SpecialAnimal
I come to you internet for solving my problem. I bought the EFLC today, and started the installation process when I got home. I left to go eat with my dad while it was installing disc one. Well, I get back from eating, insert disc two and it continues the installation process. It then prompts me to insert disc one again to complete the installation process. No problem right? Well, I do that and get an error about not being able to read setup.exe. So, thinking it was because it took so long for me to get back, I cancel the install, and start over. Now disc one or two will not read. With that, I take it out, and proceed to insert a box set containing three CD's and one DVD, and they read just fine. So, my question to you is, are my disc's somehow corrupt? I figured it might be the DVD drive until the other disc's read just fine. And yes, it's a legit copy. If there are any doubters, I suppose I can prove it. mkey82
Your drive probably overheated a bit so the disks weren't readable. Have you tried again later on? GTAIV disks are known not be of highest quality, you should consider asking for replacement.
SpecialAnimal
Yeah, i've noticed the disc's were hot when I pull them out of the DVD drive. It reads them just fine when I first start up the computer, but don't really have enough time to install them because after a little bit they won't read. Would a new DVD drive fix this or should I try, like mkey82 said getting a new copy of EFLC? EDIT: So i've managed to get the DVD drive to read the disc's long enough to copy the contents of the DVD's over to my computer and get the game(s) installed. I guess now the problem would be, how to play the game.. Edited July 29, 2010 by SpecialAnimal
mkey82
Well, install it from the HDD. Just run the setup.exe.
