I'm going to review a mission from DYOM Theme Contest.

The Mission Called Supporting in War by Satournfan.

- Writing: Very Good. There are no mistakes in the mission and also Nice text coloring. There are shortcuts in writing some dialogues but good work.

- Presentation: Excellent! Well...Great Cutcenes, and nice viewing angle between characters. Nice placement of Vehicles at Gang War. There are exciting explosion on Cars and different animations for Characters.

- Length: Long.Total duration of this mission is 15 Minutes! Just 'cause of lots of enemies and different gang wars between Ballas and Grove Street Family.

- Difficulty: Hard! Because many tough enemies and gangs with powerful accuracy. The Author turned off Headshot which was good but more health for each characters.

Verity: Very Good. Characters include George, Nigel, Ballas and Grove Street gangs. Weapons Include MP5 (SMG), 9mm, and Micro-SMG. Pickups include lots of Armor, Health, Bribe, and a SMG. No Objects.

Overall, The Mission is greatly Interesting. Most of the times, its too hard to kill Grove gangs. I also like that you understand the thing about turning off Wanted level because gang war is a crime. Nice work for author icon14.gif .

Hello everyone,

Today, I'm going to review 3 missions made by Nick13. Although the name of the series wasn't specified, they're actually related to each other.

Please click on the missions below in order to download each of them:

- Declaration of war

- Like the old days (part1)

- Like the old days (part2)

Now, it's time for the review,

- Writing: Excellent. They're pretty much perfectly well written, although quick typing mistakes do happen, they're hardly noticeable.

- Presentation: Very Good. Nice viewing and timing for each different cutscenes. Nice close-ups for each different characters whenever they try to talk. Otherwise, noting too fancy or over-the-top cutscenes that occur.

Declaration of WAR

- Length: Short, as it can be done in 3 minutes. The player plays as both Bump and Holy alternatively, and along with Emmet Jackson, these trio old war veterans are fighting against James Griffin, Davis right hand and his goons around the trio house in east beach, Los Santos.

- Difficulty: Hard. The enemies have good accuracies and carry different weapons. The enemy with his combat shotgun can do massive damage if left unchecked. Use the surroundings carefully in order to protect against enemy fires.

- Variety: Very Good. The characters include Bump, Holy, Emmet, James and Davis goons, each of them as different actors. The weapons include ak-47, m4, mp5, combat shotgun and micro-uzi. The objects include crates, doors, metal platforms and dynamites.

Like the old days (part1)

- Length: Short, as it can be done in 3 minutes. The player plays as Bump, Holy and Emmet alternatively, and they're tasked to protect their East beach house against the gang invaders. Suddenly, an unknown old man just injured Bump with his rifle.

- Difficulty: Normal. The enemies have good accuracies and carry different weapons. Fortunately, the player carry many different weapons in this mission. Use the surroundings carefully in order to protect against enemy fires.

- Variety: Very Good. The characters include Bump, Holy, Emmet, an unknown man and Davis goons, each of them as different actors. The weapons include ak-47, m4, mp5, pistol, combat shotgun, country rifle and micro-uzi. The objects include crates, doors and metal platforms.

Like the old days (part2)

- Length: Decent, as it can be done in 4 minutes. The player plays as Emmet, and along with Holy, fights against the remaining Davis goons inside their house. After this, Emmet exits the house and saw the injured Bump at the rooftop of their house.

- Difficulty: Normal. The enemies have good accuracies despite carrying less different weapons. The interior layout can be distracting as most obstacles block the player's gunshots. Nonetheless, use the surroundings carefully in order to protect against enemy fires and aim them carefully.

- Variety: Good. The characters include Bump, Holy, Emmet and Davis goons, each of them as different actors. The weapons include ak-47, m4 and mp5. The objects include crates, doors and metal platforms.

Overall, the missions are very good icon14.gif. Since the missions are scripted in a way that the player and his allies have to stay idle in a defensive position, some enemies and objects are spawned out of thin air if the player moves around a lot. Otherwise great job for the author and keep up the great work biggrin.gif .

Hello everyone,

Today, I'm going to review 3 missions made by jetjatin. They're part of his BUYSAG: Mountain Cloud Boys storyline.

Please click on the missions below in order to download each of them:

- Move on!

- Ancient power

- Moving outdoor

Now, it's time for the review,

- Writing: Good. There's a noticable amount of typing and structural mistakes, but it doesn't really detract much from the overall experience of understanding the storyline of each missions. Nice text colorings.

- Presentation: Very Good. Nice viewing and timing between different cutscenes. Some missions are very creative in terms of design, such as the "Action power" mission.

Move on

- Length: Good, as it can be done in 6 minutes. The player plays as Drake , Woozie's nephew, and he has been tasked to see his uncle in San Fierro's Chinatown, when suddenly, he got stuck on a top of mount Chilliad against some Da Nang Boyz members into a brawl fight.

- Difficulty: Easy. The player must brawl fight against 3 enemies. They don't have a lot of health, so it's recommended to knock out one enemy at a time. Use a sport car to descend from the top of the mountain to the destination.

- Variety: Good. The characters include Drake, Woozie, the Triads and the Da Nang Boyz members and the non-playable pedestrians. The weapon includes the ak-47. The vehicle includes a white sport car.

Ancient Power

- Length: Good, as it can be done in 5 minutes. The player Drake and his partner Suzie have been tasked by Woozie to steal the book of Yin Chang which is been seized by the Da Nang Boyz members at the Chinatown back alleyway.

- Difficulty: Hard. The enemies have accuracies but are large in numbers to kill. To make matters worse, the police constantly interferes the player each time he commits a crime. The object platform part is quite easy to cross around.

- Variety: Very good. The characters include Drake, Woozie, Suzie and the Da Nang Boyz members. The weapons include the ak-47, pistol and micro-uzi. The vehicle includes a white sport car. The objects and items include healthpack, armor, marijuana plant, doors, metal platforms and fences.

Moving Outdoor

- Length: Very Good, as it can be done in 7 minutes. The player Drake has been tasked Woozie to meet Lee at the San Fierro airport, and the latter tasks the protagonist to help Ken Rosenberg escape from a gang war between the Triads and Da Nang Boyz members and to steal a sport car from an owner.

- Difficulty: Normal. The enemies have good accuracies but are not very large in numbers. Also, the player has a lot of allies who can help him to defeat the enemies without getting too much involved from the law enforcement. The mission also requires careful readings because a destination is not shown on the GPS.

- Variety: Very good. The characters include Drake, Woozie, Lee, Ken Rosenberg and the Da Nang Boyz members. The weapons include the ak-47, pistol and micro-uzi. The vehicles include the player and a owner cars. The items include healthpack and armor.

Overall, the missions are good and fun to play icon14.gif , minus the cop interference. The writings also need improvements as some part of the writings feels somewhat rushed. Otherwise, good job for the author and keep up the good work biggrin.gif .

Well, if you know what to do and where to go, which includes the jammed GPS part, completing the mission with that length is possible. Nonetheless, it is still lengthly, mainly because of the road traveling. smile.gif

Sorry that I didn't reply to your posts before, even though I was aware they are about the video playthroughs you made on Youtube.

They are very good, I like the mods that you putted in the game, the ENB series effects and the background musics. It really has a military theme on it.

However, they're video playthroughs and not full-fledged reviews with feedbacks. So unfortunately, they don't belong to this topic. I believe they belong more to the "DYOM Trailers" topic made by Jetjatin. Ask him on PM if you can put your videos on his topic smile.gif .

Hello everyone,

Today, I'm going to review 4 missions made by [wK]comander. They're part of his Life in San Fierro series.

The missions can be downloaded on a package at: http://dyom.gtagames.nl/?act=download&id=12468 .

Now, it's time for the review,

- Writing: Excellent. They're pretty much perfectly well written. The author also gives accurate descriptions for each objectives. Nice text colorings too.

- Presentation: Very Good. Nice timing and viewing shots between different cutscenes. Nice use of animations in order to put more life into the storyline of the missions.

Life in San Fierro(prt.6)

- Length: Short, as it can be done in 3 minutes. The player plays as CJ, and he escapes Sweet's house in Parasido, San Fierro after he murdered the owner, stole his money, his clothes and takes refuge on a hotel in Avispa Country club with his yellow Manana car.

- Difficulty: Easy. The mission mainly consists of driving from point A to point B and watch the cutscenes in order to understand the storyline. So there's no gunfights or dangerous obstacles to go through, unless the player intentionally get busted by the cops or doing careless accidents.

- Variety: Decent. The characters include CJ, his Sweet's disguise and the mysterious pimp. The weapon includes the mp5. The vehicle includes a yellow Manana.

Life in San Fierro(prt.7)

- Length: Good, as it can be done in 6 minutes. The player CJ escapes the motel in Avispa Country Club, San Fierro. Under Sweet's disguise, he manages to go through of a SFPD roadblock near a highway tunnel and uses his GPS to locate his new house in Calton heights.

- Difficulty: Easy. The mission mainly consists of driving from point A to point B and watch the cutscenes in order to understand the storyline. So there's no gunfights or dangerous obstacles to go through, unless the player intentionally get busted by the cops or doing careless accidents.

- Variety: Good. The characters include CJ, his Sweet's disguise, SFPD officers, the mysterious biker and the mysterious pimp. The weapons include the mp5, pistol and shotgun. The vehicles include a yellow Manana and SFPD cars.

Life in San Fierro(prt.8)

- Length: Very Good, as it can be done in 7 minutes. The player CJ notices that the SFPD is about to get into his house in Calton heights and decides to escape the heat to a Chinatown back alley to pick up some powerful weapons.

- Difficulty: Hard. The player must escape a 3 star wanted level from the cops by going through the checkpoints which is hard because of the slow velocity of the Manana car. After acquiring some powerful weapons, the player must escape a 4 star wanted level from the cops while at the same time killing some mandatory enemies, which can be tedious for an average player.

- Variety: Good. The characters include CJ, his Sweet's disguise, SFPD officers, SWAT members and the mysterious biker. The weapons include the mp5, m4, flame-thrower, pistol, shotgun and police stick. The vehicles include a yellow Manana and SFPD cars.

Life in San Fierro(prt.9)

- Length: Very Short, as it can be done in 2 minutes. The player CJ is in San Fierro prison but manages to escape the area by stealth killing an army soldier doing crack in a corner, puts the army uniform, steals a patriot car and heads up to the Garcia alleyways in order to hide from the cops.

The characters include CJ, his army's disguise, army soldiers, SWAT members and SFPD officers. The weapons include the knife, m4, and pistol. The vehicles include an army patriot, a maverick helicopter and SFPD cars.

Overall, the missions are good icon14.gif . Some missions, particularly the part 8 mission, has bugs where the player cannot progress the mission because he exits the house accidentally and cannot go back to the house, which unfortunately forces the player to restart the mission. Otherwise, good job for the player and keep up the good work biggrin.gif .

Hello everyone,

Today, I'm going to review 2 missions made by yo-g. Although there's no title of this mission series, they're related to each other.

Please click on the links below in order to download each of them.

- revenge

- INTERNAL TRAP

Now, it's time for the review,

- Writing: Decent. There's an occasional amount of typing mistakes that can be found on both missions. Also, the author obviously uses a translator to do his writings as some words, aside of names, are written in spanish. Fortunately, the mission objectives are easy to understand.

- Presentation: Good. Nice timing and viewing between different cutscenes. There's no over-the-top or crazy stunts to be seen in these cutscenes, but they're here to explain the mission objectives, which is good enough on it's own right.

revenge

- Length: Very Short, as it can be done in 2 minutes. The player plays as a thug named Jimmy, a former Vagos member, and he has been tasked to kill the Vagos boss right hand Fernando with his Vagos goons at Ocean docks cargo site from Ganton, Los santos with a white sport car.

- Difficulty: Easy. The enemies have good accuracies and are equipped with sub-machine guns. Fortunately, as the action take place in a wide open area, the player can actually run over them with a car. To make things easier you only have to kill the main target in order to trigger the MISSION PASSED! message.

- Variety: Good. The characters include Jimmy, Fernando and the Vagos Goons. The weapons include the mp5 and micro-uzi. The vehicles include the player and Vagos cars. The items include healthpack and armor.

INFERNAL TRAP

- Length: Good, it can be done in 6 minutes. The player Jimmy has been tasked by a Grove Street member named J.B. to assist him to fight against the Vagos members at Ocean docks port from Ganton. Once there, Jimmy learns that it's actually a trap and must get out of the trapped warehouse and the area with his turquoise Esperanto car.

- Difficulty: Hard. The action consists how getting out of the trapped small warehouse full of enemies and to kill the remaining enemies who is blocking the exit of the port with their cars. The small warehouse part can be tough as there less room to cover against the enemy fires and they actually take a while to be killed, so kill them as fast as you could is the best option. Once outside, it's wise to find a car quick, mainly due of cop interference.

- Variety: Very Good. The characters include Jimmy, the Grove member J.B. and the Vagos Goons. The weapons include the mp5, ak-47 and micro-uzi. The vehicles include the player and Vagos cars. The items include healthpack and armor. The objects include crates and metallic platforms.

Overall the mission are alright to play icon14.gif . Things that need to be improved would be the writings. Otherwise, good job for the author and keep up the good work biggrin.gif .

Hello everyone,

Today, I'm going to review 4 missions made by FangYe (SevilleCheng). They're part of his Things to do in Las Venturas series.

The missions can be downloaded at: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=472778 .

Now, it's time for the review,

- Writing: Good. Overall, it is generally very well written even though there's few typing mistakes, but they're barely noticeable. The punctuations such as comma (,) and period (.) also tend to stick together between 2 different words. Nice text colorings.

- Presentation: Very Good. Nice timing and viewing between different cutscenes. There's no over-the-top or crazy stunts to be seen in these cutscenes, but the missions are generally very detailed with a lot of intensity going on.

Silent Assassin

- Length: Decent, as it can be done in 4 minutes. The player plays as Seville (Woozie), and he has been tasked by the biker Wiki to kill a guy named Kevin Christy at his house in Fort Carson town and escape from the Bad Tea Boys gangs and cops at the same time.

- Difficulty: Easy. The main action of the mission is to stealth-kill the target, with a silenced pistol, while he's sleeping and escape the enemies, while at the same time having a 2 star wanted level. In short, it's not hard unless the player is completely spaced out.

- Variety: Good. The characters include Seville, Wiki, Kevin Chirsty and the Bad Tea Boys (Da Nang Boyz) gang members. The weapons include the pistol, silenced gun, micro-uzi, mp5 and shotgun. The vehicles include Seville pink Club car and the Bad Tea Boyz gang cars.

More Roads,Less Ships

- Length: Excellent, as it can be done in 10 minutes. The player Seville and his friends JJY and Heroman from The School in Bayside town, have been tasked to kill the Bad Tea boys at their cargo ship at the coast of San Fierro and plant a bomb there.

- Difficulty: Normal. The main action of the mission is to kill all enemies inside the large cargo ship, plant a bomb and escape the area. The enemies have good accuracies and can make a lot of damage to the player if he doesn't get covered quick enough. Fortunately, there's a good amount of healthpacks and armor.

- Variety: Very Good. The characters include Seville, JJY, Heroman and the Bad Tea boys gang members. The weapons include pistol, mp5, micro-uzi, tec-9, shotgun, sniper and grenade. The vehicles include The School black car and the maverick helicopter. The items include healthpacks and armor.

Entrapment

- Length: Good, as it can be done in 5 minutes. The player Seville has been tasked by Officer Fish (Pulaski) to meet Officer PLC (Tenpenny) at Redsands west, Las Venturas. During the road traveling, a fake passenger wants to scam the taxi driver by acting sick and Fish caught the fake guy. As he doesn't want to get involved into this mess, Seville kills Fish and the fake passenger.

- Difficulty: Medium. There's 2 enemies to kill, Officer Fish and the fake passenger. The player needs to kill Fish very quick as this enemy is equipped with a desert eagle and they're close to each other. As for the fake passenger, he is pretty much harmless. Then, the player must escape a 3 star wanted level by going into a spray garage.

- Variety: Good. The characters include Seville, Officer Fish, Officer PLC, the taxi driver and the fake passenger. The weapons include pistol and desert eagle gun. The vehicles include Black Cheetah, LVPD cars and the taxi cab.

Hands up,Sir!

- Length: Decent, as it can be done in 4 minutes. The player Seville has been ambushed by the SWAT members at the rooftops of the come-a-lot district in Las Venturas. After killing them, he must lose the heat and heads up to the Biker Wiki's club in Bone County just west of the city.

- Difficulty: Medium. The enemies are equipped with sub-machine guns and have average accuracies. However, they're spawn in places where the player is completely surrounded. Use the surroudings as your advantage and kill them fast as possible. Then, the player must escape a 3 star wanted level by going into a spray garage.

- Variety: Good. The characters include Seville, the Biker Wiki, Big Carl (Torino) and the SWAT members. The weapons include mp5, micro-uzi and tec-9. The vehicles Seville's own car.

Overall the mission are very good icon14.gif . There's still some improvements to be done with the writings as some parts of the writings are somewhat rushed. Otherwise, great job for the author and keep up the great work biggrin.gif .

Hello everyone,

Today, I'm going to review 3 missions made by Drift-Kingz. They're part of The Infection series.

The missions can be downloaded at: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=472289 .

Now, it's time for the review,

- Writing: Excellent. The writing are pretty much perfectly well written, and if there's any mistakes, they're hardly noticeable because it's very rare.

- Presentation: Very Good. Nice viewing and timing between different cutscenes. Some cutscenes have some really cool effects, such as the explosive introduction mission. Also, nice eerie weather effects.

Introduction

- Length: Too Short, as it can be done in 30 seconds. The player plays as Mark Lancaster (The Truth), and along with his friends Oliver Westley (Maccer) and Robert Jarret (Kent Paul), they're the only survivors of this infected outbreak in Whetstone, San Andreas in 1994.

- Difficulty: Very Easy. This is a only cutscene mission, so it's pretty much impossible to die. Just watch the cutscenes until a MISSION PASSED message pops up.

- Variety: Decent. The characters include Mark, Olivier and Robert. The item includes the explosions. That's it.

Lee Wong

- Length: Very Good, as it can be done in 7 minutes. The player Mark, Olivier and Robert decide to leave Whetstone town by heading up to Santa Maria beach district, Los Santos to meet a Chinese named Lee for the vaccine of the Infection. During their road travelings, the trio also got intercepted by the Government officials.

- Difficulty: Medium. The enemies have good accuracies and some of them carry some damaging weapons such as desert eagle. Fortunately, as the player also has it's 2 allies, they can help you to defeat the enemies quickly without too much trouble.

- Variety: Very Good. The characters include Mark, Olivier, Robert, Lee Wong with his goon and the Government officials (Pulaski, Tenpenny, Ken, Torino and a countryside officer). The weapons include mp5, micro-uzi, pistol, desert eagle, ak-47, m4, dildo and baseball bat. The vehicles include Mark and the Government official cars.

Meeting at Chiliad

- Length: Very Short, as it can be done in 2 minutes. The player Mark. Olivier and Robert are hiding inside the bushes, on the top of Mount Chilliad after acquiring the book for the infection vaccine, carefully listening the conversation between the Da Nang Boyz gang members. Unfortunately, one of them spook the trio and their ringleader escapes with his car.

- Difficulty: Easy. The enemies have average accuracies and carry sub-machine guns. Fortunately, as the action happens in a wide open area, it`s easy to keep distance from the enemy shots, not too mention your allies assistance.

- Variety: Good. The characters include Mark, Olivier, Robert, the ringleader Ming and his Da Nang boyz goons. The weapons include micro-uzi, mp5 and ak-47. The vehicle includes Ming`s car.

Overall, the missions are good icon14.gif . The missions should have more balanced length as the 1st and 3rd missions are very short, while the 2nd one can be long due for the road traveling. Otherwise, good job for the author and keep up the good work biggrin.gif .

Hello everyone,

Today, I'm going to review 3 missions made by Jimmy_Leppard. They're part of The Story of Leon Ridge series.

The missions can be downloaded at: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=473647&st=0 .

Now, it's time for the review,

- Writing: Excellent. The writing are pretty much perfectly well written, and if there's any mistakes, they're hardly noticeable because it's very rare.

- Presentation: Very Good. Nice viewing and timing between different cutscenes. Most of the cutscenes are used to explain in details the mission objectives. So don't expect too much crazy stunts going on in these cutscenes.

Friend patrol

- Length: Very Good, as it can be done in 7 minutes. The player plays as Leon, he got a call from Derek that he needs his assistance against a freed Julio and his goons who want their money from Derek.
