help but think that the tree has been slapped on to that picture.

Gamescom starts on the 18th of August, right now thats our best bet for info about the new GTA... not this.

Not sure what kind of tree it is. But people keep pointing out that the tree is not important. It's what's behind the tree.

All the pictures so far have not been doctored in any way am I right? (Please correct me if I'm wrong) so why are some of us suggesting that this one might have been? If were talking about raising the level of difficulty after each picture then this picture is raising that level WAYYY more than it should!!! I mean given that the pic was only up in the 'V' for two minutes anyway, and not only that...the pic is fake as well (as we're suggesting) then I have to say I don't think they would have made it as difficult as that all of a sudden.

Yes i think so too..and this might seem weird but if R* did (*issue out*) these pics then would it be kept secret till Gamescom??? probably not but R* are known for the unusual and secretive propoganda so mabey were NOT ment to find it out. if you understand my logic

Yeah bro I understand your logic, but I honestly would like to think that they are still continuing the 'game' and we are meant to find the picture as usual...wether this is THE ONE where everything is revealed who knows, but I'm hoping this is just the latest pic of the game we've all been playing since what seems like forever now.

 

About this Gamescon that is coming up on the 18th, I am certainly not holding my breath for an announcement about GTA. This just seems like the latest 'Oh I bet we get an announcement on this day / event' that we hope we will hear something (remember E3? That came and went and still we're waiting!). RockStar will announce the game in their own time wether it is at one of these events or not and if I was a betting man I would guess they don't do it at one of these, it will just be it's own grand announcement so the impact is greater than being mixed in with other games launched at these kind of events.

Hehe! Indeed they are. Not only that (and I'm not just saying this...) but GTA is almost too big a franchise for an announcement about one of its games to be made at an event such as Gamescom...not disrespect intended to anyone involved at Gamescom of course. How was GTA IV announced? Was it at one of these events or was it like a statement released from RockStar or Take-Two announcing it? We are now talking about the game after the huge success GTA IV was and still is!

I really don't know anymore, things are said here that change my opinion everyday.

Keep in mind that Rockstar did say they'll announce things in the coming weeks and to me that means a lot.

It's been more than a few weeks, that's why I still believe Gamescom is the place to concentrate on.

Based on all these recent speculations and allegations (not just on this site), I believe GTAV is just around the corner.

Prosopis velutina, commonly known as Velvet Mesquite

Populus fremontii, or the Fremont Cottonwood

Platanus racemosa, names include California or Western Sycamore, California Plane Tree and Aliso

Bursera microphylla, commonly known as Elephant Tree

or Bursera fagaroides, also known as Elephant Tree

How far can a joke go though? I mean yeah, if the mods wanted a good laugh they could have ended this around the fifty page mark.

You can only go so far, then it just becomes stupid. Either this is a REALLY dumb joke and the mods have no compassion for their members/sense of humor or this IS legit.

I've had days were it seems too silly to continue this but at the same time I can't give up on this strong gut feeling I've had, especially with all the rumors circulating around the internet.

I was also wondering, was this topic inevitable? What if it was never created or would the V change cause too much stir on these forums that somebody would eventually come around and say something?

It it's a prank, it failed miserably or had the opposite effect of what they were hoping for. The only people I've seen that get pissed off in this thread are the ones that come in from other areas of the forum raging and ranting at the people who are in here participating and playing along with the game..........which boggles the mind; christ it's not like anyone is forcing those idiots to come in here every day.

 

It's like they can't fathom that we enjoyed playing this game. I'll admit that we've hit a dead end, but I thought it was fun as hell leading up to this point. Good job admins, you made the GTA V section lively if only for a short time.
