fenom Posted May 21, 2010 Share Posted May 21, 2010 HI! I have a problem with GTA SA. When i go in game and load a new game, the game loads and starts. But i cant move the mouse, like if it freezes. You cant shoot, scroll weapons, and move. And if I pause the game I can move the mouse but not click. Its probably not my machine fault, because on my old comp I had the same problem. It usually helped to just alt+tab and then it was OK, but not anymore. I tried to change the compatibility to xp and it doesn't help. If I set the compatibility to win 98, I cant set the resolution higher that 800x600. :S My Specs: -housing: coolermaster -procesor: AMD Phenom 2 x4 945 3.0GHz -graphics: ATI Radeon 5770 1GB Dx 11 -Ram: 4GB -Hard disk: 1TB -Motherboad: ASUS M4A78T-E -Monitor: Samsung 2253BW, 2ms, 8000:1, 22'' -speakers: trust 2.1 -Headphones: canyon -Keyboard: Logitech Wave -Mouse: Trust Gm 4600 -OS: Windows 7 x64 -Gamepad: Logitech Rumblepad 2 Here That's everything. I had the problem in SA and VC (GTA3 works fine), i tried any possible and impossible things to fix it - no luck. So, maybe, *MAYBE!* i found a solution for this on Win7 x64, maybe it will work on other OS's. For Advanced Users Only! First of all you have mess with folder and files permissions on your OS. In "C:\Windows\SysWOW64" (for 64bit OS's) you need to replace the "DINPUT8.DLL" (BACKUP THE ORGINAL!) file with older one, in my case it was file version 4.8.0.400 (year 2001 ). THIS WILL IMPACT OTHER GAMES TOO THAT USE "DINPUT8.DLL" FILE! I tested few games, the mouse became slower.
