VICE CITY UPDATE 5

Hey guys, just me back with another update. I'm sorry for the delay, its been a crazy week, lots to talk about this time around. I've gotten to the point on the VC map that I sort of consider it done, if that's possible to say(as you can always add more to a map). As always anything you guys have to say is appreciated, now lets get into it.

  • Finished the region west of Osceola, complete with Auntie Mabel's Citrus Farm, home to the best oranges in all of South Florida.
  • Expanded the area between Osceola and Kisoffme a bit, just to add more of a metro feel to the area.
  • Finished the city north of Osceola, added several landmarks there, including the Donald Love Memorial Coliseum, Redwood Cigarette Factory and the prestigious Central Florida State Penitentiary.
  • Completed the western region, this one I had to do some thinking on to come up with an idea for what to put out here. Ended up with the Cypress Creek State Wetlands, a nice place perfect for dumping bodies along with the Cypress Point Golf Course, a place where plaid is back in style and old people always seem to die.
  • Added loads of little things here and there, probably could've added even more but ehh.... all's well.

Now, for all those people who've been following me on this ride I've got a few extra's for you.

Number one is a couple different color schemes and filters for the map, tell me which one you like best.

Number two is a little added realism to the map.

That's it folk's, making this map has been so much fun and you guy's motivation helped me amazingly. Now onto my next project, the New Orleans/Saint Roche map.

Here's my work in progress map of the entire USA with Renderware era cities.

It's mainly the east and west coasts so far, but it's getting there!

I'm making this in GIMP. Originally everything was on one layer, now I'm shifting things into separate layers (Land, Road, Rail which I haven't even started with yet, etc.)

So far I've got the land of Vice City and some of its roads converted over to my new design, LC is next but right now I'm more interested in adding more cities. Like Atlantic City, aka, Donald Love™ Casino & Resort.

Oh dear god what have I gotten myself into?

Hello everyone! As you may notice, I'm new here. I love GTA and been playing it since my childhood (mostly GTA 2, Vice City, San Andreas and IV) but what really attracted me to this forum is this particular topic. I've ran through all the pages and saw some really brilliant maps. It is what inspired me to try to create one of my own maps. And I've already started with it. Well, I started working on it long ago and then forgot about it in the process, but yesterday I was just sorting some of my images on my PC and found that map I was making. I even updated it a bit by adding some new roads.

Ass you may see from the image, there's still a lot work to do on it. What I managed so far is to determine the shape and partially place some of more important roads and even started working on road network on one of bigger cities on map.

Now my plan for the map to have is at least 4 if not 6 major metropolitan cities and about dozen if not more smaller towns and villages. There will be also lots of countryside. You can also notice some already placed rivers and lakes. A terrain on map will range from plains, to deserts, mountains, tropical forest and even to arctic areas. It won't be a map based on any real area, but entirely fictional map of my own. That way it gives me more freedom to do what I want with it. Hopefully you'll like it and any advises are welcome, especially maybe for a name of map/region and cities/towns/villages.

Btw be warned, the image is extremely huge!

Update on my entire USA in III-era GTA map.

I have converted a lot more of the original stuff to my new layer system, making the map 100x easier to edit.

I know it looks quite clustered on the east coast but the cities will become more and more spaced out as we head further out west. The rail line heading west will split, one going directly west to connect to Las Venturas after passing through one or two other cities. The other line will head south towards New Mexico, or whatever it should be called in the GTA universe.

Hello Guys if you want me to create your map in 3D write me! Your map must be smaller than 8x8 kilometers and should show me a height map so that I know if there is a mountain or something.

I wonder if you can recreate a map in ROBLOX for example, would that be allowed? And yes, I'm back after 2 years, when I posted my first map that was bad, lol. I've finally got my hands on GTA 5 on PC and it inspired me to go back here. My map will be how I see GTA 6 (not released obviously).

Hello!
I'm new posting but I've been following this topic for a long time since I love both mapmaking and GTA. There is something in the GTA maps that makes me go crazy, I've been trying to make a map for Las Venturas in the HD universe but it was getting hard since I don't really know the city. Instead, I decided to make my city: Rosario. I'm planning on building the maps for the whole Rio de la Plata region (in South America) based off San Andreas including three major cities and one area of each: Rosario and the Entre Rios river delta and wetlands, Buenos Aires and the Pampa region and Montevideo alongside the uruguayan beaches and hills.

Even though I know GTA is a parody of american culture, I believe this particular city could be interesting to play in. Firstly, an introduction since most of you probably don't know where this city even is.

Rosario. Argentina's third largest city, a city with tall skyscrapers and beautiful sunsets by the Paraná river that gifts the people with fertile lands where marijuana and drugs plantations can be ignored by the corrupt government. Entire neighbourhoods controlled by gangs dealing weapons and drugs to facilities in the countryside, river islands or even abroad using one of the most important ports in the region. While some people drive their cars to the private neighbourhood with a lake, airplanes go through the land spraying chemicals made by the same corporations that polluted the river out of the public eye. Come enjoy the beautiful Delta and the great argentinian wine in the eternal land of the Pampa! Don't forget your pepper spray!

*The map was made in San Andreas style using the same colors and details.

SAN LORENZO REGIONS

1. Abandoned Airstrip north of Santa Fe where flying school is located. Missions here are required at the end of the game.

2. Camping site of San Lorenzo.

3. Water Planet. Boat storage and water sport facility.

4. Paseo de la Libertad Park. Here the coast of the river is a steep cliff. Perfect place to throw a car to the water.

5. Crop circles deep inside the farmland.

6. Old mining facility west of Santa Fe.

FISHERTOWN REGIONS

7. Bosque de los Constituyentes ecological reserve. Don't mind the indigenous corpses buried there, just enjoy the picnic!

8. Car Racing Tracks.

9. Fishertown private neighbourhood. Now with a lake and tennis courts!

10. Rosario International Airport.

11. Funes Train Station. End of the line.

12. Funes Town Park.

13. Rosario Golf Court.

14. Private neighbourhood under construction.

SANTA FE REGIONS

15. Little town of Zavalla.

16. University of Agronomy

17. The drugs farm. Not illegal at all.

18. Santa Fe National Park. Sooo many trees. This forest region is the fastest way to get the illegal stuff from the farms to the river without using the highways.

19. Rosario National Prison. In the hypothetical game you should break someone out of this prison. So it has a purpose really.

20. Perez Town. Largest town west of the Paraná river. The player once had to live here during the countryside missions.

21. Perez Train Station.

22. Los Monos Drug Factory. The enemy gang location for illegal activities.

23. Santa Fe Farmlands. Silos, fresh milk and ''gauchos'' riding horses. The heart of the lost argentinian culture.

24. Weed plantations. You don't know they are there. Nobody does. Just keep quiet.

25. General Mottos Car Factory. This is an actual place in the highway to Buenos Aires that is crazy big having thousands of cars in the parking lots. In a mission you need to steal a bunch of cars from here using a truck and transporting them to the Galvez Ports.

GALVEZ REGIONS

26. Monsaint Chemical Industries. Having a big beautiful garden with a magical fountain facing the highway doesn't improve the fact that this corporation is behind the high toxic levels of chemicals inside the food produced in the region. Better yet, they have huge deposits of toxic waste being dumped in the Salado River. That somehow ends up in the Paraná River even though they say it doesn't. Again, in a mission you should make these waste tanks explode.

27. Conizet Biodomes. Another big corporation. This time, farmaceutical. They are experimenting inside big glass domes on perhaps... people?

28. SojaLand Town. Deep inside the farmland, this town is the setting for a character you meet along the road. People farm soy beans and the entire town is owned by a corporation. It has dirt roads and no infrastructure at all. Not even power. Can you imagine?

29. SWEET Refrigeration Plant. This is a huge meat factory that you need to break in during a mission just to discover they are using another animal for beef. The building is based in the Swift factory in Rosario.

30. Rio de la Plata Western Military Base. With its own airport this is an odd looking location that of course everybody knows it exists even though nobody really cares.

31. Esther Resort. This location is home to the Esther campsite and park as well as the Esther beach which is actually inaccessible now due to the water pollution levels in this area. I wonder why.

32. Galvez Town. This fishing town is totally under gang control because its port is the perfect spot to smuggle drugs and weapons to other territories.

ROSARIO REGIONS

33. Salado Ecological Park. Its motto is: 'Cause we care about nature!'.

34. Salado River Waterfalls. In a mission you need to smuggle illegal stuff to the islands using this river. Once you go down the waterfalls, you can't go back. Based in the real Saladillo river.

35. Villa Salado neighbourhood. This is a very low income neighbourhood where the character lives at the start of the game. It resembles Little Havana in Vice City.

36. South Rosario Train Station. Welcoming passengers shooting at their trains.

37. Rosario Industrial Park.

38. Rosario City Casino. Based in the Rosario City Center Casino, this casino is robbed in a major mission halfway the storyline.

39. City Water Tank. Just that.

40. Central Cordoba Train Station. This is an old train station that now is run by the italian mafia of the city.

41. Penal Center Police Station.

42. Rosario University. Glancing the river, it sits at the cliffs of the city.

43. Rosario's Port. One of the busiest ports in the region which transport goods all across south america.

44. Planetarium.

45. Pellegrini Avenue. A hot spot during the nights.

46. Independence Park. Biggest park in the city. It has a beautiful hill, tons of roses and a museum.

47. Rosario Horse Racing Tracks. Also used as a car racing track during the game.

48. Newell's Stadium. One of the two regional football teams' headquarters.

49. Independence Park Lake. At night, it has dancing waters and colorful lights.

50. Salvador Cemetery.

51. Casado Villa. This is another low income neighborhood home of the enemy gang Los Monos.

52. Fonavi. This apartment complex was built by the government in an attempt to improve housing conditions among the citizens. Now it's a dangerous place.

53. This spot has the poorest housing conditions of all. Emergency houses were built in public space alongside the train tracks.

54. Emergency Hospital. Based in the HECA building. This is the southwest hospital of the city.

55. West District Suburbs. This is a middle class neighborhood having a mixed commercial-residential use.

56. Rosario Cinemas. This is a movie theater complex home of a Burger Shot.

57. Arts Museum.

58. Rosario Terminal. This is the bus station for the city and a transportation and commercial hub. Many missions are held here.

59. Centenario Hospital. Central and biggest hospital of the city next to the Medicine University of Rosario.

60. Oroño Avenue. This avenue has a pedestrian park between the two lanes that is filled with huge palmtrees. Nightclubs and bars are opened at night and it has a lot of mansions around.

61. San Martin Plaza. This is the central point of the city where the Law University sits alongside the Rosario Police Department and some museums. Almost every transportation line gets here.

62. Pedestrian junction. This is the junction of two pedestrian roads which has become the commercial center of the city. This neighborhood has the highest volume of residents and towers of all.

63. Sarmiento Park. A transportation hub in the southern part of downtown. This is the home of many alleys where you can find illegal stuff and a major spot in the storyline.

64. National Flag Monument. This is the symbol of the city. A tall structure that represents the flag. It connects to the original plaza by a small alley between the Church and the City Hall.

65. National Flag Park. This is the main park of the city having one of the best views of the river. South of it there is a very tall tower (Aqualina) which is the last house of the player. There is also a nightclub, a pier and a TV network headquarters.

66. Cabral road. This is a very steep road surrounded by tall buildings. At the end, a charming fountain.

67. Spanish Park. This is based on the Parque España building which is a brick stair-like structure at the beginning of the river cliff. A tunnel goes under it.

68. Silos Davis. An old port structure that has become a museum and a bar. It serves the best fish dishes in the city.

69. North Port. This neighborhood is home to the tallest buildings outside Buenos Aires. It is without a doubt the richest part of the city. You can buy a property at the top floor of one of the towers at the end of the game.

70. Escalada Tunnel. This is another tunnel that connects the downtown area to the North of the city.

71. Alto Shopping Center. Binco, Cluckin Bell and a lot of Pizzas. It has a car dealership as well.

72. Scalabrini Park.

73. English Neighborhood. This was made by english immigrants and the architecture is totally different from the rest of the city.

74. Parkfield. This suburb is a middle-income neighborhood.

75. Ribera Complex. These buildings were the old port of the city and now they are one of the most expensive parts of the city. One girlfriend during the storyline lives in the tower facing the river.

76. Central Stadium. This is another football regional team headquarters located alongside the Tudueña River.

77. A dumpster throwing stuff in the Tudueña River.

78. Alem Shopping Center.

79. Alem Park sitting next to the Tudueña River which houses a small fishing port.

80. Aquarium.

81. Florida Beach. This neighborhood north of the city has a series of mansions hanging off the cliffs and the bigger beach in the city.

82. North Point. This is the location of a pedestrian bridge over the river.

83. Rosario-Victoria Bridge. This hanging bridge is another symbol of the city and the Paraná River. In a mission you need to shoot explosives from one of the towers.

ENTRE RIOS REGION

84. Bridge Depot. This is the fee collector for the bridge and a trucking hub.

85. UFO Village. This location is near Victoria and it is considered one of the hottest spots for UFO observation in south america. At night, some teams go out into the fields looking to see some UFOs.

86. Victoria Resort. This thermal water park is one of the most visited spots in the region due to its health benefits.

87. Victoria Town. This is the biggest town outside Rosario in this part of the country. It houses a bank, a hospital, a police station, a burger shot, a casino and a water park. A gas station sits at its outskirts.

88. Trailer park and Victoria Hills. Several mansions are found here outlooking the Victoria lake and wetlands. One of those mansions are available for purchase during the game.

89. Victoria Casino.

90. Italian Mafia Residence and fields.

91. La Isla Town. This fishing town is only accessible by water since it sits in the middle of the wetland region. You can find some animals like crocodiles here. You have a girlfriend during the storyline that lives in one of these houses.

92. Vladimir Island. This is a touristic spot with a beach outlooking the city, a bar and a port. The rest of the island is mostly swamp.

93. AgroChem Corporation secret facility. This is discovered in the second half of the storyline as one of the deadliest waste in the river and it pollutes directly the city of Buenos Aires. It is hidden deep inside the swamps and is only accessible by boat.

94. Due to pollution and flooding, this is an abandoned town that is overgrown by vegetation and sunk houses.

A very poor representation of what the gameplay would look like.

*Map legend is accordingly to regions.

*Most locations are based in real ones.

*This information is all I came up while drawing the map (you can't draw a place you can't imagine). Just for fun, there is no real game LOL.
*I think it would be pretty cool to have a gta more involved with farms and water. Having all those rivers could be so fun to explore the swamps. Also, this city plays very well with gangs, guns, drugs, smuggling, economical disparity, pollution, corruption and big corporations so I would totally play a GTA like this.

*Im gonna be working on a map for the three cities together and maybe continuing the Las Venturas map.

Nice, but the railway lines are a bit unrealistic. I mean the yard is unrealistic with so many rail crossings, or flat crossings depending on which country you are from. And may I know which program do you use to map?

Actually, the railway layout is almost the same as the real one.

Argentina had, at some point, one of the biggest railway systems in the world being the largest in latin america and the eighth in the world close to 100.000 km of train tracks. Tons of british and french companies used to transport all the good from the Pampa to the main ports (Buenos Aires, Rosario) so the city started to develop train factories near the stations at the old port (north of the city). In the map, you can find 8 different train stations (one abandoned and used as a drug factory). Most of the tracks in real life are now abandoned.

Opposite of european systems, in this region they were designed in an extractive way so they all merged together in both cities. You can find the same pattern in Buenos Aires. In the end of the lines there are a lot of tracks close to the factories and they were mainly used for cargo train storage and repairs. This place is so big it rips the city apart just like american highways in the US and it seems like an interesting place for easter eggs and missions.

I'll post a picture of the real maneuvering area in Rosario taken from the bridge.

I draw the important roads and shape by hand and used only photoshop for the rest. I used stroke lines for the roads and brushes in different layers for the land. 😆

@avatarsdLove the map man, I used to make those but not in such detail as yours. I especially love those eerie eastern islands, its all about details when it comes to SA styled maps. Favourite spot has to be the AgroChem facility. Heres one of my old SA Maps.

It set on an island known as 'Wendy Valley' which is small, foggy, densely forested island somewhere in the Southern Ocean...

The capital (and only) city is known as Pencilville, which is generally large and has skyscrapers. The second largest settlement is seen on the far left shores, and is named Garver (or Garver Town). There is also a smaller beach town in the south named Willow and another town in the west named Sanderville. The small island in the bottom right corner houses a secret lab facility called Zoidpark. The western and southern coasts are made up of beaches, while the rocky Northern and Eastern shores are more swampy and humid. The island is famous for its fog, and contrary to popular believe, Wendy Valley is actually an island group, as the Pencil River dissects the main island.

Where do you have the icons from gta san andreas?

I copy-pasted them from the game, I can give you the PSD file with the layers for each icon. San Andreas pixel quality is not the best so the smaller the icons, the better.

@Doggy Dink I love your map! SA style makes everything so much interesting. What happens to the train tracks at Willow's Port?

Also if you use imgur make sure to go to account settings and enable HD image uploading so it doesn't compress it.

ST. ROCHE UPDATE 1

Hey guys, sorry about the time off, I've been really busy here lately but hopefully now I can get back to work on my maps. Anyways here's a small update on the New Orleans based map I showed a little bit of on page 156. I've been working on roadways for both the main city and the countryside while adding a little bit of bayou land here and there. As always any comments, critiques or questions are welcome.

Nice map Flea, when I first saw your map I could only notice its biggest feature. The lake. I was wondering if you're going to make that long bridge the St. Roche area's version of the Pontchartrain Causeway? Also just a few random things: It could be cool to see a dynamic in the map, like the riot in SA, if there were to be a hurricane for example. Additionally, when I think of the region and the Gulf, oil comes to my mind. I know, how American lol So maybe you could include a large heliport like for land to rig (if you were trying to brainstorm some locations).

Nice map Flea, when I first saw your map I could only notice its biggest feature. The lake. Hey Mustang, thank you so much for your comment and thoughts on the map and yep your totally right on the Lake Pontchartrain/Causeway connection, being a staple landmark of the area I just had to add it. I've got a name picked out for the St. Roche version of the lake, though that'll have to wait for an update further down the road. If any of you guys have any other landmarks or local hotspots that could be added to the map that would give St. Roche a grounded New Orleans feel I'd be greatful. On to the oil rigs you brought up, I had almost forgotten about all the drilling out in the gulf, have to think on how to add them to the map, maybe as I'm doing the buildings and filling things in. Lastly, on your comment about adding a hurricane, I've had thoughts previously about that, even on my Vice City map I wanted to add some sort of weather event, it was just to hard to work out a way to do it with the style of map I was making. Though I'll admit if I ever do try and write out a storyline for one of these maps I'm for sure throwing in a hurricane or two. Anyways thank you again for your post, its always good to talk about these maps, keeps the creativity flowing.

Is the northern connection of the causeway going to be based off of Slidell? And on the other side the marshes east of the causeway is Bayou Sauvage?

Yes and yes, although a very loose interpretation of those areas. Most of the regions of St. Roche will have real world counterparts though for the sake of art and space things will have to be moved around a bit.
