Did you somehow enable dynamic player shadows or is that a texture?

Just a texture. Dynamic shadows aren't implemented in RW engine for Vice City.

 

+Anyone have some HD road textures? sigh.gif

As a matter of fact they are but they are only used in cutscenes.

Screenshot proof? Personally, I didn't seen any ... Maybe I am wrong. sarcasm.gif

 

About these shadows, as I remember, in the last cutscene it the game (in mansion) you can easily see "dynamic" shadows of Tony and Ken on the red floor wink.gif

And maybe is there any way to enable them for normal game...

Ok; In my opinion your naysayers all have valid points. You've modified other people's mods which is a big no-no here, packaged them together - another no-no, and slapped on every ENB effect you could and called it a day. The lack of originality and taste is apparent to all with even modest cognitive ability.

 

Advice:

-Drop the "TC" part. It's not a total conversion. As the name implies, it needs to be a complete - total - conversion - map, player, vehicles, everything. Your mod is, in essence, a glorified car pack. Nothing more. There are very few mods that are true TCs, namely Myriad and Gostown.

-People expect to get what they see in the screenshots. If Enb, enb settings or other graphics mods are not included in your package, then don't take screenshots with them on. If you are going to use ENB, then you should only post screenshots with the settings that will be used in the mod package.

-Use more original content (ie, made, from start to finish, by you, or one of your teammates) and less conversions.

I agree with you.

 

The only thing I like on this "mod" are the graphics, and cars are not TC, just conversion, who knows some of them are from Racing Games

I am not doing anything illegal, being cocky or anything. I just want to SHARE THIS WITH PEOPLE!

 

 

 

 

 

First off, put away the TC thing, i don't care how you label it, but the vehicles are just the major thing that is changed. Weapons all HD, along with my own HUD design, some audio cutscenes music changed, all radio stations mixed by me (aloooot of music), graphics cristalized (in particle.txd, fonts, intro, outro screens), take a look for example:

SCRIPITING

 

 

 

Yeah, only God knows how much I spent on this main.scm thing. The threads, the jumps, the palbels, the conditionals... damn, I dreamed them for months! Started of with New Vice City 2004 as to be my base for script building, but it was really buggy so I couldn't install my mods into it. It crashed all the time. I got frustrated and left a project for a few months. Then I decided NOT TO GIVE UP.

Reinstalled Vice City and started all from ground 0. I used original main.scm, got rid off Sparrow Heli missions / thread triggers and started implementing mine NITRO MODS, 3D NEONS, Drinking, Airport buying, Hot cars garages, Villa properties, bodyguards, tuner shop mods, KMH, DAMAGE meter, FUEL mod etc etc etc......... It works fine now, though and I am very happy all bugs are gone. blush.gif

3D Neons I allready EXPLAINED in one of my tutorials here, on GTA FORUMS, and I even gave you the whole how-to tutorial.

The hardest part was DEBUGGING. Once I started rebuild (reinstalled and mod by mod), it took me like 4 months. Got removed alot of MAP objects (In BETA there was a Sin City from Mafia Stories)

But that seemed to be a lot buggy for Vice even though I increased the limits with Steve's Limit Adjuster. Alot of maps = crashing! So, I added only essenitals now, like gas pumps, new city near airport, take a look:

Well, have fun sharing it elsewhere, because it violates an assload of our rules. If you wish to post screenshots, you may do so in the appropriate screenshot topics. And a release topic with no release is a bit silly, so, locked.

 

Unlocked to allow more constructive criticism. Title changed to something more appropriate. However if there's a release of this mod posted in this topic, the lock goes right back on.

Thanks smile.gif And, yes, of course. Particle.txd and generic.txd has been completly changed. That means fire, smoke, water, blood, sky and clouds... HD palm trees as you could see are also included.

EDIT: Bcz scriptng is really hard, (I mean on stability), I'd need to throw out Scum Shack and some buillding near Mall. What proporties do you suggest to become buyable? smile.gif Airport allready is along with tuning garage icon14.gif

The whole starfish Island for 500k, so it would be a private island...5k per hour would be gain (a $ thing would appear in mansion, yes I know there's already one but it's for protection racket) it would be realistic, let's say crossing the bridge would cost some money for people, that's why you could gain money. All the houses on starfish island, would be your savehouses (spawning some cars and save casette)

 

The big hotel near bikers hideout, would cost 250k, and would generate 25k per hour, and a save casette.

 

3c hotel or whatever it was called, you know the one near Ocean Beach hotel with chainsaw in, would cost 3k, and would generate a save casette and pistol inside.

 

Hmmm.... oh, maybe buyable how was it called? you know, the dirty track stadium thing, you can race there...it would cost one million, and generate 100k per hour.

 

All hospitals, each of them would generate 25k per hour.

 

That's all I can think of... I however will take some screens and show you what buildings would make cool buyable savehouse.

 

*about that xxx money generating per hour, I just meant those normal $ icons generating money, not sure if it was actually an hour, maybe it was a day, I don't remember.

OK, Starsfish idea is good, but you can't buy the island, it's not realistic at all, you can allready buy another Villa on tho west side (next to the one with american flag). That Villa has weapons in it, armour and a Corvette in a garage smile.gif

 

Stadium buying - good idea for daily profit. icon14.gif

 

Hotel? Wow. Like 900k and 90k daily profit cool.gif

 

3c room? Fu*k yeah. wink.gif With a Camaro 67 in fornt of the house! cool.gificon14.gif

 

Hospitals and other state proporties nah... Too unrealistic.

 

 

 

And $ generates for a day, not per hour. smile.gif

 

 

 

But, you know what I had in mind. Because this main.scm now is perfect without crashing, I will leave it this way. I will copy it and work on that copy and implementing things you suggested me. So if for any reason game starts to crash, you can always have the one without this new buyproperty missions. I'll simply put the new modified in seperate folder so you can have both of them, and the "old" one in backup folder. Hope you understand smile.gif

 

 

EDIT: I'll scope that Modstar's new script mod. See if they made anything interested and hoping they can give me some more ideas. inlove.gif

Great, I like it this way. And yes, that's true those both things are unrealistic, I'm happy as hell you're going to look into these properties, and hell yeah that was my idea in my mind, to put some cool oldschool car in front of that hotel room.

By the way, I made pedgrp so when you are on foot, there going to be some gang wars, but when in car, they will happen rarely. I edited Fishhead's script to give them apropiate weapons (bikers handle Pythons and Remingtons, whereas Diaz gang handles Car-15 (m4) and Uzi's.)

Here is a screen, it just generates a few gangs in each area and they are fighting extremaly often.

Here are the cons and pros:

Pros:

It looks cool, great to collect their weapons, if you have some mad gunz you can help your boys, and it's very fun. Also it happens only when walking on a street, if you're cruising with speed through city they won't appear.

Cons:

Sometimes it might by annoying. Diaz gang spawns even after killing him. Very often you might get hurt too. it's unrealistic.

I like this TC.

i played VC back in the old days and like this game too.

The old 80's mafia/criminal activities and the cars.

Sadley Vista doesn't like old GTA games.

The only thing I dont like in VC is the camera.

Its not moveable like SA and IV.

Camera always stays behind the car.

I like these sun reflections or sun flares.

Don't you think that's too much violence in the game? Accent here should be on remodelling Vice into a modern view, give it a new life with a spice of NFS and FNF atmosphere. Ofc I will, and allready I DO consider your ideas, but they will be filtered to fit the atmosphere I'm trying to make here smile.gif

Yeah, it was really hard to replace the WAV files inside of sfx archieve. I replaced P.I.G male voices with prostitute ones so it's more realistic. i don't want trannies in my game, xexexe smile.gif

EDIT: Will it improve instability? Bcz there is allready alot of weapons spwans in the main.scm script and so I wouldn't want it to cause crashes or smt. What limit lifts up the number of spawned script weapons/cars via LimitAdjuster (Steve's or 2.0b)
