Mcsumusilma
Well im having a BIG lag without any reason that i can understand.. And it happens no matter if i change settings on low.. Vertical sync is off, recording is off, virtual memory should be ok, hdd should be ok, nvidia control panel settings should be allright.. (im not sure).. the lag is same at very high or very low settings And it shouldnt be my computer specs. 750w power nvidia gtx 480 4gb 1333mhz ddr3 ram cl9 amd phenom 2 x6 2.8ghz 1055t Everything else works fine (crysis ultra settings, heaven benchmark maxed settigs etc, 3d mark vantage cpu score near 15 000 wihtout processor oc) but gta works like sh*t Could it be that this game cant use x6 processor?! Or what a f*ck is it Right now gpu or cpu are not oc:d Help is pretty much appreciated.. Sry pretty bad english

Mcsumusilma
^ I tried lowest and no change This is so strange.. hmm i try now use only cpu to calculations not both gpu and cpu..
Mcsumusilma
didnt help BUT.. oops theres on new patch (new for me) 1.0.7.0 i try to install that and see what happens. I hope that helps
GTA 1911
In the Run command box type in services.msc and disable Windows Event Log then restart your computer. This has fixed key lagging problems before.
Mcsumusilma
Disabling event log didnt help But now it seems run little better with low graphics.. but eaven when i use 260mg video memory etc lag is very disturbing.. I just dont get this Hmm i try to benchmark without keyboard.. i havnt try that yet..
Mcsumusilma
nah, no effect. Next thing to try is disabling amd turbo core in bios maybe thats the problem.. This could be the very first game ever that i cannot get running properly Anyone here using amd hexacore processor?! Im pretty much sure that the processor is the problem.. Mcsumusilma
Well now when i disabled turbo core and again changed some nvidia settings i can play it without lag (some areas still lag) every setting high all draw distanges at 50 and 16x antialising It still uses only little over a half of mine v memory Well, gta iv just doesnt like gtx 480+ amd x6 It should do better.. well lets see what happens when processor is oc:d.. And some areas where there are nothing special to gpu or cpu to do it lags like hell.. This game got a pretty much bad code? Ghmhrm I think 4gb ddr3 1333mhz (timings 9-9-9-24) Would not be the problem.. with windows 7 ultimate 64 bit.. windows/apps uses 20% of that Well gtx 480 is not so good with dx10, but all other heavy apps but gta do still much better than this
Mcsumusilma
with a just litle processor oc 2.8ghz to 3.2ghz (no voltage settings changed, easy oc) runs better.. And it seems to get better when i play longer well thats good news. Anyone else playing with gtx 480, or amd x6 processor? it would be nice to know what settings you use and when it starts to get laggy
Mcsumusilma
Does gta iv use dx 9!! well that explains a lot

Spider-Vice
IV only uses DX9 but that's not the problem. Every graphics card has backwards compatibility with older DirectX's. Mcsumusilma
^ Sry i use edit next time yes, of course it is dx 9 compatible but these new fermi cards dont run so well in dx 9 as dx 10 or dx 11.. it still should run better.. my proseccor is bottleneckin gtx 480 for sure. I need to oc processor up to 3.5ghz if i want bottleneck to go away.. After that (to 4ghz) the difference to gpu score is not so big.. but better cpu clocks still boost gpu score a bit But, still gta iv runs bad.. nowhere near what it should
