What is the game that you hated...

I died a little bit inside when I finally admitted to myself that I didn't enjoy Halo 3. I loved the first two, and number 2 was my introduction to online gaming where it held my attention for over a year. But I grew up quite a bit between 2 and 3, so after all the hype and remembering how fun 2 was I was completely underwhelmed by it. That said, they'd barely changed anything, and due to this I realised just how boring the game really was.

I wish I still enjoyed it.

I'll also jump on the GTAIV wagon, Rockstar took themselves way too seriously. They needed to go a bit crazy again like SA or TBOGT, gritty and grounded in reality can be fun but it doesn't hold up too well in a GTA environement and certainly doesn't make for a great replayability factor.

I actually prefer the IV approach (look at how f*cking brilliant TLAD was because of this). TBOGT was 'fun' with all the 'insane features' but then again the story was lacking big time compared to IV and TLAD.

Not to say San Andreas was a bad game, but it wasn't as good as 'the other' GTA games. Alot of features and 'insane mindless gameplay' doesn't make a good game... They should never go for the Saints Row approach. And I hope they'll never do so.

ok ill admit it too hahaha happy.gif i ddint really enjoy GTA4 that much either. i liked the story and graphics but it felt like a step down from SA. for the people who wanted us to explain why we didnt enjoy the game we dislike here is my reasons

MW2

- almost identical to Cod4 in gameplay and features.

- short singleplayer

- OP killstreaks and y r there bonuses for dying???

- no dedicated servers

RDR

- short story with plotholes

- repetitive

- poor mission structure and design

theres more but too lazy to list

MW2 and Red Dead Redemption

Red Deads gameplay was a bit boring to me. It first, but half way through the story I got a little bored with it. Oh well, you can't like everything I guess.

Thanks for confirming my earlier beliefs.

Keep trolling, I do see you're biased because you posted what I was looking for, but in the opposite question the OP asked. And I'm not here to impress you, I was asking a general statement to the community on why they hate MW2 and such? If you think they're trolling, why don't you private message them asking if they really like the game? Either way if they're liars, it's not my problem. And I'm certainly not helping retarded people do at what they do best of showing their retardedness like you said earlier.

Now, I'm gonna try this one last time. The question you so innocently asked is uninteresting and opened a door for a bunch of retards to say sh*t (yes you did). Can I be any clearer? That's my issue. That's it. If you still dont get it then I'm done with you.

It was abit personal, but I'd have done the same to most people, perhaps to a lesser extent. You most likely lack the forum insight to see this is useless, dont worry most of us have been through it the hard way, you'll probably secretly thank me later if you stick around.

And where did you bring this "your political beliefs" you mentioned?

Your sig and interests, I'd have though even you could have figured that out.

And you're not retarded? You posted the correct way in the other thread, and don't say that his topic was more productive because he was talking about games in towards a positive way. Looks like you do have a problem after all, and I am not here on the forums to bash into people. I hope you aren't as well.

No, I'm not retarded, penny for your thoughs. The point is, his thread wasnt a blatent way of saying "call out popular games to stir up sh*t for lulz". And what exactly is my problem? Not condoning retards? I truly am sorry for that. If you cant handle some bahsing, maybe you shouldnt be here, I heard about this other place called thegtaplace.com. Its all nice and happy, maybe you should check it out.

You CLEARLY said that I lack the intelligence to what you were trying to say in my other thread, which doesn't make sense either way. It was going fine when people were posting, nobody saw anything wrong with it.

Oh rofl, that was your thread. Oh great. This is brilliant. I could start all over again.

I'd just like to point out, that your answer was either extremly badly formulated, or you completly misunderstood my very simple and short answer. Either way, you lack intellect in one way or another. Just because no one sees anything wrong with it doesnt mean its bad. Moreover, about that specific thread, what I said wasnt bashing, you just took it as an offence because....your over-emotional?i Idk. I was actually contributing to the thread, simply in a different way. Again, you failed to see that and just took it as an attack.

Also, saying that you despise other people and calling other people "retarded" is a form of disrespect to other users

Yes, it is.

Claiming that I'm an idiot only shows your ignorance to the world.

No, it doesn't.

Thank you for your time.

I take it you don't play a lot of RPGs? They all need an introductory section where you decide who your character is, what they're like, their skills etc. FO3 just did it in a way that isn't in a "Oh hey friend of mine, I've got amnesia and forgot all about you. What is your name/age/race/gender/skillset again?" line at the start.

I can't think of an RPG I've played recently which has that kind of amnesia beginning. And Fallout 3 could have benefited from having a way to skip the stupid introduction.

Actually, character creation in old-time RPGs usually takes place before the story even starts.

He's just saying its a nice way of introducing the game compared to making up some kind of story as to why you here and what your doing. Most RPG's these days already have some kind of back story implemented for your character.

Here it gives you the feeling that you grew up with this character which is a different way of introducing the game.

I'm honestly not that interested in such pointless wastes of time, the G.O.A.T. gave you questions which didn't even have anything to do with your stats outcome so there's one. Your stats, the character creation, everything about your character can be modified just before you leave the vault so this "deep" intro should in theory be skip-able so the player doesn't have to go through the same sh*t every time.

I'm glad that New Vegas has been confirmed to have a skip-able tutorial at least.

Driv3r. Most of the people on this forum that played it seemed to have liked it. I think it's a piece of sh*t, it looks like they stopped developing the game three quarters through.

True Crime (pick one of the feces). While I enjoyed the second one, Streets of New York a bit, it sucked because it was full of bugs. In general, those games had awkward driving, buggy missions and looked like they could have been good games but they sucked.

Just go on the internet a pick any of the 100 greatest games of all time and put them in this thread.

That is exactly how this is going to end anyway.

99 percent of the people in here are bashing good/popular games so that they can seem oldskool/hard by saying that their bad games. Or just to start an argument. Its beyond pathetic.

@TheBlackProject, it is just another thread, people always say the same things, most of them are always full of sh*t, and this is just another crappy thread to clutter up the forum. I would advise to refrain from making a topic ever again.

This entire thread is dedicated to looking hardcore by bashing the new great games.

Did I make any reference to sales in any way shape or form? Halo 3 having the best sales doesnt make it the game the best ever, but having a large amount of those players say that a feature of halo 3 is good makes it good.

Every Halo, way overhyped. It was a mediocre shooter with a bad story.

Every Need for Speed after Hot Pursuit 2. Same game over and over.

I'd say more like after Underground/2, because they're the last good NFS's. U/U2 were very enjoyable. From MW it was icon13.gif

Against the law on GTAF to hate popular games, y'know.

How's this for a list of completely legitimate complaints with Fallout 3:

  • The game is riddled with bugs in the FPS mechanics, the guns break after 20 or so shots, your skills somehow make bullets more powerful, there are no iron-sights (if you're going to turn a Turn-Based RPG into an FPS you may as well do it right).
  • The RPG mechanics are broken, you can blow up Megaton and then get all the way back to god-like Karma just by giving a few bottles of water to a homeless guy outside Rivet City. The game lets you max out all of your stats at 100/100, and all of your SPECIAL at 10/10 with Broken Steel if you plan it correctly, this takes the point of meaningful skill point spending away. With a huge total of 1 strength, you can still hold, steady, fire and reload an Experimental MIRV.
  • It gives you bullet-time to make up for the sh*tty aiming mechanics. The problem with this is that the game does all the work for you while you sit there and watch, it's also unskip-able and gets really, really boring after about the tenth time. They couldn't have done bullet-time like the Max Payne or Red Dead series could they? At least they let you play while everything is going on.
  • The voice acting is terrible, don't even try to claim that this is an opinion. It's really, really bad. They have like 4 or 5 voice actors for every single character in the whole game. CRPGs from the 90's used to have at the very least 20. I played through Deus Ex this year and I can say that it has a total of at least 49 voice actors.
  • The quests are completely linear. There is no two ways of going around things. Fallout 1 and 2 usually gave you the choice to use speech, sneak or shooting your way through. Pretty much everything in Fallout 3 involved shooting your way through. As a result of this it's pretty much impossible to do a pacifist run of the game (another thing that's being addressed in New Vegas). May seem like a petty argument to you but this is a really big gripe when it comes to RPGs, they're meant to give you good choices.
  • The fact that Bethesda thinks that pinning an old woman's head to the wall with a railway rifle is "dark humour" is enough to say that they got the whole series wrong in their perspective of its "humour". Having weapons like the Fatman and Experimental MIRV don't really help for immersion in a world where nuclear bombs devastated the US, people are meant to be scared of nuclear bombs, not lugging them around in a backpack with a hand-held Davy Crockett Device.
  • Bethesda thought it would be a good idea to make aliens part of the Fallout canon (when they were only previously Easter Eggs). Mothership Zeta and its audio logs imply that the aliens used "mind control" on the world leaders to start The Great War. The game is filled with plot-holes, what is Jet (a drug from the west coast invented by a teenager just before the time of Fallout 2) doing in a pre-war house? Come to think of it, why is that house even there? Everything in the Capital Wasteland is brown, with a green tint. People like to suggest the bombs did it, but if the bombs were really that powerful why are wooden houses still standing? Vault 101 vault suits are made for the outside, previous Vaults used skin-tight suits, I'm not saying the design was bad, but people wearing Vault suits were never really meant to be on the outside of the Vault until everything was safe again, or their pre-set time was reached when the Vault would open. You go to a supermarket, and for some reason there is still edible 200 year old food on every shelf, you'd think someone would want to scavenge it? But it's full of raiders, and they're not even scavenging it. Why is 200 year old food edible? Why is the food there in the first place, I thought there was a war before all this happened, wouldn't it all be rationed? Come to think of it, why did the idiots at Megaton think it was a good idea to make houses out of rusty tin when there's a Supermarket not even that far from them that could be easily refurbished? Why are raiders and supermutants cannibal now? Why are they all so f*cked in the head that they think decorating their homes with dead bodies and sacks of rotting meat is a good idea? Raiders are meant to be scavengers with weapons, so they can pillage, not hordes of retarded psychopaths who think rotting meat makes good smells.
  • The character modelling and animations are also terrible. Todd Howard's high-school buddy who failed 3 times trying to pass in animation class, yet he still gets hired to make incredibly bad walking animations. Why are the modding community so much better at making character models than Bethesda themselves?
  • Children are immortal, not only that, but they are actually parts of the story and have quests to do, so modding the ability to kill children in will screw up quite a few things. I guess it's best to remain a child in the wasteland, because being under the age of 18 automatically grants you immunity from everything the world can throw at you, including nuclear explosions.
  • The writing is just bad. Real bad. Your dad leaves the vault and suddenly you're being hunted down. You go to Megaton, where people have built a town around an unexploded bomb, you're a stranger known by no one, armed with weaponry, you talk to the Sheriff and he right off the bat agrees to let you disarm the unexploded bomb. Makes sense to me.
GoTY 2008 if I ever saw one.

Haters will hate, won't change the fact that this list is pretty much all true.

That's where your wrong. Its not fallout 2 V2. So anything where your reffering to any kind of deep RPG element or comparing to fallout 2 is misinformed, as thats not what they were going for.

Exactly. It's Oblivion V2 instead. It's not what they were going for because the only thing Bethesda knows how to do anymore are First-Person games with badly-balanced RPG elements.

What they should have been going for is a Fallout sequel, not an Oblivion sequel in a different setting.

This is why I hate Fallout 3.
