Japan is pushing it harder downfield. You can tell they want at least a point out of this. It would behoove the Dutch to get at least one more goal to be on the safe side. A win here pretty much wraps up the group for them, although Japan is still in good position to take second in the group and advance to the second round either way.

Great game overall, we obviously need to give Afellay more time because he's just good. He was in for what, 15 minutes, and he had two opportunities to score. The first half was boring but the second was quite enjoyable and exciting.

Australia have been very hard done by in both games so far. First with Cahill, now Kewell.

Agreed. I would say a yellow card at best. No defender in Kewell's situation would've evaded the ball; he obviously didn't have time to adjust his position and chest it, so why send him off?

 

The second round of group stage games have gotten entertaining, but scandalous as well.

Doesn't matter. He's not a goalkeeper. If you're going to stand like that in front of the goal to block a shot and you're not the keeper, you'd do well to keep your hands behind your back. That was a sure goal if it didn't hit his arm.

 

This may well end up costing the Socceroos the match. Ghana is creating a lot of opportunities and that probably won't be the last goal they score.

 

To be sure, I don't agree with sending him off, but definitely a yellow.

Im impressed with Ghana's play, even though they havn't scored again yet, but they are confident with the ball, happy to twist and turn and beat players. This is what I expect with England who played complete tripe yesterday.

 

If Ghana lose to the Aussies then they deserve it cos they have had many chances and failed to capitalise.
