thedamned38
Ok, if the game map was the same size in both of these ideas, which would you rather have: 1- A San Andreas(just an example) type map with 3 cities, all not being very detailed, but still having a variety in areas. OR 2- Los Santos(just an example) with the same size map, but a very detailed depiction of Los Angeles, with all the areas being very detailed, showing huge areas such as downtown, hollywood, the beaches, the surrounding mountains, the ghettos, etc. By the way those were just example cities, i truly dont mind where the next GTA is set cause ill still buy it and love it. patsfan4life
Los Santos would succeed as number two, because its so diverse, and has many different neighboorhoods. it can stand alone. However I'd love to see San Fierro, and Las Venturas too, so if Rockstar were to make expansion packs to include those series that would be great. Jabalous
Rockstar can re-create San Andreas with more and deeper details than ever with the new advanced technology of the PS3 and the Xbox 360 . Red Dead Redemption's world is about two times as big as San Andreas , and it has very deep details compared to San Andreas in every graphical aspect . You can find high-resolution textures spread all over the world , and also you can still find the usual low-resolution textures . The new technology allowed the developers to put more polygons for every object in the world and it also allowed them to put more texture layers for every object , which made the geological terrains come alive like what they really look like in the real life , so , you can easily see the geological differences between the mountains in New Austin and the mountains in Nuevo Paraiso , unlike in GTA SA , all the mountains looked the same with small differences in the shape . LakeGTA
With them descriptions, I'd be hard pressed to say San Andreas. I'd be much more inclined to go with no.2.
Rede
If it were me I would probably wait until the next generation of consoles arrive in 2014. Then you can get really creative, and the console manufacturers seem to like it when you give them shiny games to sell their new products.

Nativedeem
i was thinking about this before, LA is huge about 498 square miles. I wouldnt mind just LA.
SilentSeas
I can't stand the idea of a standalone LA setting, its so overused in all types of media. But if you add SF and LV into the mix, theres more potential and even more diversity (I know LA is diverse). As I posted somewhere else, just using LA would be lazy I want them to challenge themselves and come up with something fresh.

j.hunt
full San Andreas with a map of the large of RDR, the level of depth and detail of Liberty City, interstate highways, country, planes, etc. R* just need to keep the physics and the graphic level of BOGT and don't listen to the f*ckers that love Saints Row. I wouldn't mind to wait until 2012 for something like that, just give me some f*cking previews, screenshots and leaked intros and I would be fine. NinjaWJ
a great big detailed city would be nice but i need some desert, forests, countryside, or some nature to compliment it because i just cant stand looking at one giant city and feeling trapped in it like GTA4
II Goonah II
I'm confident R* could make a very detailed SanAndreas.
jamieleng
To be honest I would be happy with Los Santos on its own. As long as it's surrounded by a large area, with a variety of terrain including hills, mountains, canyons, forests & desert, which include some smaller outlying towns with their own individual character & npc's. Then give me a multitude of vehicle types to traverse the aforementioned terrain & I'll be a happy camper.
Kwandilibro
Either give me all of SA and maybe even new cities, or don't even bother going back to the West Coast.
pantera765
I think it depends... Los Santos on its own could turn out to be fricken amazing with alot of detail. However, what would really be amazing would be if they would include either: -Las Venturas as a side-city (sort of like Aldernery in GTA4) sort of in the desert east of Los Santos... -or San Fierro as an additional city to the north of Los Santos. On the other hand, if it was the entire state of San Andreas with the detail of GTA4... I would be speechless in amazement!
unknowngtafan
Number 2 should win in a landslide. A very detailed Los Santos wins everytime. Especially considering if Los Santos is redone into one game, Las ventureas can be remade into one game and the same thing with San fierro So the question becomes would you rather have 3 amazing detailed games (not at the same time), or one not so detailed game
SilentSeas
One question: If both maps are the same size, then why couldn't the whole of SA be as detailed as a standalone LS?

thedamned38
One question: If both maps are the same size, then why couldn't the whole of SA be as detailed as a standalone LS? because.... lets take LC for example. LC does not show you the true size of New York, it is a basic downsized version of it. if you had a huge map you could show the city's(1 city) true size and that of it's surrounding areas, and really make a detailed depiction of the true size of a real city, not something you could drive across in a few short minutes like LC. If you had 3 cities each city would have to be some what dowsized from their true size to fit the game world.

Number 2. you think so? i have a feeling most people will want another san andreas yes i want a smaller city, but not san andreas sized city, but maybe 2 or 3 cities ona bigger map, with cities being 1.5 times bigger, but more detail, but not so much that it will need very good computer to run it like gta4
Algonquin Assassin
I wouldn't mind a detailed Los Santos with an equally detailed countryside. Midnight Club: Los Angelas is the best reference we have yet of what a current gen Los Santos can look like. However I would be amazed if R* could achieve the level of detail that was present in GTA IV, and more recently RDR in another tri city state though. sonik13
I love the idea of los santos alone but like that other guy said it would be great if it was surrounded by a small countryside and desert and maybe some small towns too. los angeles is a huuuuge city its like 5 cities in one with all the ghettos and everythinq it would be awsome. I think it should be about inner-city life though not some idiot going around the hole state like cj that was unrealistic. maybe a hispanic this time??
