There was a particular point that was being made about street gangs that caused the debate in the first place. Read the comments properly. Just like that idiot ajrunke, you too start assuming things and then you start yelling out loud to everyone on here that street gangs, gangsters and crime in general is bad and stupid - yet here you are playing GTA games? GTA games are about crime in general with their storylines placing a heavy emphasis on street gangs and organzied crime. Let me remind you all that GTA is a crime video game, not a vacation game. People may want Vice City, but one thing is for sure, Miami cant f*ck with Chicago. Not on a gang level, not on a killing level, not on any level. Hell, if you go to Miami right now, you'll see Chicago gangs down there. I been to Miami, Miami is not f*cking with Chicago period. Chicago is the hardest city that they could make a GTA. If Rockstar paid any attention to LIFE, they'd know where the put GTA V in.

when reading the OP i really liked the idea of an Chjicago based game. I know, it sounds rude, but R* loves to make fun of things wich fits the city, wich is actually great to do in Chicago.

 

GTA4 was based on New York, R* simply used the whole NY idea to create an really nice story around the city itself, wich is all about terrorism, to wich they are making jokes etc. I loved the way they did it in IV, create an whole story around the city and some sort of image around it, is there any way to do that in Miami? IMO not.

The GTA settings always have a city wich goes at one point, for example, Vice City had a lot of Scarface references, the whole Los Santos setting was built around the Los angeles riots in 1992 and San Fierro was set around the earthquake. So that simple thing actually gives me a reason to say it will not take place in already used cities.
