I don't remember seeing that angle in the replay, only from behind where it looked like he might have struck him in the eye which would understandably cause him to go down.

Right, well, if they really were to do the right thing, the US would have two more points than they do right now. But asking them to overturn a red card is asking a bit less than to overturn a result. Well thats surprising i haven't seen that angle too, at first i thought Kaka meant to hit him with his elbow ( i knew anyway that the injury was fake, but i was like why would he do that since they are winning and he have a yellow card, it's just so obvious that Keita is going to act a fake injury ).

Anyway he got the red card because of the handball goal, was the referee way of making stuff seems fair i guess.

But that referee really did alot of mistakes, and made the match have alot of chaos.

And, speaking of the TAB, I have a $5 multi riding on Germany topping Group D, Serbia progressing from Group D, Brazil winning the World Cup and Spain being the best-finished European team; I should get $44 if that all happens.

Well no sh*t Sherlock, I even acknowledged I didn't know the f*cker. High-five for you!

 

Point is, a professional team like Brazil should be able to step into a match without the reliance on one supposed 'key' player. Injuries are far and beyond commonplace, so you should be well aware of depth; a man falls, and you replace him with someone equally as good. That's what makes a successful team. Sure, Kaká will be missed, but not so sorely missed by Brazilian management as everyone screams so.

 

With the professionalism of Brazil, I really doubt they'll struggle too much against an underachieving Portuguese side down to the absence of one man.

 

And Stefche, it was really all tongue-in-cheek, but I guess it came out a little 'harsh'. Since when did a 'hard man' place a single dollar bet? A f*cking broke man, more like. Still, I suppose the wee Serbian in you has a bit of fire in your belly .

Brazil beats Portugal either way, and they have the pool practically wrapped up anyway. In fact, they could clinch it in a matter of hours if Portugal/Korea DPR draw, which is plausible (Portugal will be without midfielder/playmaker Deco), and it renders the next fixture practically moot for the Brazilians. Kaka will just get rested for the knockout round.

 

The only way they could lose is if Portugal wins out against DPRK and Brazil, which isn't very likely.

That's something totally different, TMOs (television match officials). I believe it's employed in a number of sports outside the rugby codes, too. Gridiron? Cricket? But yeah, something additional to assist the referee on key decision-making that's not too time consuming, and effective.

 

I'm surprised no Paddy has bitched and ordered this to be incorporated. No more 'Handy Henry' whinging .

 

The citing commission's to discipline players. Although Sani Kaita was sent off for 'violent conduct' for example, if he was playing rugby union, he'd likely be suspended for a further number of weeks. It could solve all this diving hoo-hah, which Nelsen was getting at. The cameras catch a lot .

I think North Korea will be stubborn like in the Brazil game but Portugal will nick it thanks to something brilliant from Ronaldo. They really need him to start shining to have any hope in this WC.

 

Edit: Although judging by Portugal's start I would they will win by a few goals now. Just hit the woodwork there.

 

Edit 2: North Korea are pressing more and more though. But as I'm typing Portugal have scored.
