1st - sorry if thats not theright way to spell kinect as i havent seen its spelling yet just told by a friend that its name just got revealed and thats what it was.

so with project natal ( kinect ) on its way and microsoft saying its going to change gaming as we know it what would be some features that R* could incorparate into the next GTA to enhance it

I also believe this is somthing R* would do as they've already shown there not afreid to add things like this, hence some motion features in chinatownwars

please discuss...

lets just kill this and not give R* the idea, kinect looks awful who wants to play games using an invisible body controller?

Yeah I kind of think R* will be the last studio to use MC, unless they make another table tennis game. R* is a big big studio who do what ever they want, and I don't think they want to do MC.

The motion sensors in general in the current time are not for big interactive action games . There are a lot of interactions in Grand Theft Auto that are impossible to be done using motion sensors . So , if motion sensors will be used in a Grand Theft Auto Game , their roles will be limited for some interactions like Manhunt 2 on Wii .

Seriously dude, no f*cking way.

This motion control sh*t is ruining gaming. I really hope natal doesn't take off.

True that.

I dont get why motion sensing was even introduced into gaming in the first place. It works for Wii where its for active casual gamers but for us PS3 and 360 users, we rather sit our lazy ass down while working our thumbs.

It's "Kinetic" from Greek "Kinetikos" = "Moving".

And no, I don't see how that would work either.

Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns.

They could make it work... didn't GTA have Sixaxis controlled helicopters? Oh wait that was lame.

Grand theft auto has way too much stuff to do to really make motion controls work in a convincing manner. SIXAXIS was fine for things like bowling and whatnot, so if they choose to incorporate it there, they can go ahead. As long as I have the option of not using it.

As for the opinions about "ruining gaming," I doubt it. That phrase has been thrown around so many times that gaming should have flatlined as soon as the crash of 1983 came along.

I don't get why people are so negative to this. Maybe it wouldn't be any good in Kinect's current form, but I think motion controlling and 3D is the future of gaming, it could be great. Maybe not just yet though.

I don't know either.

Not sure about Kinect but Move controls could basically be added to any game.

I can imagine playing GTA V like this.

Socom 4

Well... that looks, pretty awful.

Trying to aim the gun in that looks real swell.

I don't think so. Analog aiming is getting better and better, but it's long away from perfect, especially with GTA. If Move isn't too expensive, and actually work, then sign me up. But Natal/kinect nahhh don't think so.

The cross hair seemed to jump around an awful lot.

I know it only pre-alpha but i just think the aiming looks horrible.

I'd rather ps3 and xbox continued making real games and left the gimmicks to the wii.

I agree, but it's a bit too late now.

Still, i'm not fan of motion control from what i've seen and played so far and my biggest concern is that if popular enough, it could replace the joypad altogether.

Socom 4 on the PS3 looks awesome with the PSMove controller...

Still, Kinect looks balls and I hope GTA never goes near it.

PSMove + GTA maybe, but Kinect... nah.

I think Kinect could work, but it would have to be in combination withe the controller. But still I don't really know how, maybe you could throw grenades, opening valves. You know secondary commands, but nothing major.

What? I was a lot more optimistic before the show. I had kind of hoped they would have showed some aiming. The only cool thing was the few sec's of MGS:R, and that had nothing to do with Kinect .

You obviously didnt watch the conference so I will wrapped it up for you.

CoD: Black Ops, meh.

Halo: Reach, meh.

Gears of War 3, f*cking intense.

And then in an interest of time.....

An hour and a half of Kinect bullsh*t.

What I mean is that you can control the whole ingame character. This could be implemented into any game.

Look at this

Yeah that star wars thing.... Of course we didn't actually get to see someone play it, but it felt very much like the character were moving on rails, it seamed like the only thing he controlled were the force wave and the lightsaber.

The last thing I want is a GTA on rails.
