What's new is that three city districts were given three names: Eastbrook, Downtown, and Cascade Hills.
more streets were added in Downtown and Eastbrook was finished

City of Saint-Marion (City of Saint-Marion - Album on Imgur)

FusBxcg.png

Saint-Marion is a city from south of Louisiana State (or whatever it is called in GTA universe). I made this map for my Mafia tabletop rpg that takes place in 1953 and 1955, but it could easily be fit in the GTA universe, being one of the surrounding cities of Saint Denis. It sits in the core of the Buccaneer Bay, in the swampy area of the Tesfayè River.

The city is divided into 7 districts, each with it's own characteristics.

BURNIER COLLINE: a wealthy neighbourhood, built in the top of the New Provins Hills. It has a beautiful view of the whole city and all it's districts. The Schievano Crime Family runs it as of 1953. Here lives the some of the richest mans of the city (such as the Mayor and one important congressman), far away from the whole city mess - and from it's ugly swamp smell.

VILLA ROMANA: a medium-class neighbourhood, built to shorten the transport of various goods that come to the port in Porto Regina. It's a mixed residential-commercial district, under Don Schievano's protection, from the Schievano Crime Family (in 1953). It houses a small group of wealthy citizens in it's secluded west portion, where Don Schievano lives, on a mansion complex/condominium. NOTABLE LOCATIONS: Beaver's Dam Nightclub and Black Dhalia Bar and Restaurant.

PORTO REGINA: the last district that's established on Tesfayè River's west bank, built to house the city's port and to be the city's workers quarter. It is mainly commercial/industrial, but there are couple blocks that people live in (houses and very small apartments). It's under the Flying Dragons Chinese Organization, their base of operations is the Flying Dragons Seafood. Through this neighbourhood comes half of the city's income.

DOWNTOWN: Saint-Marion's financial district, filled with tall concrete Art Deco buildings. It was created to host USA's most valuable companies head offices. The other half of city income comes from this district and it's offices and comercial establishments. There was an agreement between the Mafia Families (Schievano, Basaco and later Agnello) that this was a "sacred" district and no one would have power over this turf, specially because the authorities had all eyes over it. NOTABLE LOCATIONS: City Hall/Louisiana National Bank office, Santa Lola Metropolitan Hospital, Opera House, Sea Parrot's Stadium.

RIVERSIDE: the poorest neighbourhood of the city, due to Don Agnello's lazy and uneficient admnistration, based off of violence and brute force. This is mainly a residential neighbourhood, where poor peolpe that work at the port and warehouses of Porto Regina live. The Agnello Family poorly run this district. Most of the city's violence is related to Riverside. Most constructions and buildings are dirty and grayish. A very distorted vision from the rest of the city, which is colorful in it's essence (with a good amount of American Colonial Architecture and Art Deco). NOTABLE LOCATIONS: Agnello's Chateau and Old Sam Junkyard.

POINT VERONA: it's a medium-class residence neighbourhood, similar to Porto Regina. Don Enio Basaco, head of the Basaco Mafia Family, runs it with inteligence. American Colonial Architecture is all over this district. It's nickname for the citizens is "Tourists Quarter", because of the various commerces and hotels aimed at tourists that come to the city for the Jeudi Soir Day - city's major holliday. NOTABLE LOCATIONS: Saint-Marion Lighthouse, Cascada Imperial Cassino & Resort and Basaco's Mansion.

BARRIO LATINO: this is a latino neighbourhood, city's most recent district. It is mostly residential, with few commercial buildings. Some modern/alternative architecture found it's way to this places, due to it being developed without the authorities organization. Los Purgos Gang runs it from an autoshop in the middle of the neighbourhood. There's a little gang war happening on this district between the Purgos and another gang named Haitian Lokatas. NOTABLE LOCATIONS: Horátio Táxi & Táxi.

Version 6 of Red Dead Modern Day Here

I included an unlabeled and labeled version of the map, as well as neighborhood maps of Saint Denis and Blackwater. The labeled version had to be slightly downscaled for Imgur.

I had to take some liberties at this point, since Red Dead 2's geography is a little bit limiting. I took inspiration from parts of the beta map, and researched different city models and structures. Blackwater ended up being massively changed to have a stronger Houston influence, and I added a Mexican state based off Cancun to the south of Saint Denis (Guama, not Guarma, heh.)

With the next version I hope to complete the major cities on the base part of the RDR2 map before going onto Mexico and other regions outside the map, which I've begun to plan out.

Really like your idea but as you said, it's true that RDR2's map is a bit limiting when it comes to imagine what could be a Saint Denis or a Blackwater in the modern era. Unfortunately we are unable to build a big city without considering to take a big part of each state in which the cities are belonging to.

In my opinion, all the RDR states are actually too small, but we can't forget that horses can't be as fast as cars can be, so the use of the space on the map is 100% different.

That's one of the reasons why I think GTA and RDR doesn't have to be mixed together.

Mafia III is giving something way more realistic in terms of proportions and geography

That's definitely a fair point and something that kept popping up in my mind. The map usage of RDR and GTA are very, very different.

I do think it's possible to construct a map, but the proportions of the city to countryside will ultimately be much more reminiscent of San Andreas than V or Mafia III, where the cities took up not too far from half the state. V and Mafia III make it obvious that the areas of San Andreas and Louisiana shown in the game are only one region of the state.

Decided to try my hand at making a concept map. It just mainly comprises of arterial roads and large cities. I might make a more detailed version of this map if I find the time.

For a first map, it looks like it was made by a professional!

Which program do you use for the map?

dpi only matters when you print an image, don't need to worry about it when making the map. If you mean resolution, most larger maps here tend to around 2000-3000 pixels per side.

There's also many times in Vice City where they mention florida on the radio by name, especially when talking about the hurricane, also Tommy, when crashing into another car sometimes says "Dumb, florida, moron..."

I'm aware of that but you have to understand that it's not in R*'s nature to use real life names for fictional locations. It's only really done as references. Besides I doubt they'll call this Florida like in the 3D universe as the 2 are different universes.

Why only Los Angeles-San Francisco-Las Vegas? Let it be New York-New Jersey once.

Off topic: add casinos again, GTA V is somehow empty without them.

This topic is more than just fan-made maps of San Andreas, and if you want a map of Liberty City and Alderney, then just make one yourself. Also, GTA V (Single-player) suggestions are supposed to be in this topic in the link down below:

I know, but did you just copy-pasted cities from Google Maps or what? And those Highways, they don't have any detail, aaahhh.
Still, those mountains look sick.

I'm thinking of making other versions of my 1978 map, ideally 1899, 1911, 1928, 1956, 2001 and 2021 but been really busy lately, my job has gotten in the way, worked 48 consecutive days in a row from November 6th to Christmas Eve.
