LaunchEFLC_activation crash

Hello, I have a crash problem with "LaunchEFLC_activation.exe" (Release Control Unpacker).

Basically, every time I try to run EFLC using the shortcut on desktop or any of the exe files from ...\EFLC folder, "LaunchEFLC_activation.exe" crashes.

The problem appeared couple of days ago when I installed original GTAIV from the DVD, before that the EFLC had worked perfectly for weeks.

What I have tried to do so far is to repair install and full reinstall EFLC from the DVD (I have a retail DVD copy of it) but I'm still getting the crash.

Note: the original GTAIV I installed Works perfectly so this problem is only with EFLC.

 

Even though I think my hardware is unrelated to the issue due to the fact that I've been playing GTAIV & EFLC ever since they were released, Here:

 

OS: Microsoft Windows XP Professional 32bit - SP3

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 @ 2.83Ghz

GPU: nVIDIA GeForce GTX285 1GB (Driver version: 197.45)

Memory: 4GB DDR2

Have you tried completely removing GTAIV?

This file is not included in the regular game in any way as far as I know, and that icon is not supposed to be there either? Just use the regular launcher to unpack the EFLC.exe; even if you're not planning to activate on that system, since it downloads both the EFLC.exe and DFA keys during that check.

My friend seems to have the same problem, has anyone found a solution to this?
