As soon as Shane started butchering those zombies I knew that was coming. I agree that it would have been better if Shane been the one pulling the trigger because it would fit perfectly with the rest of the hammy sh*t this show pulls. Lame-ass poetic justice or whatever.

I think it was good that Rick did it. It showed that Shane was a hypocrite. He can't understand why someone wouldn't kill a walker, but when it's someone he knows, he can't pull the trigger. I actually thought about such a scenario in real life. I'm pretty sure most of us did.

Last episode was great imo.

Shane finally did what needed to be done as far as the barn situation.

It would have been a lot more fun if Shane had been the one who did it. I don't agree with those of you who say he's a good actor. He overacts. A lot. The accent paired with the horrible writing and overacting makes for so much fun. If he had been the one who shot Sophia it would have been so laughably bad (and that's what this show does best after the awesome zombies). Now it's just a failed poignant moment. "Oh wow Herschel was right blah blah" who cares, I want it to be fun and breezy because the show obviously can't handle the heavier stuff. Shane having to force himself to shoot a child zombie square in the head after slaughtering another man's zombie friends would have been fun and breezy.

I believe he acts greats in certain situations, especially the couple that has been with Dale. He seemed like a good guy at first but as this series goes by you can see him slowly becoming a pyscho path.

I really liked the way they capped this off.

I'm not a hard ass or anything but with all the touchy-feely soap opera boosht of the last 3 episodes we really needed something violent and sobering to bring it back around and get this group the f*ck off this dead end plot line of a farm.

I think Shane's quiet disposition as a no scruples killer and the fact that Dale magically just knows every last detail of it (him shooting Otis) have made for some of the better moments of tension this season. I totally expected him to shoot Dale right there in the woods and when he didn't I was genuinely surprised/relieved, so good on the show for giving me something to give a rat's ass about.

I was actually very glad he didn't shoot Dale, lately I've been feeling a bit of a connection with that character, so he's become one of my favorites.

I like this programme, this season makes you ask the question "What would you do?" alot.

But i can't help but think that they sort of created this side story (with the farm) to make the season longer? anyway like to see what happens in episode 8.

P.S. I am also glad he didn't shoot Dale, i like his character.

Aye, not until February 12. I don't have any clue why the f*ck a show would take a 2+ month hiatus in the middle of a breakout season. I know sometimes shows take a week or two off, but this is ridiculous.

The whole plot from the farm is in the books, so that was just adapted over. Some details are different, and some things going on in the show are original or happen at other times in the books, but the overall story of the farm is right out of the pages.

Pacing wise, it went a lot quicker in the book. And of course the cast has some glaring differences. I hope they mosey on proper fast.

I like the differences. Both the books and the show are different experiences, but the show itself feels very much like the books in terms of tone. Things happen differently that make me think, "I know it didn't, but that seems like it would happen in the books."

Just watched the mid-season finale. Shocking I must say. I never expected it to be this good.

Great acting, especially by Shane and Herschel. Anybody realized Shane is getting more screen time than Rick?

Now that everything's on the farm is screwed, get the f*ck outta there puh-lease!

Yeah, but then they spent more than 20 issues in the prison, not counting the Governor stuff. Wonder how that'll work out on the show.

Now its the mid-season finale, should we round up some facts/rumors?

Other than that, what do you guys think Jenner said to Rick at the end of Season 1?

some people are speculating that It was about Lori being pregnant but now that it wasn't that what could it be?.

I also thought that at first, because he took everyone's blood. As a result, I now think he told Rick that everyone is already infected, and we will find out that bitten or not, death is the catalyst for the transformation.

I remember when the series started and Frank Darabont was on board I figured they'd head straight to the prison (it's not a spoiler as it's not part of the show) since he has such a hard-on for prison stuff. Like a lot of other people, I'm thinking Merle will fill in for the Gov since he's lost a hand and all on account of Rick.

Just watched this series online, is it being shown on UK tv anywhere?

First season great, second season started off well, but seriously it became too much of a drama, too many women being stupid.

Hope the second part of this season doesn't dwell too much on this pregnancy storyline, otherwise I'll seriously be hoping Lori get's eaten.

It's being shown on FX on the Friday following the US broadcast and I think it'll be on Channel 5 at some point after that, like the first series was.

It doesn't go on forever. Keep with it because the mid-season finale is bad ass.

I don't know. It's some new thing a lot of shows are doing. I guess they think it builds intrigue.

I think it's so there is not so big a gap between proper seasons. So instead of ending in January, and waiting 8 or 9 months for the new season. they'll end in March and only have a 6 or 7 month wait.

I think it works better for a 20 to 25 episode season.

This show is horrible.

So are people that quote themselves in their signature.

I need to start watching the previous episodes now, to prepare for the 12th.

Indeed, indeed.

I watched the 'webisodes' they had, it filled my The Walking Dead crave I've been having.

Not sure if this has been explained this way, but the reason TV shows have these kinds of breaks is because they need to take a break for the holidays.

There may very well be reasons, like building intrigue and a gap. Just that's the default way.

Honestly, Season 1 is the Walking Dead that people should come to see, not character depth. It just has a lot of wow factor. While I enjoy Season 2 and it's character depth (in contrary to the cliché dialogue), that's probably the primary reason why not many people like the show. And because it's differences from the original comic counterpart.

I think they could mix the character development with more action. There was a stretch in season 2 where they only killed like 5 zombies in a 4 episode stretch.. That's weak.
