Well Lori died way too soon,not to mention different from the comics.

Her character is so different from the comics that I reckon this warrants a serious "not soon enough!" from me.

I missed Shane a lot at the beginning of this season, but Rick has grown on me. He embodies the "no f*cking around anymore" attitude that Shane had.

 

I wasn't too impressed with the death toll of the prison fight though.

 

Spoilers for the recent episode.

 

Axel was just a casualty, he didn't do sh*t for the group anyway aside from being a creeper.

 

I don't even know who the other person who died was. Hopefully they unmask him.

I avoid going on the internet when I am not caught up, which is very hard sometimes.

 

Kill the baby? I hope not, I hope they change that and let her live, instead of killing her like in the comics.

 

The comics are a little bit too cruel in my opinion...

Alright at first I thought the show was far superior to the comics in terms of realism and plot/ character development but this season has really let me down.

 

In the comics I disliked the Governor, he was an utterly cruel sadist. In the Tv series I actually really sympathize with him. What he's doing isn't that different to Rick really. In fact I kind of think it's better. This war started because Michonne is a dumb 2-d character who is used as a deus ex machina to start the conflict.

 

I'm f*cking sick of the plot armour that the main characters have. This is especially bad in the comic book in regards to Rick. It really loses a lot of the excitement when you know that despite a few bruises or maybe limbs lost in extreme cases. Carl, Glenn, Maggie, Rick and Dale are going to be okay. It's also ironic how a bunch of old, infirm and young survivors seem to have more kills to there name than a bunch of well trained, well equip, well fed alpha male type soldiers that we see in the Governors army. I mean they have easily killed several of the Woodbury survivors by now and who of importance have the Woodbury men killed, Axel, A black prisoner in it for like 3 episodes. Puh Lease. I really want to see the Governors army eradicate them all. Especially Carl. I know it's a child so it should have slack but every time Carl speaks I'm taken out of the story. I become really aware of the fact that the kid is acting and I think that this is a sure fire sign of bad acting.

 

Man the Governor in the comics was an evil son of a bitch who deserved everything he got. The governor in the tv series is easier to sympathize with than f*cking Rick.

 

Lily is in the Walking Dead RPG. She's a bitch in that. The only character I like is Carol, Dale, Merle and the Governor. Every one else is 2-d to f*ck and I couldn't care less what happens to them.

Totally agree with you. I myself am rooting for The Governor... and I get alot of sh*t for it from friends & family. I just like how he will do anything to survive, and protect his town. The man's biggest flaw though is his ego, in my opinion. It's like, now he has alot to prove or something. I mean, sure pillaging random soldiers is cruel... but he's just trying to provide for his den. When the world ends, primal instincts kick in... and the week slowly fall. You have to do EVERYTHING you can to protect/provide for your friends & family. When his daughter was killed, and he lost an eye, something did snap though. Definitely a morally challenged character.

 

I rooted for Shane too. Some say he was an asshole, but I think he was just a survivoralist. He thought Rick was dead, so he took care of Lori & Carl. But once he learned Rick was alive, that's when things started to go downhill. Leadership issues. Rick always wanted to do the good thing in an evil world, whereas Shane wanted to do the necessary thing in an evil world. And that's why I rooted for him, because I respected his mindset. Rick is starting to get into this mindset, so I will actually start rooting for him once he crosses over.

Nah man I read up to where Glenn got beaten to death and then gave up. In the comics I kinda like Glenn tbh. I really want there to be another villain who is outside of Robert Kirkmans set in stone characteristics. Most of his villains are sadistic, cruel, male, leader of bandits, communities. At least Shane was different but he wasn't fleshed out enough in the comic.

 

I didn't mean Dale btw I meant Daryl. Dale was an Andrea fan girl.

I actually hope that when they need an new antagonist, they will make a new character, rather then taking one of the comics. Because that worked great with other characters, such as Merle, Daryl and T-dog. Otherwise people will complain that they are not the same as the comics, such as Andrea, the Governor and Michonne. Complaining about that is lame because it is not the exact same story as the comics...

 

Anyway, I can't wait untill the next episode, I wanna know what Rick will decide.

This is especially bad in the comic book in regards to Rick.

That's because Robert Kirkman said that The Walking Dead is Rick's story and that the one thing he doesn't like about zombie films is the ending so he aimed to make a zombie story that won't end (at least for a very long time).

Basically if Rick dies the comic series ends, and this has pretty much always been known.

I think it was pretty good, but yeah, Andrea even tops Lori with her irritating attitude.

Merle conversation with Hershel was pretty interesting, I hope he finally stop being such an ass and finally becomes royal to both his brother and Rick's group...

Also Carol's: "Sleep with him and then kill him" was very interesting, she probably had that idea a lot with her late husband Ed...

 

Michonne finally talks like a normal person and tries to do the good thing by having a conversation with Andrea! (if only Andrea would listen)

 

If Andrea had killed the Governor in that scene, I would have cheered. But instead she is a bitch...

It just felt like a very dialogue-heavy episode and kind of a weak follow-up to the prison attack from last week. Don't get me wrong, it was nice to hear more from Merle and Michonne (and their thick-aired conversation), but it harkens back to the early days of the second season where the story was going nowhere fast.

 

I've read the spoilers for the next episode (I obviously won't post them) and it's a little better; some fan service with more character development from Michonne.

I'm calling B.S on that one right there. Carl got half his face shot off and lost his eye when that community was overrun and he awoke a week or so later with nothing but a headache. Please oh mighty Kirkman give us a real life example where a similar thing has happened (also noting that this is a kid who's already been shot by a rifle - In the series it's just the shrapnel from a shot deer that gets him but in the comic books there's no deer and he's shot "normally" - another reason why I feel that the T.V series has up until late been superior to the comics due to it being more "Realistic".

Shots to the face aren't always lethal, it depends on where the bullet entered the skull and what part of the brain was burned off.

 

I haven't actually read the comics, but I've skimmed through them at bookstores, and I remember seeing the part you're talking about. In the real world, he'd drop dead in a millisecond with a wound like that.

I was actually hoping he would pull a gun from beside the bed and splatter her brains all over that window she forlornly looks out of at the end. That'd teach her to be indecisive. I don't really dislike her that much but that episode really needed some excitement badly.

Finally! As soon as I watched the intro I had a feeling we will see the return of Morgan and Duane, but at least one was shown and the other mentioned. I enjoyed seeing Rick and Michonne working together without the worked up tension in the air, we know if the series continues to just slightly follow the comics that this tandem will be seen together a lot more frequently.

 

"I need you to drive, I'm seeing things."

 

Even without hardly any action, this was my favorite episode of this season. Let's see how dumb Andrea will look next episode, guys.
