Oh so the second time I should just go to the glitched hood and not even put charges on them? Because i thought you meant blow them up again, all i was doing was increasing the density

EDIT: Doesnt work, I went into the territory I glitched, got the hood is under attack message, killed myself and there was no change

EDIT: Now im really confused, the post above me you say blow myself up and them at the same time, then below that you then say never to do that???

Can you post a picture of what the territory should look like after you blow yourself up?

Could you at least tell me what you are confused with? Il try repeat what i think you are confused about

In your other post you give some instructions on how to make the glitched territory an enemy territory, re read what you posted and see if you agree with me.

You say I can kill myself at the same time as I kill the enemy attacking me, by blowing myself up in fact. Later on you then contradict yourself by saying never blow them up and kill yourself, as it will only increase the density of the hood.

So i have decided to go with your other option, where you say I can simply go to the glitched territory and blow myself up without killing any of the gang members

I went to the glitched territory I made and waited until my hood was under attack, I then killed myself but there was no effect when I respawned at the hospital, the glitch did not work

I have now tried again, this time going to the attacked hood so that the enemy would spawn. I then ignored them, went to the glitched territory and blew myself up, and there was no difference, it did not work.

If you are still confused please post some better instructions that do not contradict with each other, or at least tell me what you are doing differently than me so i can adjust my steps.

Also, could you please provide a picture of what this new shared territory should look like? You did a good job providing pics right up to the point where the new glitched territory is made

Those are diferent ways to do it.

I said that because you said you waited until the hood was attacked then killed them (no change) and you killed yourself after (even if the attack was finished!)

Oh you meant blow them and THEN kill yourself, not at the same time. No, in the way I described I didnt blow them up at all. You said I could do it without killing them but by going to the gltiched territory and killing yourself. I did this on 2 seperate glitched territories and it didnt work. Could you please post a screenshot of a mixed territory

ok, well whatever you used for those first pics will do just fine. If you cant do that at least tell me where im going wrong or explain the proper order of how to make the glitched territory an enemy territory.

I can get the Hood Abuse glitch part right so no need to explain that, I just want to know exactly what to do after that, or at least tell me where im going wrong.

Did you really have to post all those videos? Most had nothing to do with it, you just took over territories and made them green but didnt show any where you made them mixed. The last few videos wont work for me

EDIT: watched the last few on youtube. The last few are much more helpful, and video 9 seems to be very helpful. What you did in video 9 was add density, would I be able to do these exact steps on a glitched territory to make it a ballas territory? I think my problem was satchelling all of them not just 2

EDIT 2: Managed to get it to work. The new glitched territory was a grey colour though, really weird. Both ballas and GSF spawned in it. Thanks heaps, now im going to experiment with this heaps and do it without cheating, might make a tutorial to help people

It is normal that the color is grey. You can even make it be shared with Vagos, if want. The fun thing with this hood is; it can be attacked. It is not one of those cheap OGS created territories created by using the 'Hood Abuse Glitch. It might not be attacked at each gang attacks but still... You saw it in video 1 and/or 2.

I would have liked to fight the other gangs; Varios Los Aztecas, San Fierro Rifa, Triads (Divided in two if I understand well the storyline in the San Fierro missions), Da Nand Boys and the Mafia (Sindacco, Forelli and Leone). Even maybe the Russian Mafia.

Can you imagine? A hood shared by nine gangs! A posibility of 30 cars! I think...

I dont think you can do it with other gangs unless you cheat. Also I have a problem, I cannot get the Vagos into Grove street. I did this glitch with the ballas, i barely saw a change in the density. I went and checked it out and there were balls there, with weak weapons. I then saved, waited a while and found the Vagos attacking me. I did the same thing. However instead of adding Vagos to the grove, more ballas appeared instead. The density changed slightly. I cruised around and only found ballas, they had stronger weapons. Should I just keep trying with Vagos?

Also If i were to use this glitch in LV I think a way to control it is to save 5 mins before the territory will be attacked, then go to LV and wait. Hoepfully that territory will be attacked, this means you done have to have a fast vehicle on you to get territories close by

You do realise you can create new territories by using the save game editor, right? That's how I turn the whole of SA into a warzone for my Single Player exploits

Alright say I use your glitch and take over the airstrip in the desert. Now when it is time for a gang to attack one of my territories, how can I make it so that the territory in the desert is attacked? I am thinking maybe go close by to the desert right before the hood is attacked and it should be attacked. By doing this, you can then go take over LV territories without the need of a fast vehicle nearby ( useful for non cheaters who cant spawn planes early)

This could help your guide, I found an extremely useful way of putting satchel charges on enemy gangs without cheating. Recruit say 4 GSF gang members and make sure they have weak weapons so they cannot kill the ballas. Have them hold their position and lure the ballas to your gang. They will start attacking your gang and will not shoot you. Use this time to quickly plant satchels on each member. If they start shooting at you retreat to the health pickup and get out of their. Go to the territory you want as your new hood and detonate. Then repeat but with your glitch to but ballas or vagos in it.

Can I take over El Corona using the Hood Abuse glitch? I would like to terrorize that neighborhood with 4 gangs in it

EDIT: About this save editor can you do this for PS2? You realise we are on PS2, as we have said before right?

For the Desert Airport hood to be attacked, it must be a shared hood or else it will not be attacked.

And yes, you can take El Corona.

The savegame editor 2.8 worked as a zone editor for PS2 saves. Has this compatibility been removed in the 3.x version of this utility?

I suppose it doesn't matter all that much since a cheat device program would be required to get the program to and from the PC in order to edit the file, and then you may as well use some of the fancy gang codes created by ric and skills.

I would rather manually do it, more challenging and fun. Does the same game editor make the territories shared though? Its cool walking out of CJ's house to find ballas attacking GSF, and maybe Vagos thrown into the mix if i can get that to work.

I just loaded your v1 starter save with a recent version of the savegame editor (v3.0.1) and it looks like it can load PS2 save without much trouble. It doesn't recognize the PS2 file ID, IPL flags, or naming conventions, but otherwise seems to handle the file just fine. Without actually testing the save on a PS2, it looks like it can manage shared territories. The new editor has an improved zone editor. It appears to handle everything except the unused gangs.

The savegame editors by Paul Breeuwsna have never been designed or tested for PS2 files. However, the new v3 editors are very clean. I am much less worried about corruption than with the v2 series.

Do you have any idea on why the street names change colour? I like it, Going into CJ's house and the text comes up green. Also its strange, i havent taken over any territories yet. I used this glitch to make Grove Street chared with ballas, and now it says I have 12 territories and 1 territory taken over

That might be gang zone related, green, purple, yellow for grove, balla, and vago? I don't remember seeing this on the PC version, and don't remember it clearly for PS2.

My short tutorial for getting it to work on grove street. I cant get Vagos to join in no matter what I do, il try them again later. But skip to the end, When I enter the house the text is in green, its not normally in green. Also when you leave Ganton text is in green.

EDIT:

I have become interested in this map

http://pdescobar.home.comcast.net/~pdescob...zone_mapper.png

If I were to use the Hood Abuse glitch in one of those squares, will that whole square match up perfectly in game, and be the same size and shape?

Also I have a question about overlapping territories. I will use Red County as an example. Red County has many territories in it, but they are all inside the territory called RED. I detonated the satchels inside RED territory but not inside the other territories. The entire Red County turned green. So would I be able to do this with LS? It would save heaps of time, in fact I just have to do this with each major area and I pretty much have the whole game swarming with every gang out there

Yes. The data from info.zon was used to create the zones in the save file, and also used by pdescobar to make that zone mapper map. There might be a slight difference but I doubt you could tell. The game rounded the zone coordinates to integers for storage in the save, but I'm not sure if pdescobar also round the data to integers. So I guess the zone boundaries might be off as much as .9 meters or so. BTW, that map was created specifically to help with making the modified zones in the chain game.

The zones are nested. SA > LA > LAIR2B > LBAG2. Turfs usually occupy the third layer. The gangs and dealers, and cars and peds for each zone are drawn from the top-most zone layer. The colors from lower layers tends to bleed through to the top layers. The Yellow Bell and Linden Station zones in the chain game saves are examples of gang zones within gang zones.

Im kind of confused with the layer thing. By layer, do you mean the order in which you took those territories, or by the density of the territory? The thing is i want to do 4 star gang wars and have loads of the map covered. However I dont want 1 gang war in say SF to take over the whole SF territory.

Heres what I want to do. I want to hand pick a few Sf territories, say the Doherty garage. Say I then use this glitch here to increase the gangs density in the garage territory and make it a mixed territory. Now I go to a place where its just the SF territory, detonate the charges and take over all of SF, and then come back later and use this glitch to make it a huge mixed territory. Will the Doherty garage I took over earlier still be on the map? If so another scenario follows.

Say I take over Doherty in a 4 star gang war. Will that have the Doherty garage taken over and just be GSF territory, or will all of SF be taken over to GSF?

Or instead, I take over SF as a whole territory in a big 4 star gang war. Will all of SF be taken over EXCEPT Doherty garage ?

EDIT: Ok i think i get the layer thing now, re reading your post you posted an example of nested territories. Im not sure what the order of the layers are though, is the bottom most territory out of that example LA, and the 3rd layer LBAG?

I was considering SA to be the bottom-most layer, and LBAG2 to be a 4th layer zone. However, I might have to revise my theory a bit. There are several SF zones that get created before the SF zone is listed - so... I don't know how the game is deciding - larger zones are lower down?

Anyway, 4th layer zones, or a zone within a zone within a zone within a zone, are fairly unusual. They are usually only found at the train stations and airports, but also the Cabin in Shady Creek.

I think that 4th layer zones might be a bit unusual. Cops and Gangs tend not to spawn inside of train stations and I never figured out why. Unity Station and Yellow Bell are exceptions, again I've no idea why.

Doherty might be tricky to take over since Rifa already controls the turf. They only have a density of 10, which is the same that you get from winning against the attack.

You might consider simulating your ideas on PC to see what happens.

Anyway, you don't need to worry about a war in one area leaking over to another. If you take over a large zone that contains many smaller zones then the smaller zones might be tinted green, but you'll only find your gang in the parts of the large zone that doesn't have a smaller zone with it's own peds and gangs.

geez this stuff is going to be confusing lol. The hardest part of this whole thing to do, without cheating, is creating a new territory for GSF using the hood abuse glitch, by playing charges on gangs then detonating where i want the GSF territory. Most of the time it doesnt even work. The easier part is mixing them with other gangs as all you gotta do is place 1 or 2 charges on them and suicide at the new turf you made. However after seeing the Grove Street mix I have a new idea, wondering if this will work.

You can mix gangs in Grove Street without having to do the hood abuse glitch, my video shows that. So is it fair to say that you can do this to any territory you already own? In this case I might mix the game up with the normal territory glitch. Im thinking of flying off the map to put territories all over the map. Then il go to the nearest territory with streets and use the hood abuse glitch to take over one area, and mix it with another gang. Now normally hood abuse glithes dont get attacked by other gangs, but after watching some videos mixed territories do get attacked. Is there a way to determine which gets attacked?

Say i save 5 mins before the territories start getting attacked. I load, and quickly go over to SF where I have my mixed territory. After the 5 mins has passed, will that territory get attacked, or will some random one in LS get attacked? Because then it would be easier to spread gangs over to other glitched territories and start gang wars there. This will be kinda hard with 4 stars...

That reminds me, I have a few questions on the whole idea of territories getting attacked outside of LS. Mt Chiliad as a mixed gang turf, no one would normally spawn up there. However if i go there before the territory timer goes off, would it get attacked? If so, where on earth would they spawn, I would like to try move them over to harder areas where they dont spawn well.

The gang wars appear to be hardcoded into the engine - it's pretty difficult to tell what is going on. I was unable to make any sense out of the gang war block in the save file. Seemann performed some of his magic to fill in most of that block, and some of that is still unknown or guess work. I'm not even sure if this data get read - restarting the game might yield completely different results.

The first turf to be attacked during the early gang wars is usually (always) GAN2. After that... I think the turf that is attacked is often one that was recently taken over. I've had attacks on the LV turfs I set up for the Chain Game. I don't remember the circumstances. The turf might have been the most recent I took, and may have been next to an enemy turf - I just don't remember. Sorry.

I think attacks can only occur when CJ is in LS.

Again, I suggest testing the ideas before spending a lot of time trying things with 4 stars. Use an end game save. Or try things on PC and set up everything the way you like with editors, trainers, or cleo mods. You can use some of these tools to examine your save after your test so you can be sure you know what is going on.

I have no end game save but I can still test this in the country side. I believe they are like GF phone calls, I mean I have never had a gang attack my turf on my end game saves while i was in another city. However if you had a mixed turf in another city and you were nearby, it might get attacked, this could be a good way to control which territory gets attacked.

I am about to test this with Red County, it is out of LS so if i stay nearby I should be able to make some predictions on which territory gets attacked.

Also I have had GAN2 attacked and I have saved many times afterwards, it is always attacked. Out of the 12 territories I have none have been taken over. Btw that increase in a territory was Glen Park, fully forgot about that. I have yet to take over any territories normally. Anyway I decided to go directly to the spot where they spawn before they attacked. I got the attack message, and the attack was in Glen Park, the last ( and first) territory I have captured. Looks like your theory is correct.

I took over El corona using the satchel charge method, that one wasnt attacked. I will test a gang war on that territory and see if it gets attacked next when standing in GAN2 spawning area. If this is the case I think I can have Grove Street attacked if i manually start a gang war there

EDIT: I tried again with the Vagos. I put one charge just as i did before and blew them up in Grove street, then killed myself. I cant be sure if the territory density has changed. I see lots of Ballas but not Vagos, but i dont think it didnt work. The name of the Johnson house has changed in density, I am sure of it. What I mean is the density of the label, also the Ganton label seems different, a different shade of green. Kinda strange. Il be testing out Red County now
