Jokes aside, match was quite boring until the sudden penalty mash, after that, everything flt more alive, and both team had chances to win, however, after Spain and Villa scoring, Paraguay couldn't cope with pressure, they had once chance, but Cassillias confidence was high.

 

So Holland-Uruguay and Spain-germany. Spain-Holland final and uruguay Germany for 3rd place in my, from the future opinion.

Wouldn't even say they overachieved. I think it's just that it's hard for Paraguay to get much respect when they're surrounded basically by two giants in the football world in Brazil and Argentina, plus Uruguay which also has a good history. But the Paraguayans have been in the last four World Cups and made the knockout round in three of them. They're nobody's patsy. I thought they proved to be a quality defensive side that had chances to take charge in this match but couldn't.

Ridiculous comment though, Spain was far superior to Paraguay who only chose to attack after they were already losing 1-0.

Watched the first half down the pub and it was sh*t, so boring but missed the second half which looked to be a whole lot better. Didn't Paraguay's offside goal have a hint of handball anyway, get remember that far back lol.

 

Backed Spain before it all kicked off, backed Spain through the group stages and i've backed Spain to win it. But now they've not been playing at their best and struggling to break teams defences, i can really see Germany doing them in big style.

Don't forget that the goal against Portugal was also offside and how about Villa not being disqualified for that slap against Honduras?

See the 0:16 mark. Part of his body is beyond the last defender, and if we refer to the rules.

The part of the body that is beyond it's the arm and the arm only which is not used in defining an offside in football ever.

The feet are both clearly not in offside as the rest of the body/head.

The linesman thought Cardozo (who was in offside) would get the ball so he raised the flag. But Valdez wasn't so it's wrongly disallowed and it cost Paraguay the semifinal.

Villa's goal against Portugal was in offside too and that cost Portugal the quarters final.

Basically Spain got in the top 4 thanks to two refs mistakes.
