Uncle Sikee Atric
It's back.... After Cartoon Network hosted the first two books, Book 3 is joining HBO Max, alongside the other, more adult content that's splitting from CN's main channels. Which was partly expected after how dark Book 2 got in places. It's not often CN would allow two characters to be, no, I'm not spoiling it, you have to watch it to see what they got away with on a kids channel :
GTA-Biker
After recently rewatching all of the 90s Marvel cartoons (X-Men, Spiderman, Iron Man, Fantastic Four, The Incredible Hulk, Silver Surfer and also Avengers United They Stand which I haven't seen before),I started watching Godzilla The Series,a spin off of the 1998 Godzilla movie.I liked this show back when I was a kid,and while I planned to check it out again for years,I finally found the time to do it,and so far I like it a lot.The story is interesting, the characters are well written, the voice acting is pretty good and the animation is high quality,it's actually better than the movie it was based on. Also,am I the only one who misses the more detailed and realistic character designs like in those cartoons from the 80s and 90s (90s Marvel cartoons, Godzilla The Series, 1987 TMNT, 1984 Transformers, etc.)?I know there were older cartoons with more simple looking character designs such as Johnny Bravo and Dexter's Lab,and that simple looking characters are cheaper and easier to animate, but I wish there were more modern cartoons with a more detailed and realistic design,it became kinda rare to see. Mister Pink
Great news for fans of The Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire, Goodfellas, Casino, The Irishman. Terrence Winter, writer and exec producer on The Sopranos and creator of Boardwalk Empire is making another mob show with none other than Nicholas Pilleggi, author of the books turned movies that are Goodfellas and Casino. He also has co-writing credits for the screenplays. It's apparently for Showtime. Pilleggi is 87, so I hope they do this and quick. Terrence Winter is also working on the new Batman spin-off series. https://deadline.com/2020/07/mob-drama-series-brian-grazer-terence-winter-nicholas-pileggi-in-worksshowtime-imagine-1202995954/ Lonely-Martin and Sunglasses 2 PACIFIC 707 - 808 STATE

darthYENIK
Been watching Punky Brewster on peacock. It’s just comfort food for me. Low stakes, big heart. Just reminds me of my childhood. Then I saw they’re doing a “Fuller House” type of reboot of the show with Soleil Moon Frye as a grown up Punky Brewster. I’m not sure I’ll like it. TheSantader25
After finishing The Wire, I've now started watching "The Deuce". It kind of has the same style which is good. Finally I went down the IMDB rabbit hole and found out she was Michelle’s (the Olson twins) friend in Full house. She was also Black Canary in the Birds of Prey movie, which I did not realize. Big Molio
Anybody been watching the awesome "Cobra Kai" now it has been picked up by Netflix? Series 1 and 2 are currently streaming, with Series 3 coming in 2021. For karate enthusiasts like me, and fans of the original "Karate Kid" films, this series is an absolute blast. It has been made with some real love for the source material, and manages to weave in nostalgia and old faces and names in an organic way. It doesn't rely on nostalgia alone, and feels fresh. It's cheesy, but knowingly so, and is frequently hilarious. The young cast is good, and what it also does is add surprisingly thoughtful layers and backstory to the characters, particularly Johnny Lawrence, who is undoubtedly the star of the show. He gives a great account of his version of events of the first film in one scene, and plays wonderfully on the old jokey suggestion by some fans that he was the good guy, and it was Daniel Larusso who was in fact the jerk. 10/10 for me, I love it. Nobody have any love for Raised by Wolves? (HBO) I'm quite shocked. It's produced and first few episodes by Ridley Scott. Deals with the absurdity of religion as well as humans and their relationship to it, and weaves a dystopic tale about AI ways that scared me like Terminator/Skynet. I'm only two episodes in but it's good. Created a thread for it here PACIFIC 707 - 808 STATE
The Time Ranger
Thinking of starting The Expanse, I've heard it described as the best sci-fi show since Battlestar Galactica, as someone who loved BSG is this comparison apt? I've not seen BSG, but The Expanse is the best sci-fi TV I've watched. It's very grounded in terms of the scope of it's sci-fi, got some great politics going on in it and some of the most intriguing, well, intrigue in terms of its central plot. Ita lso features some of the best swearing on the small screen in the form of a gravelly voiced, exquisitely dressed, older Iranian lady. The first 3 seasons are rock solid. I wasn't so hot on the most recent one, but it might just be finding its feet at Amazon, plus it feels very much like a new arc after where the ending of S3 left the series. I'll be tuning in for S5 but not expecting the greatness of the earlier seasons. in terms of my TV watching, I recently binged all of S1 of The Boys and have just finished S2 with the agonising waits week to week. It's f*cking brilliant. A sharp, incisive take on what superheroes would probably actually look like in 21st century America. The show, especially in its second season, is not shying away from getting deeply involved in the discourse on certain groups radicalising many disaffected people. I honestly don't have any real criticisms of it. Except Karl Urban's "British" accent, which is f*ckin' diabolical. The Time Ranger
GTA-Biker
I've just been watching Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous in the past few days, and I like it a lot. I don't wanna reveal too much and spoil it,but in my opinion the story is interesting (it was cool to see what was happening during Indominus' breakout from a perspective of characters who aren't Jurassic World staff like Owen and Claire, and have no idea what's going on or what to do),the characters are well written and likeable, there are some great action scenes with dinosaurs, the animation is good quality, and I like the combination of a standard CGI animated character design for human characters and a more realistic design for dinosaurs.I'd definitely recommend the show to any fan of Jurassic Park/World franchise, and generally anyone whos into dinosaurs.I can't wait for season 2 (I also hope Jurassic World Dominion will reveal Bumpy was one of the dinosaurs rescued in Fallen Kingdom by showing an adult version of her). I'm planning to check out Lego Jurassic World Legend Of Isla Nublar next, and then Primal.

Trying to convince her at home to get into it. She likes these kinds of shows show shouldn't be too hard. Must give The Expanse another go. I watched it pretty early no but had trouble getting over the visuals. It looked a little cheap. I know the writing is good, so I know I can get over that. I can do low and no budget drama but for sci-fi I need grandness. I need great CGI and set desing. Season 5 trailer is looking nice though, I must say. Failed Again
Yes, I'm a fan, I have listened or read most of the above. Good storytelling. If your a audio book fan, I recommended all Cornwell's books The Sharpe's series is amazing. It took me around 35 minutes to drive to work, and the battle portions would sometimes go beyond that.. Expanse books great And my favorite Patrick O'Brien's, Master and Commander series, (read by Simon Vance) sorry for going off topic(TV/Movies..but the books are the blocks that built the media Edited October 17, 2020 by Failed Again Mister Pink

GTA-Biker
So,recently I watched Lego Jurassic World The Legend Of Isla Nublar, and in the past few days I've been watching Genndy Tartakovsky's Primal. Lego Jurassic World-like the Lego Jurassic World game,it has a more kid friendly story, events and humor, but even as an adult I liked it (game too).I also liked that, despite being set even before Jurassic World movies,it shows some dinosaurs that didn't appear in the franchise until Fallen Kingdom, such as Allosaurus, Carnotaurus, Baryonyx and Stygimoloch.Fun show,I liked it. Primal-this show is awesome, the story of each episode is interesting, the characters of Spear and Fang are likeable and despite not saying any words you can see what they think and feel through their expressions and body language, the animation is good, and the action scenes are exciting and usually full of gore. Can't wait for more episodes. Also,I don't wanna spoil anything, but I would recommend watching episode Plague Of Madness between episodes Scent Of Prey and Coven Of The Damned for the sake of continuity, despite it being aired before Scent Of Prey. Sunglasses
I've been watching Better Call Saul recently, I'm up to season 3 now. I finished Breaking Bad a little while ago, I enjoyed it for the most part, but it didn't blow me away like it did for most other people. But the show kept me engaged and I always wanted to see how Walter and Jesse got out of the predicaments they set themselves in, and the last half of season 5 was genuinely some of the most exciting stuff put together on TV. Better Call Saul has been impressing me a lot more in general, it's like Gilligan took what he learned from his time on Breaking Bad and improved his craft, I think it's a riveting show and Saul Goodman / Jimmy McGill is one of the most entertaining protagonists I've seen in a long while. Good sh*t. TheSantader25, GAUNTLET HELLFIRE and Mister Pink
GAUNTLET HELLFIRE
I'm even more pissed off and disappointed with Supernatural. Spoiler I didn't like the final showdown with god or Jack becoming the new god at all. God bought back Lucifer from the empty and with Jack being the new god and having the power to bring back billions of people and animals why the f*ck didn't he bring back Cas? if god can do it with Lucifer then Jack can do it too and he loves Cas like a father. I get that they wanted the final scene to be just Sam and Dean but Cas has been there for over 10 years and is the biggest and most important character in the show after Sam and Dean. In the final episode I will be fine with Bobby, Mary, John and every other character from the last 15 years staying dead and not being involved in the finale but Cas needs to be alive and heavily involved either as an angel with all his powers back or even human. I thought it all made sense. Moreso after seeing the finale. Spoiler He pulled Cas out of The Empty and brought him to Heaven, which is actually a good place now, so there was no need to bring him back to life. Would have been nice to see him in heaven during the finale, though. That was probably my only gripe with the finale, really. The lack of cameos. It would have been nice to see Eileen during Sam's life montage and John and Mary in heaven. All we got was some random vampire from season one. According to Jensen Ackles they had plans for a lot of "familiar faces" to show up in some sort of montage but had to scrap it due to Covid.
