True, some language is allowed on cable these days, I've seen it over the years, believe me.

They actually mentioned the different line takes for the finale on The Talking Dead after I typed it in, so I was ahead of the 8 ball. Pretty wierd

Both shows finished now, but my computer crashed while I was testing a USB audio device, so I had to close everything and reboot. I didn't get back to this right away, but it was pretty funny. Their new producer said the FCC's to blame, and Chris Hardwick tried to coax Andrew Lincoln to say the line but all he'd admit to is it felt pretty good to just say it no holds barred

I'm pretty sure BB got away with dropping the f-bomb once. "My name is ASAC Schrader, and you can go f*ck yourself".

It was said several times, Walter flat-out said "f*ck you" in a vicious tone, to the woman who co-owns Grey Matter.

"f*ck you and your eyebrows!" was the best one

Like Ryan, I too was expecting a little more. But nonetheless a suspenseful episode.

The last 10 minutes was definitely "Damn, what the hell is going to happen"

When the watch, riot gear and poncho were shown being worn by terminus people I was like sh*t what
happened to Eugene, Glenn and the rest. Then we come to find they are all ok and in the train car. And @ the ads for the season finale: http://media.comicbook.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/maggie-terminus-the-walking-dead.jpg
Well apparently everyone lol.

And we know Tyreese, Carol and Judith are ok. And Beth is...well somewhere.

Also the way that Rick was being showcased for this finale, I was getting a bit of a feeling they might be killing him off. Thankfully they didn't.

Overall, I enjoyed season 4. I'd say my favorite season after season 1. (Nothing has matched its tone and visual style since imo)

And for the lolz:

Am I the only one who thought the episode didn't live up to the hype? Don't get me wrong, I thought it was a great episode, probably the best of the second part of the season, but for all the hype there was surrounding the episode and how we would see a side of Rick we never saw before, I just didn't really think it seemed to live up to it.

Yeah. As a reader of the comics I was expecting a little more brutality form Rick when it came to his attack on Joe. He took one bite out of the guy's neck, which was nice, but they didn't actually show him repeatedly stabbing the other guy. I wanted him to gouge that f*cker's eyes out and curbstomp him a few times.

I was digging. Rick kicked so much ass in that scene. The comic takes things a little too far....

Lucille versus Glen, anyone?

...and if the show has trouble getting 'f*ck' in an episode I think that level of brutality is a bit past their standards.

HUGE fan of the comics, seen some episodes (first season in bits but pretty much entirely... way back. And some random episodes from S2/3). So... is this still as sh*t as it was/is?

I mean, I get how they're trying to do something different than what the comics told storywise... but they managed (from what I've seen/noticed) f*ck up everything TWD was awesome at. Surviving, the humanity in a 'inhuman' society (and the inhumanity of survivors/surviving), common sense, people driven to their extremes and coping with it, people exceeding their normal capabilities and being BAMF's).

Also the small details of pistols/revolvers being held totally illogical (even by some of the people who should've been experienced in handling firearms), rifles not having proper sights, being crooked and whatnot.

But apart from those errors... does the story get better? Do they manage to bring it back to the epic level of the comics? Or is the only highlight of the show the couple attractive female actors and the awesome Daryl going HAM on walkers and assholes alike? (and yeah also that, Daryl/Merle seemed the only good thing they 'changed' from the comics).

Yeah, regarding the FCC, the producer of the latest season sitting in on The Talking Dead suggested the FCC monitoring AMC's WD broadcasts, if it showed up earlier in terms of allowed language, it could be different factors like those external or internal, I heard some time ago that hours of broadcast are a determining factor on if the FCC will levy a fine on broadcasts that may push the envelope.

Also, IFC for example runs disclaimers and tries to never edit a film it's broadcasting. Kudos to them for making the effort

The Odyssey

I'm surprised they included the scene from the comics where coral is raped, even if it was for like 2 seconds.

They can rape a boy but they can't say f*cked. Get your sh*t together, television.

He wasn't raped, he almost was. Andrew Lincoln (Rick) said on the Talking Dead that in all his other takes, he dropped an F-Bomb but they used the one where he didn't (he looked genuinely disappointed by this)

One thing I noticed; is that the first time Daryl's body count was lower than everyone else's? Rick gets Joe with the bite and then guts the rapist, Michonne gets two kills via gunshot and Daryl only gets one via curb stomp. Letting the side down, man.

I like how both Rick and Michonne both try to make a move but get beaten down. It showed that these guys had plenty of experience killing and weren't just some pushovers. Rick would have to take things to the next level to beat them and so he did.

Glen Vs Lucille is brutal but that'll be later on (hopefully, I want Nagan to be in it). So whose gonna survive Terminus? My money's on Sasha and Rick's left hand for non-survivors (would the show be cruel enough to take the right?)

Rick, Daryl & Abraham better do some badass slaughtering next season. I think Abraham would be pretty angry since he didn't even want to go there in the first place.

I really thought he was going to say "f*ck" instead of "screw" when he said, "they're screwing with the wrong people." Why not? Breaking Bad dropped a couple "f-bombs" over the years. They need to soften the impact for when...

Negan comes in and every other word is "f*ck". Although, I doubt they'll even try.

"They're screwing with the wrong people"

What a finale, I can't believe AMC had the balls to air the bandit scene. I don't like it when the show follows the comics so directly but that was an essential turning point for Rick's character arc, not just for the season but for the entire series. That was the moment when he accepted the type of person he was and the things he would have to do to keep his son safe, an issue he's been struggling with since season 2 when Shane told him he could never do what was necessary. In other words, Rick is now "awake".

"I never know what time it is... it's always right now to me"

The flashbacks with Hershel at the prison was such an incredible way to conclude the season and show how far Rick has come since then. I'm really glad they chose to do flashbacks to happier times for Hershel's last scene on the show, any other character's final on screen moments are usually violent and/or emotional. For the first time in the series we were given closure to a beloved character after their death, and it was much appreciated imo.

"I'm just another monster"

Many seeds for season 5 were planted in the finale, Rick's dark character transformation, that candle-lit satanic memorial room and pile of human bones, the mutiple other train cars (one of which I think is holding Beth), but what i'm most excited for is Carl's inner morality struggle. After he shot that teenager in the season 3 finale I was hoping some focus would shift to Carl for season 4, but the writers took a step back from that story arc and instead focused on Lizzie , which actually assited in Carl's character development. After Lizzie the viewers can only imagine what kind of thoughts Carl is having, and I can't wait to see how that plays out.

EDIT: Chandler Riggs is going to be a teenager next season. Since Robert Kirkman plans for the show/comic to never end and he can't control Chandler's rapid aging, i'm guessing Rick is eventually going to die on the show and the comic story will then be re-written to follow Carl. That's if the show survives that long.

When rick was biting that guys throat I was super happy and excited I was slightly disappointed with the way rick killed the other guy, I was hoping for something more violent like ripping his throat with his bare hands or cutting his head off, It was good how it was but it would of been better if it showed more of the stabbing though.

Andrew Lincoln himself said that was the most violent scene in the entire series, and you guys wanted more? You guys sound like Lizzie.

Judging by the finale, the next season should be quite violent and gruesome. Hopefully it will quench your mutilation fetishes. :p

Well the series producer who left, he left over creative differences, and they're hyping the upcoming seasons return with more plot twists and turns, so it's unlikely to be following the comics again, in most cases. There's much more room to explore characters and drop some in and out of the storyline.

The main thing I got from The Talking Dead was that they're excited, even Andrew Lincoln said it's the most fun he's ever had as an actor on any project so much of the staff really enjoys the series as well as the success.

The finale garnered over 15 MILLION VIEWERS, toppling the old record of the opening show from Season 4. It's likely even more people will be tuning in as it continues. I think it's by far the most captivating show on TV or cable

Yeah I mean censorship is pretty weird for TV. You can show a guy get his face bit off, another guy rip a throat out with his teeth and allude to child rape but saying "f*cking" where it would naturally fit is a no-no? Sad times.

Don't worry, Lucille will have us all saying "f*ck". I hope the main Terminus guy isn't the show's Negan but if hes around through all of season 5, he might be.

They said on Talking Dead he's based on someone from the comics, does anyone know who this could be?

Just finished season 2 and all I can say is Wow. This show is amazingly well written and acted. And the soecial effects are convincing. Im officially hooked on it. Now I just hope that they put season 4 and 5 on Netflix soon

And yeas I agree with the above. I noticed the lack of foul language and it is kind of weird. If I were I a situation like this the expletives would be flying like there goin out of style.

Governor vs prison episode > season finale.

That episode is called Too far gone

My personal top 5 episodes are for Season 4:

1) Too Far Gone

2) Dead Weight

3) A ( Season final )

4) The Groove

5) Live Bait

It's interesting that they called it "too far gone" considering it's the title of volume 13 of the comics, and they are probably a season or two from that point in the show.

They will put season 4 on Netflix right before season 5 goes on air on AMC.

That's how it works. Once the new season starts, they put up the previous one.

I'm sure everyone can guess as to why.

Nah, season 4 just ended.

Season 5 will start in the Fall. Going to be a loooooong wait but I'll have Game of Thrones and Mad Men to take up a few months.

The waiting, it's the hardest part. The struggle is so real.

Pretty much. Netflix is able to get seasons like this of shows that are still on air on the basis that they are not put up until the subsequent season begins.

So season 4 will not be on Netflix until the Fall, when season 5 begins. It might be a few days before season 5 begins, but around that time. Keep in mind, I am basing this on past experience. Season 3 of Walking Dead was not put up on Netflix until season 4 started airing on AMC. The same was true for other shows i.e. Mad Men.

Netflix would be stealing viewers from AMC if they put them up at the same time the episode aired. I suppose they could release it episode by episode each week but a day after it airs on cable but....yeah I don't see that happening.

Plus dat ad $$$.

After watching the final episode of season 4, I must admit that this is by far the best season (concerning the character development, pacing, action scenes, emotions and so on so forth) yet in my opinion. I thought that season 3 was powerful, but this one, this one... Just f*cking great. October, can't come faster.

That reminds me of that one alternate ending they did for Breaking Bad. Where Hal from Malcolm in the Middle wakes up from a nightmare and ends up dreaming the whole thing. They could totally do something like this for Rick. Just as an alternate clip or something. It would be nice to see Shane alive again with his hair and friendship with Rick intact.

Yeah, they really nailed this season. I was a hair away from dropping the show last season, it was just so repetitive and slow-paced. I love how they explored individual characters this season and gave us the REAL prison battle. This second half of the season is probably my favorite part of the series so far.

I just watched the last episode yesterday. I got a weird feeling about Terminus from the beginning.. In the final episode I saw that they are definitely cannibals. When Rick's group was chased to the "welcome wagon", they ran past a fence of some kind with lots of human skeletons lying inside. f*cking creepy.. I was so sure they would shoot Carl as he walked towards the wagon, but luckily they didn't(that would mess up Rick so bad).

One thing: Why the hell didn't Daryl tell Rick that Beth was kidnapped?! Daryl saw the car driving away, so why didn't he just say so? It seemed like he cared a lot about her at the end

I'm really looking forward to the next season, 6 months is too long :(
