anyone know anything about growing weed in the woods? im going to start growing and i think the best place where i live is the woods, and i was wondering if it would have enough sun, and water, because i wasn't really planning on watering. the ferns and other plants can survive perfectly, so why would weed have a problem?

The problem is that the FBI will notice immediatly.

I swear you only just started smoking. And yeah someone would most likely find it, and steal your bud.

For everyone planning on voting yes on Prop. 19, please do more research. This is not a good thing for weed and the people who use it. It will do much more harm than good.

All it will do is industrialise weed and regulate it even more than present. Soon after it's passed you'll be seeing Marlboro joints, with more toxins than you can imagine pumped in, at an incredibly jacked up price.

Then cannabis will face the same fate tobacco did. It'll labeled as dangerous to health because of the additives, and it'll be so difficult to find some pure weed that people will just not bother and continue buying the poison pumped out by the corporations.

I'm all for legalisation, but this bill certainly isn't the right way.

The bill won't affect me, as I don't even live in the US. But all I ask is that you do more research into the bill and the possible hidden agendas behind legalisation. Because the more I look into it, the more I see that this is by no means a good thing.

How about we set standards that don't allow additives...

or better yet, don't buy it.

or as the bill allows grow your own.

People who smoke weed care more about the weed than people who smoked tobacco back then, so I think people will take care of it. If the customers want natural weed than companies will give it to them, all we gotta do is not buy weed with additives.

This additive stuff is a scare tactic, and sadly enough a tactic employed by dispensaries....

This is the thing. Once the corporations start mass producing, the majority of the population will simply buy what they sell instead of growing it themselves due to how easy it is to buy it from, say, a Walmart instead of growing it themselves. The amount of people who will buy the toxin ridden weed will be much higher than the people who don't.

As for setting standards, I'm sure the FDA will intervene and require the addition of some additives in order to comply with their 'standards' (keep in mind that the weed we get now hasn't needed any of these 'required' additives).

The growing that the bill allows is severely limited. The restrictions would mean that only corporations would be capable of producing weed in quantities larger than personal amounts. Basically, all it does is help the big names get hold of the market and monopolise it, causing small growers to be forced out of business (who have been providing high quality weed to so many people at reasonable prices for a long time now). Once the competition is eliminated, the prices will get jacked up and you'll be paying more than what you do now. So at a certain point, there will be so few personal growers remaining that people would be forced to buy what the corporations offer, if they want to obtain it easily.

Holy f*ck man, just bought Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by the Smashing Pumpkins (One of my favorite artists). Listening to the whole thing stoned back to back, it's a f*cken great album.

Honestly jealous my friend. I've listened to them live, Corgan has a weird way of changing his voice during his live performances. Just such a damn shame that there truly is no "Smashing Pumpkins", anymore. I mean their still a group, but without Iha, D'arcy, and Jimmy(In my opinion when the Pumpkins' were at their best) their just not the same. Corgan is an amazing musician, but the magic is lacking these days.

Agreed?

Oh definitely, their latest album isn't bad, but not as good as Mellon Collie. Was quite disappointed they never played Zero live. Even though everyone in the ground was chanting it, instead Corgan came back out and we had to sing him happy birthday because it was his birthday. Bloody prude.

Oh yeah man, he definitely has that ego. I could easily see him doing something like that, but I guess that's what makes Corgan, Corgan. In all honestly though the only song I really enjoy off of their new album is Song for A Son. I've been listening to Mellon Collie for years just picked it up today though for the first time for some reason, got it for about 12.99$ (USD).

Not to sound rude, but are you f*cking stupid? Do you know how hard it is to find "pure" weed now? It's f*cking easy as sh*t, just because it's industrialized you think people will stop growing? That makes no sense.

In reference to cigarettes this makes sense, because not everyone can grow tobacco in their backyards. But you can grow dope anywhere. Indoors and out, in any type of weather.(Indoor) There will be no shortage of "pure" weed man. Your reasoning is illogical to the fullest degree.

Dude, do you know how much growing is allowed right now for personal use?

NONE.

I don't see how there will be "competition" in an industry where if I don't want it, I can grow my own. Jesus, if they ever industrialize it and pump it full of toxins then guess what, I'll be gettin high on my own f*cken supply. You don't think MILLIONS of other people won't do the same? I mean sure dealers won't make money anymore, but guess what. They sure as sh*t won't be spending any on the company's products either, because they'll just be gettin f*cken stoned off their own plants.

If you could grow your own tobacco to make into your own cigarettes, would you?

You're damn f*cken right you would. So quite honestly that's why I don't give a f*ck about "Industrialization" Or anything else like that for that matter, because I can still grow my own "pure" weed, right from the comfort of my own damn home.

You're missing something here man.

First of all, not everyone is capable of growing. There may be various reasons for this. So what these people do is buy weed from dealers, and this weed is natural.

However, once the bill passes and the corporations take over and the number of growers reduce, these people will go ahead and buy what these corporations pump out. So it's harder to get natural weed.

Not all people who smoke weed care if it has additives. They just want to get high. Now what makes you think that these same people would resort to growing themselves instead of simply buying what the stores stock up, as long as it gets them high?

If you could grow your own tobacco to make into your own cigarettes, would you?

I would, but I can't. So I either have to resort to the poison they sell as cigs or do without it completely. See what I mean?

In this case, all the people who cannot grow weed for themselves will have to either resort to what they have in stores or do without it.

Whereas before the corporations took hold of the market, this same person could get some high quality, natural herb easily.

I understand where you're coming from, but the thing is.. Everyone really IS capable of growing. Who the f*ck can't throw a couple seeds in some dirt and let a plant sprout? (I guess you'd be surprised).

Survival of the fittest, for the people who aren't smart enough or are too lazy to grow their own dope, then they'll have to suffer. Simple as that. The point your making makes sense if you're lazy, and or incompetent, and holy f*ck there is a lot of that in the world today. And if you give in to these "corporations" then honestly you're just absolutely lazy.

So whatever, once again. I don't give a sh*t. I'll grow my own, let the lazy and incompetent f*cks rot for all I care.

As Ween (A great band) says:

"I'll keep truckin, and gettin myself stoned"

It isn't just laziness/being incompetent mate. There are a whole load of possible reasons. Things like space, your landlord not being fine with it or living with people who aren't fine with it, not having enough time for maintaining the plants, etc.

growing weed isnt just putting a seed in a pile of dirt dozingoff.gif

you have to have a good ventilated area with the the right amount of wettness in the air (dont know the english word)

you'll have to buy the right 'voedingstoffen' (dont know the english word either) tounge.gif

then you have to buy the right lamps

then you have to know how much of everything you need

you also have a chance that their are some male plants, <-- f*cked up

etc....

nope, growing good weed isnt as easy as you think

Basically it all comes down to humidity, light and care. I had a friend in ninth grade that tried buying some cannibus plants to start growing in his attic, but when he realised that pot is much like a plant (Crazy discovery there) he also realised that he had no idea how to properly for anything like it.

With all this talk of growing going around, where does one obtain seeds? Are the seeds you find in bud the growing-kind? Or was that a dumb thing to say - you'll have to excuse me as I have roughly 0% knowledge of growing.

A seed's a seed bro. You can even grow some super dank weed with seeds you get from a bag of schwag. So seeds you get from your weed is fine.

You can also buy from online seedbanks. They've got loads of different strains.

The only difference between buying from seedbanks and using bagseed is that seedbanks usually guarantee a germination rate and you can also get guaranteed female seeds.

The Real Seed Company one of the reliable seedbanks.

Alright, because I've saved the seeds I've found in my bud for possible future uses. In all honesty growing a plant seems like an easy thing to do if you can motivate yourself enough to make a small habit out of caring for your plant.

All seeds are sold solely as collectible genetic souvenirs and as a means of preserving the biodiversity of Cannabis sativa through correct storage only.

I do love UK loopholes like that, but I do find it slightly odd that US outlying islands can be shipped the seeds for this use. tounge.gif

I guess Puerto Rico had to come up with some hook for people since feeling left out from the rest.

Dude, in terms of what we're talking about, you'll want male plants.

@SaintJimmy, your seeds will come from your male plants more or less so, instead of what you would normally do (Just rip up the males) you'd keep em for the seeds so you could grow again.

Uhh.. no, you don't want males. And no, seeds don't come from males, pollen does, which infects your females, causing THEM to stop producing buds and start producing seeds..

Pollinating is the worst thing that can happen to a crop. The bud will taste harsh due to the pollen, the buds will stop growing as the plant shifts its energy to producing seedlings instead of buds, and of course, you will have seeds in all your weed.

@SJ: If you want feminized seeds, online is your best bet. There are a handful of grow boards which have guides on the safest way to order these seeds, along with lists of sites that are confirmed reliable and sites that are reported bad. This is the best information to have, as these guys are ordering seeds online on a semi-regular basis, and know just how to keep your personal information away from shady sites. You NEVER use a credit card with your name on it, for example.
